Its a el cheapo Motorola CDR series Compatible duplexer. Have the same mounting as the much move expensive celwave series.

At USD50 expect an insertion loss of  shakehead.gif errr dunno.

Finally had some time to test out and install the GM338 over the weekend. As expected, very very sensitive radio with excellent audio. Need to tune the audio more to fully use the motorola unique compression and companding modes.

Performance? How do you weight performance on radio? Anyway .. I'll put my vote for products coming out from Japanese companies .. but for more bangs for the buck, I guess Wouxun surely win .. is it available locally? I usually checked eham.net for reviews before I bought anything.. and here what they've to say about wouxun..

wow look at the specs by this wouxun !! Dual Standby like the vx7 brows.gif These china radios are advancing very fast. I know a couple of local individual who had brought these in by the numbers. Hopefully not like puxings where it flooded the market and currently going to the landfill due to a PA chip that likes to blow with a spectacular black mist when you have a slightly bad tuned external antenna.

Are you sure it has dual VFO (dual monitoring) as what the high end radio has? Reading from the review, it seems that wouxun could display the two frequencies on the LCD but it works like priority channels .. where the main one will get priority over the second one (so, instead of dual audio source .. you'll get kind of alternative audio source). Something like what Puxing-888 has .. but I believe Puxing-888 is not dual bander.

The dual VFO function, is not a "true" dual VFO but acts more like a priority Scan. There are therefore no separate volume controls
for each band. VFO switching is achieved through the "A/B" button on top of the display, and a small black arrow on the display
shows the currenty selected VFO.

Get the VX8 then, got errrrr Triple monitor tongue.gif Listen to Mix FM and monitor another 2 stations. When either one of the station is active, the mix fm would be muted then back to mix fm when stations are non active. All 3 have individual volume control.

BTW whats the 2nd price for the VX8. Anyone interested?
