Thats a great idea, ok lets see. The vx8 still on its 5th charge or 6th charge. Honest reason for selling would be I cant get it to work off HAM band. I will pm you a good price tonight ok. Bought it at 1.8k I think. The VFO have no memory to it yet cos its been sitting on the shelf, I do not know what to do with it hehehe. Same goes to the VX3.

" Belum qso di jaluran. Selalu hanya qso di simpleks"

what is jaluran? what is simplek? isn't it is the same? both r using frequency... or that fella should say " belum qso di repeater." Actually i heard this alot of time on what ever frequency. whether simplex or repeater... can some1 explain.

mungkin maksudnya begini "belum pernah qso di jaluran = tak pernah berbual2 melalui repeater. Selalu qso di simplek = selalu berbual melalui simplex (point to point / simplex channel v17 - v69) kalau salah tolong deperbetulkan....

Added on November 5, 2009, 6:31 pmThere are a huge debate going around on this Q codes. I for one don't believe one should be communicating in Q codes for normal conversation, unless the signal and audio is that bad whereby its hardly audible.

I guess its fun to use Q codes to make the normal human out there guessing hahaha. Generally these codes are use for Morse Code where it is too tedious to dit dah over a morse code keyer.

QSO just mean a conversation or communication. You can google all the q codes and it is taught when you are applying for a Ham Radio license and somehow someone started using it and the newer hammer got stuck with it. Its good to know what these codes are but using it during voice communication to me at least I dont agree.

Not only Radio but SMS too now have their own super short abbreviated words which makes me reaching for a panadol.

Anyway there are 2 distinct group of people and they basically dont get along well on this topic.

Some sample of a highly modified Malaysianised Q Codes are

QRX and dissapear
QRT monitoring <---- If you shut down your set how to monitor?
QSY ke coffee bean <---- Change Frequency to Coffee Bean?
5/9 tapi ada goreng pisang <--- how come 5 by 9 but got background noise?
QTH di mana <--- alamak
Roger have become QSL

QRT means stop transmission. not shutdown the radio.
QSY means change frequency, not moving or going to somewhere


avoid using much of Q codes.
codes is suitable for cw operation. not voice.
