That's what I'm thinking, is there and adapter or some sort to support multiple fans.. I did some googling apparently some of them used phone chargers then wired the case fans to it  hmm.gif

You need this bro~!! 240V AC to 12V DC adapter....

Static Pressure are good for heat-sink. So higher CFM is better for exhaust but beware of high noise if the fan run at maximum speed for certain model.

+1, The Artic F12 is good for all applications IMHO its decently pushing air for its quietness and also has good static pressure.. quite affordable too wink.gif..

but yeah you could go with the higher CFM for exhaust but that would normally mean more noise as these fans tend to have higher RPM

the Silverstone AP is mostly good for intake as air travels in a straight column for that fan but have ppl says that they're quite loud

I'm looking for 140mm fans to add 2 intakes and 1 exhaust on the corsair 300r. The only 140m fan i've heard is Scythe Slip Stream but I haven't seen one before. Can you guys recommend something? No LED definitely, has to be rather quiet though. Look good too because it's going on a side window thumbup.gif

Also looking for 2 120mm for cm 212 evo cpu cooler. I see a lot recommendations on artic F12, but wundering if there's any better static pressure fans. Though the f12 does look good sweat.gif

for the 140mm fans you could go for the Bitfenix spectre which is available in black or white, other than that there are the xigmatex xlf series and noctua will have some 140mm as well

120mm just go for the F12, not saying they are the best but compared to noctua, noiseblockers and scythe the price is much more affordable.... just make sure you get the PWM version if you are strapping it onto the HSF wink.gif

Thanks for the info. I have to ask though what is PWM? I also have been looking at the scythe gentle typhoon, it looks likes a really quite fan. Now i just have to decide between these two. The 140mm I'll probably go with the bitfenix spectre

PWM = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulse-width_modulation
many fan maker will advertise their pwm fan as "quietest", because pwn fan can spin at lowest speed, compare to 3 pins fan, which are controller by voltage.
for example i have 2 delta fan, one is 3 pin and a pwm version.
if both fan speed are controlled by cpu fan software/bios, when your cpu is idle, pwm fan can go as low as 800 rpm(depend on model), and it does not have "cold-start" problem tongue.gif
while voltage controlled fan cannot do that, it will spin at at least 1500rpm(high ampere fan only lol) or higher to prevent the fan stopped spinning, some fan will simply stalled cause not enough voltage. and some 3 pin fan usually dont spin(eg noctua flx-p14), until your mobo/cpu warmed up(depend on start up voltage, and how you configure the fan setting via bios/software).

Wow, thanks for the good info biggrin.gif
So pwm is a good thing? That makes the arctic cooling sound better because it can be quieter when idle and still cool when hot. But I can't seem to find specs on the arctic cooling website to compare though. I read that the gentle typhoons are really silent though. And since I'm only getting 2 for HSF I don't mind paying that little bit more money. I wanna be sure that extra I pay for is worth it though :/ I'm also not so sure on the ability of the gentle typhoons, both CFM and static pressure

Yeap, pwm fans are great, here is the f12 review http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/d...oundup-1_2.html
http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=60147
yes GT is silent, but its really hard to mount into HSF, especially if your HSF is Thermalright or Noctua, which using the steel clips,
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/d...p_18.html#sect0
plus GT has large fan hub, which it is not a good thing, large fan hub = bigger dead spot on heatsink, unless using fan shroud.
i've tried many fans actually, 1600rpm fan is already enough, high speed fan dont reduce much temps and its loud as hell, especially those are over 2000rpm.

Im using Noctual p12 1600rpm PWM version though, except the ugly color and a little bit pricey, its a great fan actually.

Yeah I think I'll save some money and go for the f12 pwm. Thanks so much for the info biggrin.gif The pwm is gonna make things easier for me

the F12 PWM will have variable speeds due to the PWM function... unless you attach it to a 12V/3-pin fan header which will let it run at 1300RPM (max speed).. so it will be audible, but not too noisy

the Aerocools has a rated top speed of 1500RPM and yes will run at top speed as it doesn't have PWM function... it is quite noisy but it comes with a 7V adaptor to slow the fan down to 800RPM making it silent.. but it also diminishes the airflow

I would recommend the F12 over the Aerocool as the PWM function really helps to regulate the temps by cranking up the speed of the fans when needed.. unless you have a fan controller module.. the Aerocools are not really a viable choice when compared to the F12

oh BTW, the F12 are easier to clean compared to the slim fins of the Aerocool sweat.gif
