Gelid Wing UV fan 12cm arent that great imho, i had afew of them install on my casing for exhaust, when running at fullspeed, can barely feel any air passing the fence at all, plus its very expensive,
im not sure the new LED-powered 1800 rpm already improved.

now using NBM-MAT 0.22A 12cm fans, duno the RPM but the airflow is stronger than Gelid uv wing, amprere also lower too.

while Silverstone AP121 is only recommend for Intake, not for exhaust or use as heatsink fan.

One more things for Gelid UV wing, the fan is noisy lol doh.gif
And the rated CFM is actually lower than official spec given by Gelid.
If you wan UV you can go with this fan, the bearing on this fans are better than average cheapo fans.
AP121 also uv reactive but only suitable for intake.

There are more better fans out there with better CFM/noise ratio.
like Scythe S-FLEX, GT, Noiseblocker series, Enermax Magma, Noctua and Arctic.
^ expensive fan, no uv and no led bling-bling.

no, the rpm rating given by enermax is fixed and its the maximum, the fan cannot run faster than 900rpm no matter what fan controller you use.
thats why its called silent fan.

Magma or Appolish vegas both are performance fans that will run at 2000 rpm, but apolish is LED bling bling fan.

wat is best budget fan?
*
Scythe fans, the are quite cheap imho, like this one http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/026/...5sl_detail.html
Not Gentle Typhoon and the S-FLEX series fans, they use better bearing and last longer.

Arctic fans all use Fluid Dynamic Bearing one,
really dont know about the Xigmatek fans vs Arctic,
if wanna run both Arctic and Xigmatek fans at full speed, Xigamtek might be noisier but of course depends of fans RPM rating. imho.

Plus Xigamtek's fan use Sleeve Bearing, its quite at its ealier life, but when the sleeve bearing started to wear out/oil dried, it will make ratting/vibration noise and will eventually become dead fan.

CM fans are crappy imho, except the excalibur(fluid bearing) and blade master, they use better bearing but im duno about the CFM rating.
R4 90CFM probably tipu one lol.

I would prefer F12 over cm fan anytime sweat.gif

oic. so if i wan to use this f12 as my intake fan, at the front panel, will it do its job of pulling lots of air in? i saw the spec , only 57 cfm. any others fan to recommend for me to use as intake fan?
*
Arctic F12 is a silent fan. Unless you are overclocker or your casing has poor airflow and your pc is overheating, high airflow fan usually are noisier unless they have large propeller,eg 14cm, 18cm or larger dimensions fans.
There are afew 14cm fans on the market, most of them have better airflow than 12cm fans at lower speed and noise level, but your thermaltake v3 does not have place for 14 cm fans.

If you want high airflow and dont mind the noise, you can try Scythe slip stream 12cm, but like clawhammer said, they may sounds like jet engine sweat.gif

here are some 12cm fans roundups

so i would like to ask, most of u here use which fan for the front panel? a high cfm fan? i plan to get the arctic f12 but as u mentioned, it is a silent fan, will it do it job in improving the airflow of the casing?
*
Well currently im using cm690, was using stock fans, 1200rpm, silent fan but im overclocker sweat.gif
second fan was Gelid silent 12cm PWM 1500rpm, also pushing a 58CFM amount of airflow.
now using 2 Thermalright TR-FDB 1900rpm fan as intake sweat.gif very noisy, CFM should be 72 or above.

Well if you install 2 F12 as front intake and running at full speed, it would make a total of 114CFM airflow if im correct.
it will certainly improve the casing airflow, and lowering the temp if 2 exhaust fans also installed.

oic. but then the prob is i only have 1 12cm intake there. how's the gelid silent? is it good as intake? i have 2 exhaust but i think the total cfm is about 95 like tat.
*
Gelid silent isnt exactly a silent fan, when running at 1500rpm, it will produce tonal noise, i had two of them installed a front intake, very easy to identify the noise but of course not really that noisy.
i still think F12 may be still quieter than gelid fans.
and make sure your intake CFM is more than exhaust, else it will create vacuum effect on your casing which dust will enter your casing ventilation holes which isnt protected by dust filters.
and soon your cpu heatsink will be clogged with tons of dust, and any other parts as well.

How about the Feser Trievwerk ?
*
Feser Triebwerk is radiator fan which i dont think you can install it as intake or exhaust, since its much more longer,
its almost 2x of standard 120mmx25mm fans' thickness.

warghh!! help me..

I fell dizzy already looking on the net about case fans.

dunno which brand to go.

I'm currently having 6 AC Ryan 12cm case fans for my casing. I plan to change all the fans cz it already old.
should i stay with AC Ryan or try another Brand.

can y'all suggest me very good fan in term of better cooling and acceptable noise.

1. Ac Ryan
2. Xigmatek?
3. Artic?
4. Scythe?
5. ???
*
Artic if you want better CFM, longer MTBF and acceptable noise.
Scythe SFLEX SFF21E 1500rpm, or Gentle Thypoon, but they are more pricey compare to Artic fan.
Ac Ryan and Xigmatek is both UV and led fans which are more into cosmetics.
if you really want both bling bling and better CFM/noise ratio, i can only suggest you Enermax fan, thought i have not yet tried them before sweat.gif

so if i use f12 as rear fan, what is ur recommended fan for intake (front).
i need 140mm fan for my intake, its really hard to get a suitable one in LYN.

please recommend....
*
What is your casing? there are quite afew good 140mm fan,
for example the Noctua P14FLX, CFM around 60 @ 1200RPM, Slipstream 140mm, CFM is 90 @ 1700RPM. Thermalright TY-14 aint bad too, 74CFM @ 1300 RPM.
the fans i recommended above are 140mm fans with 120mm mounting holes.

Noctua 14cm is on expensive side, but it does comes with 140mm adapter kit too, this fan is compatible with both 120mm and 140mm mounting holes.

Xigmatek, Noiseblocker, Thermalright an also have 140mm fans with only 140mm mounting holes too.
thats all i know.

This one im not sure sweat.gif
Though some shops in Singapore's Sim Lim Square does sell Noctua and Noiseblocker fans, but the Distro in SG only bring in afew model, not full range of Noiseblocker fans.

Yea i know it's a hassle to type the same thing over again and again..but it's too much for me to read from the first to the last page  sad.gif  In my opinion, someone can pin a special thread talking about casing fans  laugh.gif Anyway, all of those fans mentioned by u...where can i get it?Lowyat plaza?PcDepot?

You cann contact clawhammer, He is selling Scythe GT and F12, but both fan's blade arent detachable.
http://forum.lowyat.net/user/clawhammer

So far i know only Gelid and Enermax fan's blade are detachable, but duno the availability in Msia.

you may simply connect high speed/noisy fan to 7v or 5v via modified molex, use Fan controller, or Mobo fan controlling utility, Asus and Gigabyte mobo also have one.
for silent fan review you can read here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article695-page1.html

Oh static pressure...
IIRC i did read a article about how to increase fan static pressure, but i didnt bookmark it sweat.gif
here is another way to increase static pressure sweat.gif

if you connect the extension to Molex 12v, you can connect as many as you want if your fan is typical desktop pc DC Fans.
each Mobo fan header only support 8Watt iirc. and your fan is 0.16A rated fans, 12V x 0.16A = 1.92W.
you can connect 4 fans totally.

if your fan's ampere higher than 0.16 and you connect many fans at the same extension, the fan may spin slower, or some other fans may not start at all.
or your mobo might burnt (not very sure about this) sweat.gif

Delta fan sure burnt lah, but depend on ampere, 0.6A is near max for mobo already.
but i hear MSI mobo can support up to 3A, which is 36Watt.

Ati 4890 graphic card pwm fan header can support up to 1.3A, 15Watt, i duno the maximum since i dont have any fan higher than 1.3A.

if really wan to control high ampere fan, use Lamptron fan controller.

These Arctic fans have sensor? (e.g. use for CPU cooler)
user posted image
*
Sensor? thats PWM fan(stock AMD and intel hsf also uses pwm fans) which all mobo CPU fan header should support it.
Normal 3 pin fan also can be use as cpu cooler fan too, as most mobo also support control the fan via voltage, instead the default PWM.

Hi, i am going to add extra fan at bottom of my case, picture above show it all, intake or exhaust? need recommend... This is the fan i going to get to fit the style of my case http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=77
*
Should be intake for bottom, and may be add one more fan at 5.25'' bay?
Too must exhaust fan will create low pressure on your casing, which dust will enter your casing where didnt covered by dust filter.
