QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 12 2016, 07:34 AM) Out of stock because, now in M'sia we don't have distributor for Filco already. Ah. Well that's sad. I was looking for a costar keyboard.Inter-ASIA(previous distributor) pulled out from the Filco not long ago. I updated and removed Inter-ASIA from first page not long ago. |

Hi guys. I'm looking to clean my keycaps. I've got a white keyboard 2nd hand so the keycaps are a bit dirty. Any tips on doing this? I found this guide online.

New cherry switches exclusive to corsair (for now).
http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/corsair...cherry-mx-speed Marketed towards gamers of course. I wonder if any keyboard enthusiasts would be interested in this? |

QUOTE(justordinary @ May 2 2016, 11:29 AM) I know keycool uses it. At least mine is. Cooler master rapidfire uses it but not the rapidfire-i. Best to check the specific model as some companies use both cherry and costar. |

Hi guys. I don't know if you all remember me but I asked here a few months ago about which switch to get.
So I went and bought a second hand keycool 87 with red switches. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As you can see, or not, because camera quality is potato, the keycaps are a bit dirty probably due to the white colour. So I took upon myself to clean it! You can already see the denture tablets on the upper left corner of the picture. Keycaps removed. Don't know if you can actually see but a lot of dust and hair in there. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Used a usb fan for drying the keycaps overnight. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The end product! A huge difference. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Big thanks to ripster555 from reddit for his cleaning guide. Notes: 1. Costar stabilisers really are frustrating to work with but with patience it can be done. 2. You need a little bit of force when pushing the keycaps out and into the stabilisers (on youtube and internet they all didn't mention this!) 3. Got a mini heart attack when keyboard was not detected by the computer when I plugged into it the first time. After a couple tries, it starts to work. 4. My backspace keycap does not have the black things under it (the ones that connect to the wire stabilisers). Any idea where to get some? 5. Overall satisfied with my purchase and choice of cherry mx red switches. Now to learn touch typing and fully use this keyboard. PS: Already been dreaming about getting a second keyboard |

QUOTE(ntw @ Jul 10 2016, 11:13 PM) dudeeeee........ to be fair, that taobao page put a lot of keyboards pics on it.the oil that you used to lube the switches was meant as a protective layer for the wooden wrist rest. nobody, not even ripster the crazy guy himself have tested using wood oil as a switch lube. kudos for carrying out the science for us. take apart all your "lubed" switches and wash them thoroughly in luke warm soap water. make sure everything is taken apart and washed separately. you should have two pieces of contact leaves, a spring, a stem, and top + bottom switch housing. |

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Jul 18 2016, 11:30 PM) Trying out the K70 Rapidfire keyboard now. Damn the 1.2mm actuation is damn sensitive.. It will register a click even with the slightest mis-touch.. I don't know if I'll stay or change to the Cherry MX Red version Personally interested to try those out. Haven't seen one out on display though. |

Hi guys. So I followed the advice that you guys gave to me and currently own a red and blue switch keyboards. Out of the two, I am preferring the red switch. Although it seems I make a lot more misspellings, I feel more comfortable with the reds.
My new questions is, should I be looking for other switches to try out? Or am I red switch type of guy? |

QUOTE(richard912 @ Jul 24 2016, 01:18 PM) Personally, I started with red (linear) and went on to blue before settling in with brown. I like the brown because it is tactile without the clicky-ness. My latest addition to the herd is MX clear. It's similar to the brown albeit "heavier", 60g vs 45g. I always thought that brown was kinda in between red and blue, so the only reason to get brown is because of the noise (or lack of). I'm guessing this is a wrong presumption? And so, it really depends on what you will be most comfortable with. |

QUOTE(richard912 @ Jul 24 2016, 03:15 PM) Goto the first post of this thread. It will give you a better idea of the different switches' attributes I could have never just determine if I like something by just reading or trying out the switches for a few secs in a shop.QUOTE(Chryos1029 @ Jul 24 2016, 09:00 PM) Me myself started with red like you and at first I hate it bcoz my wpm drop from 120 to like 80... Hmm, I guess I should try out browns next. Gateron red is similar to cherry reds? Topre is sadly too far out of my reach currently. Mx clears are quite rare no?And I put it back into the box and bought myself a brown and blue switch keyboards. Out of the two, blue is nvr the great choice but i love brown at first. But as I keep using it, I got bored of it and went back to red and found out I really love them. And finally I decided to get a topre 45g and they are great! But IMO red is also great especially gateron red. You can try out mx clear and some gateron switches if you like linear swithces. |
