QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jun 11 2024, 10:25 PM) Hi everyone I just bought a 12V orbital polisher (China product). It comes with 3 types of pads and I want to use Meguairs Ultimate compound to remove swirls, water marks and small scratches on my 2 year old Honda. The extreme right pad ![]() May I ask which pad should I start with first? Of course I will wash the car and likely gently clay the surface. It currently has a layer of Soft Fusso 99 on it but I think its wearing out. QUOTE(Angry Clerk @ Jun 17 2024, 05:41 PM) Definitely need to polish off to redo again |

Guys,
Not sure this has been asked before or not. Have anybody here tried to polish the ppf surface before? I tried to google, the answer is not convincing enuf. Im planning to wrap the ppf at the front of the car and thw rest of the panel gonna leave it just as is followed by usual care method, coating/wax or sealant. The plan are after a year or 2 maybe need to reapply the coating on the ppf but prior to that for sure we need to prep the surface first. It wont be an issue to compound and polish for the rest of the panel, my concern is the panel which got ppf on it. How can we prep it to layer a new coating? |

QUOTE(eddie2020 @ Jul 14 2024, 08:15 PM) Which coating? If you don't mind spending a bit more, I'm using koch chemie GSF + Carpro Reset.BTW, thinking to change my car shampoo.. Using turtle brand currently.. Any intro? Recently mix this turtle as foam less I mix with blizzard lol.. CarPro Reset around Rm77 for 500ml at shopee, but its extremely concentrated, 1:500, means 10ml to 5L of water, clean very well. Koch Chemie GSF im using in a foam canon, 40~50ml to 1L in the canon, this one more expensive. Both of these are pure cleaning soap, means no wax added, usually i add last step protection on the after the wash. |

Hi guys, recently bought 2ndhand cars and now trying to do some detailings, does any of you tried to use stuff off the shelves in diy shops? I mean the cheap2 one, not like meguiars or TW. I know tools like pressure washer, foam cannon, wind blower, polisher also sometimes have cheap alternatives, have anyone played around with these?
Currently trying cheap local car shampoo, polishing and wax, some okay but some also very meh, so far don't see any SiO2 coating off the shelf that is cheap. For tool itself have MJJC clone foam cannon with upgraded orifices and filters, I can use generic dishwasher soap 1:50 and get thick foam for decon purpose lol. Recently trigger gun is leaking, so I'm grabbing o-rings to see if can fix the leak. I have random orbital sander thing so I bought some polishing pad from mrdiy, feels like the sponge doesn't last long, only good for several times before breaking down. Is waffle pad priced RM30 will be able to last long with proper DA polisher? |

Hi. For new car, City Pearl White, what should I do to clean my car?
Normal wash with water, dry with cloth, then use Soft99 Pearl & Metallic Wax? Not planning to do coating as of now. |

Ok done water spot remover using rhino above with the final car. Truly saves a lot of time instead of polishing but noticed it kills of ceramic spray coated vs graphene spray coated. So a gentle reminder to reapply ceramic or graphene spray that you guys have once done. Attached thumbnail(s) VeeJay liked this post

Hi, I’d like to ask fellow car owners with white paint if you experience stubborn stains after heavy rain? I notice black dust from the rain that sticks to my car, and even after washing with soap, it doesn't come off easily. I have to use wax to remove it. My car is already coated – I used IGL at the front and Carpro UK2.0 on the roof and rear, but isnt coating supposed to bead water? but after a heavy rain like few days, the hydrophobic effect gone. What's odd is that after washing, instead of water beading, it creates water sheeting. My current solution is to apply wax or use Carpro Reload 2.0 to quickly remove these stubborn black dust stains.
Car is solid white color... This post has been edited by incredibless: Sep 8 2024, 06:23 PM |

Its pretty normal because the rain is dirty and carries the dust that was on your car. From one of osren's videos, i use osren tough for stubborn stains. Then reapply spray wax until the next wash..Car is solid white color... |

Thinking to change the product.. Since fusso wax is the hard type abit difficult to applies and hard to make it spread even as paste or liquid type.. Recently purchased the soft 99 creamy shampoo n wax (orange packing) not sure if it's good.. Cause put it on your damp sponge and wipe to car then rinse.. Nor sure effective or not haha.. |
