6 months is kinda hard in our weather. I'd recommend Autoglym EGP or FK1000P. With regular maintenance (wash + spray wax) should last 3-4 months maybe. Meg Ultimate Wax is also okay but with slightly shorter durability in my experience. Those are synthetic wax (or sealant). If you are looking for natural wax, I don't have anything to suggest as I do not use natural wax. Natural wax gives a deeper gloss but is less durable than sealant.

Or you could go with those easy spray on SiO2 "coating". Should last a month or two.

Agree, can do also! But you've got to make sure you have a very neutral shampoo that won't leave stains behind. But you might not get the slick feeling from detailers, maybe another small bottle of cheap spray wax can mitigate that.

quick detailers (can be pricey) or diluted car wash (make sure it doesn't stain and is as neutral as it gets, I use Sensha Body Clean) in a spray bottle. most importantly use the right technique. spray on the poop and let it penetrate if it is dry. then spray on the microfiber cloth also, and try to gently lift it off the paint. don't rub it around. spray more if required. once lifted, expose a clean portion of the microfiber cloth and buff it dry gently.

Waterless wash. See here and here. I always keep one in the trunk. The good thing about this is that no rinsing is required and there is a bit of protection until the next car wash.

Spray liberally onto bird's droppings, let it soak for a while. Dab with microfiber towel. Don't wipe but try to pick up the bird's droppings "vertically" as the droppings might contain small stones that will scratch your paint if you use wiping action.

F1 wax is not advertised as a durable sealant so its not going to last long. Autoglym EGP is good but its old and outclassed by newer products in terms of durabillity. There was an earlier post to a durability test a few pages back that was flawed (see my earlier post) which overrated EGP above better products.

Collinite 476, FK1000p are good, I think Collinite is probably more durable. An all-on-one durable mild polish/sealant like permaglass which is locally available in Acehardware might work for you too.

Indeed in our weather, they won't last that long without some maintenance like spray waxes or spray coating. With the volume of rain we have to deal with even the best wax or coating cannot stop water stains from getting on your car and regular washing is required to keep your ride clean. After going through various waxes, sealants and spray waxes, I now go for the quickest high quality spray coating I can find (does not contain petroleum distillates, so I don't have to deal with streaking on a black car):Sensha Fine Crystal , and apply it fortnightly after washing.

Agree.. would say the key is regular maintenance. Not apply a product and expect it to last for months.
Applying spray waxes after every wash makes it easy to maintain. Dirt won't stick so much and is easily washed off. Water spotting is also minimised.

Agreed that EGP is old but IMHO, I do not think it is fair to call it outclassed. I have EGP on one of my cars since April this year and it is still going strong as I use spray wax after every wash. Having both FK1000P and EGP, I am inclinde to say that both of them has the same durability

I think it is up to personal preference then. EGP is a liquid and slightly easier to apply compared to paste type like FK1000P. And yes, I normally leave them at least an hour before buffing off.

Regarding the "overrated EGP" I believe you are referring to my earlier post on a UK car detailer's sealant and wax test. And the test vehicle is not a bus but a horse box. That was done 8 years ago. I have not seen others doing such comprehensive test since then.

Sealant test
Wax test

Now, there is this guy, interesting
The best wax sealant (jump to 9.18 as his video is long)

Btw just to share, been using the xpress wax (D15601) for my weekly wash the past 2 weeks... it is not 100% the same with the ultimate quik wax which i had used many many bottles of.

Ultimate quik wax is more concentrated. Xpress wax feels watered down. Initial application.. xpress wax has not much lubricity.. almost like water. But after it has been wiped off and left for 10mins it feels sleek and behaves almost the same as the quik wax. So all those comments i read in forums saying the 2 are exactly the same is not really correct..

erm i find the surface must be prepped (paint cleaner) prior to using C476 or Meguiar's M16. If not, they will not bond properly.

On a daily driver, I prefer wax/sealant with a bit of cleaners/fillers eg Meguiar's Ultimate Wax / Duragloss 105 / Meguiar's Cleaner Wax.

try to wax everymonth.. then QD/QuikWax/Sonax BSD/Duragloss Aquawax after every wash
