Guys I'm a little new to this keycap game, but I see that many of you guys here (and many others) prefer PBT over ABS.
Is it because of the durability of PBT from wear and tear (oil from finger)? Also, PBT has a rough surface compared to ABS no? Last question - advantages of PBT dye-sub? |

My 6 year old Steelseries 7G some keys registering multiple input sometimes. Any advice? like opening the cherry keys & cleaning the contacts, or maybe swap the keys with some less used keys etc.

My personal ranking: Is it because of the durability of PBT from wear and tear (oil from finger)? Also, PBT has a rough surface compared to ABS no? Last question - advantages of PBT dye-sub? 1. OG Cherry PBT/ABS or GMK or BSP 2. Imsto 3. Signature Plastics ABS 4. Everything else. For everything else: 1. PBT 2. ABS So, what I'm saying is that it's better to get cheap PBT than to get cheap ABS. |

PBT > ABS in terms of legend longetivity (except doubleshot) as PBT is a harder plastic compared to ABSIs it because of the durability of PBT from wear and tear (oil from finger)? Also, PBT has a rough surface compared to ABS no? Last question - advantages of PBT dye-sub? Another one is the "textured" surface of the caps compared to ABS (smoother) PBT dye-sub - again, advantage is legend longetivity as the dye is literally IN the plastic itself and the only way to wear the legend off is to shave the plastic, but only disadvantage is the color of the legend must be darker than the color of the caps (as to why please google up |

QUOTE(Ronin_Amin @ Mar 23 2016, 04:37 PM) QUOTE(justnits @ Mar 23 2016, 05:03 PM) +1 for polident. My dad steals mine for his dentures when he's in town also. Just remember to rinse thoroughly. QUOTE(irsyadfy @ Mar 23 2016, 05:27 PM) never knew my denture cleaners have another use It won't deteriorate. Just don't dry them with heat or under the sun. thanx for info. btw it will not deteriorate(dunno spell) the legends? If you're desperate for speedier drying, wrap them in a few towels, put them in lingerie bag (please tell me you have females in your household or just buy RM5 one from Daiso) and put in washing machine for low cycle. Then on to next step. Personally, I air dry in front of table fan with a towel underneath. Overnight the bitch and it'll be dryer than... well, it'll be dry enough. |
