I have been Maxis customer for over 15 years. Finally moving out bringing along all my supplementary lines. They have grown too expensive, forcing people to take their cheapest plan at RM98. And as we read, only when you want to move they will counter offer. Just like last year they offered some specials only to East malaysians. They have grown to be arrogant, trumping their so called quality of line and data. Subjective I will say.
When I asked to separate my spouse bill as first step to porting out, she received sms to say her rm30/1gb will now be "upgraded" to rm38/3gb. What a load of rubbish...
For rm28 @ Digi I can get 3gb/50min free calls/50 sms.
For rm28 @ Umobile I can get 3gb internet/3gb Video, 50 minutes free calls, 100 sms.
And Maxis is promoting this rm38/1gb package, with no free calls/data. Indirectly they want you to add rm10 to share with a main line who have to fork out rm98 for the cheapest One plan.
As for myself I am switching to Maxis this coming week. For RM50/month I get:-
- unlimited calls
- 3gb internet (with rollover 1gb)
- 7 gb Facebook + Youtube.
As a businessman, I need unlimited calls. The data is more than sufficient for me. I think it's the best unlimited calls package in the market so far.
Offer ends this 31st March 2017. As it is a limited offer, their Digi website won't show it but banners have been put up at Digi dealers, stores. Ask for it. I have posted picture of a banner, and a snapshot of what the Digi store will show you from their file.
Compared to Maxis cheapest one plan at rm98, I can save rm48 per month or nearly RM600 per year. And that's my one line alone. I'm porting out my whole family.
Of course people will say Maxis line is best... Come on, every telco will have their blind spots, weak areas. Depending on each individual and his preference for the telco. I can live with occasional slow speeds if I can save more than rm1000 per year.
