As a moderator, shouldn't you behave in a more professional manner and obtain the views of other contributors? No need for high handed approach here.

hye, MilesAndMore FYI.

I was just cleaning the threads, so are you saying I will need to ask each of you for opinion? Oh please, it doesn't work with us. We are not here to serve you guys in such a manner.

well. maybe let's all take a step back before it gets personal.

Fruitie, we do appreciate the work of mods doing the unseen and unappreciated work to keep forum clean and tidy. By all means clean up the thread if the topic goes really off hand or when unrelated post crops up. Just asking for abit of common sense to prevail alright? smile.gif

i propose that anything related to the M2CP (application, waiver of AF, which FF program to credit to and matters relating to the 3 FF programs) be allowed to be discussed in this thread. If related to other programs / hotels then discussion goes to Frequent Flier thread.

All in all, we just want to enrich the community with knowledge.

i find mods here tend to be overzealous in their opinions and actions...

the conversion into ffp of points accrued through these cards, the decision of which ffp to use, and by extension, the relative merits of the 3 programmes this cards can convert into, are all relevant...

like any matter, many topics cross boundaries, it is almost impossible to silo off topics...the ff thread does not deal with cards, but with how to redeem miles for flights...would then if we discuss cards and which ffp we convert into, be considered "out of topic" in that thread?...

agree with raist....some common sense please...

I wish more forum members will speak up and then perhaps, just perhaps, the mods will take a step back and realize that sometimes what the majority want works out to be the best. Rules and regulations are meant to be changed and improved to meet demands, not set in stone. That's how society improves. Not just common sense but abit of democracy too.

No problem for me to mix up the discussion of the credit cards + FFP miles conversion as they are definitely related nod.gif

Good on you Raist for bringing up an issue 100% card related. Unfortunately I have no comments on this one.
Good luck in obtaining the TP under this campaign smile.gif

Folks ...

Looks like I'll have to step in. The focus on subjects allows to cater for the wide spectrum of our readers level of awareness.

Keep the discussion strictly to within the domains of the defined card product. Rate conversion of points (or spot/seasonal conversion promos) to whatever frequent flyer (FF) programs are fine but it should not go further than that. Each conversion are unique to respective card products and their detailed discussions should go into their respective card products.

FF programs have a section of its own and it'll remain that way for now.

As much as there's a strong temptation/arguments to do otherwise ... I'll advise our readers to keep to the confinements of the main topic relevancy or choose to deviate at your own peril. This thread started way back then as consolidated cc MBB. We allowed controlled fragmentation for MBB cc products based on the strength of the product and relevancy. (Products do die or lose popularity)

So please ... let's not go into the discussions on democracy etc just to get what you guys want. Democracy is also about the masses and not just to please a group of people. Our job is to cater for the masses as much as possible. (See how many views some threads pull) Many thanks to our readers/contributors for the continuing success of this thread. We always evaluate suggestions and we will implement functional ideas at the right time. So ...let's move on now.

Thanks to @fruitie for your summoning.

You forgot to comment about common sense? They assume we don't have any I guess.

Anyway, you made me look bad, you are always harsh with your words but this post doesn't look like one. laugh.gif

Back to this thread, I agree with what you said above.

TS, can always report/tag us if you think those posts are not relevant to this thread.

Why limit yourself to one only? Pick and choose which ones work best depending on the destination, availability and fees/taxes.

600k TP = about 125k miles which is about enough for a pair of round trip J to Japan I think. In this case Enrich tends to have the best availability.

For shorter trips, check the fees vs. cost to fly on Air Asia/Malindo. For me it's not worth it.
