Currently im looking for home bb, and im kinda interested to yes 1mbps home bb. Does it good for online gaming ? The coverage 4g lte and 4g bb is within my area

online gaming is not about speed but ping rate. normally BB had high ping. (ideal is <100ms)
If you play like FPS, do expect some spike.

If just CoC or strategy game, then its fine.

I also downgraded from MOP158 to MOP128 and for the wifey MOP128 to MOP98 due to unutilised data.

Try to port out from maxis to celcom..i get great counter offer from maxis  rm88 20gb+free samsung J5 with 2 years contract..
*
How they counter offer you? Have you went to the maxis center and do the port out process? Then while waiting for the confirmation sms, maxis CS call you and counter offer you over the phone?

QUOTE(stevenlee @ Jan 22 2017, 12:53 PM)
Not great offer if you Ling with them..
All more than 1 year are entitle to hv upgraded choice if they walk in
With rm98 package you can get rm128 package phone at same price
That is their practice for all long time customer
Some can even get free phone that offer under rm158 package if you long enough
How about rm98 for 15+10 with no contract
😝
*
Are you saying that after using maxis for 1 year(with or without contract?), just walk into their center and ask for "upgrade choice" over the counter? Or need to do the port out process and wait for them to counter off us on the spot?

MOP98 can get MOP128 or MOP158 phone off <--- part of the counter offer? need to tie with contract?

So your MOP98 for 15gb(all day data) + 10gb(weekend data) is what they counter offer to you when you walk into their center? Any contract when you do this?

QUOTE(stevenlee @ Jan 30 2017, 11:29 AM)
try walk in..
normally front desk will do the counter offer..
they will tell you if you qualified for any counter offer

Any recommended centers that can get better offer?

Maxis really horrible. I have 2 sub lines under value plus family for 30 a month each. Today, my sublines received sms saying they will be moved to another plan. Will include 1gb data but will be charged at rm38.

The thing is my sublines do not need data. Forcing people to pay extra for something we do not need is really unethical. Different story if they maintain it at rm30 a month.

If you have read their CEO press release regarding Maxis's earning than you will understand the price increase. This is to improve their arpu. Their earning forecast for 2017 is flat. It's time to consider other telcos.

any maxis center will do.
they actually base on your account to do the offer.

One of the reasons why I moved 2 of my maxis sublines to RedOne postpaid. Current offer of RM8 per mth.

I have been Maxis customer for over 15 years. Finally moving out bringing along all my supplementary lines. They have grown too expensive, forcing people to take their cheapest plan at RM98. And as we read, only when you want to move they will counter offer. Just like last year they offered some specials only to East malaysians. They have grown to be arrogant, trumping their so called quality of line and data. Subjective I will say.

When I asked to separate my spouse bill as first step to porting out, she received sms to say her rm30/1gb will now be "upgraded" to rm38/3gb. What a load of rubbish...

For rm28 @ Digi I can get 3gb/50min free calls/50 sms.
For rm28 @ Umobile I can get 3gb internet/3gb Video, 50 minutes free calls, 100 sms.

And Maxis is promoting this rm38/1gb package, with no free calls/data. Indirectly they want you to add rm10 to share with a main line who have to fork out rm98 for the cheapest One plan. confused.gif

As for myself I am switching to Maxis this coming week. For RM50/month I get:-

- unlimited calls
- 3gb internet (with rollover 1gb)
- 7 gb Facebook + Youtube.

As a businessman, I need unlimited calls. The data is more than sufficient for me. I think it's the best unlimited calls package in the market so far. Offer ends this 31st March 2017. As it is a limited offer, their Digi website won't show it but banners have been put up at Digi dealers, stores. Ask for it. I have posted picture of a banner, and a snapshot of what the Digi store will show you from their file.

Compared to Maxis cheapest one plan at rm98, I can save rm48 per month or nearly RM600 per year. And that's my one line alone. I'm porting out my whole family.

Of course people will say Maxis line is best... Come on, every telco will have their blind spots, weak areas. Depending on each individual and his preference for the telco. I can live with occasional slow speeds if I can save more than rm1000 per year.

I got a friend using surfmore plan and he received the letter too. I agree with you not everyone needs a supplementary line with data. Maxis should let users choose and not force on them.

Im in the process of mnp to celcom from maxis.

Final nail in the coffin for them was upgrading the surfmore30 plan to 38p/mnth with 3gb data. For my supplementary lines, that was not needed.

Pushing the price up for extra data was not what i wanted. They could have done it as an option but not as compulsory

Guys, wanna port out of Maxis as I'm mad over their One World charges, thing is this account of my family is under my Dad's name and one of the numbers in this account has subscribed a phone few months ago.

Now are all the numbers in that account stuck from porting out until that one number with a phone has finished the 2 years contract? I want to port out all the numbers other than the one with a phone (know I got no choice for that at the moment)

I have been with Maxis since 2001. Now strongly considering Digi Infinite 150. If Maxis offers something similar then I will stay
