no, the rpm rating given by enermax is fixed and its the maximum, the fan cannot run faster than 900rpm no matter what fan controller you use.
thats why its called silent fan.

Magma or Appolish vegas both are performance fans that will run at 2000 rpm, but apolish is LED bling bling fan.

Scythe fans, the are quite cheap imho, like this one http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/026/...5sl_detail.html
Not Gentle Typhoon and the S-FLEX series fans, they use better bearing and last longer.

If you don't mind your PC to sound like jet engine then go ahead and get the Slipstream smile.gif Even the S-Flex are noisy. The only fans that are NOT noisy is Gentle Typhoon but it's really expensive. At the same time, you can purchase Arctic F12 fans which does the same job 1 times cheaper (RM30 each only) smile.gif

the fan can be change, just like normal fan

just take it out and replace it

p.s. i'd just replaced mine, 2 out of 6 fans gave up, and 1 is going there soon so i replaced all six of them
one of them comes with the chassis so yeah
just take it out, replace it

Question
where can i buy a fan grill?

Added on October 9, 2010, 2:27 ambtw,both F12 and F12 pro use Fluid Dynamic Bearing,right?

Arctic fans all use Fluid Dynamic Bearing one,
really dont know about the Xigmatek fans vs Arctic,
if wanna run both Arctic and Xigmatek fans at full speed, Xigamtek might be noisier but of course depends of fans RPM rating. imho.

Plus Xigamtek's fan use Sleeve Bearing, its quite at its ealier life, but when the sleeve bearing started to wear out/oil dried, it will make ratting/vibration noise and will eventually become dead fan.

hi,
i got a few q about fan configuration for my thermaltake v3.
current configuration
1 rear exhaust fan - ( came with Tx3)
1 top exhaust fan - ( Thermaltake turbo fan - 50cfm / 1400RPM)

and now i would like to consider of getting another intake fan for front panel and bottom, so that i can get a positive pressure configuration. currently in my mind for both intake will be CM R4. n i saw many of u are talking about F12. which one is more recommended for me? current budget about rm40 per fan. n is there any advise on my fan configuration?

CM fans are crappy imho, except the excalibur(fluid bearing) and blade master, they use better bearing but im duno about the CFM rating.
R4 90CFM probably tipu one lol.

I would prefer F12 over cm fan anytime sweat.gif

Xigmatek fans are better if you want cosmetics biggrin.gif If you want a proper air flow fan that does the job and last long then Arctic F12. I've tested with my GT, no big deal and price is 1 fold cheaper.

oic. so if i wan to use this f12 as my intake fan, at the front panel, will it do its job of pulling lots of air in? i saw the spec , only 57 cfm. any others fan to recommend for me to use as intake fan?

Arctic F12 is a silent fan. Unless you are overclocker or your casing has poor airflow and your pc is overheating, high airflow fan usually are noisier unless they have large propeller,eg 14cm, 18cm or larger dimensions fans.
There are afew 14cm fans on the market, most of them have better airflow than 12cm fans at lower speed and noise level, but your thermaltake v3 does not have place for 14 cm fans.

If you want high airflow and dont mind the noise, you can try Scythe slip stream 12cm, but like clawhammer said, they may sounds like jet engine sweat.gif

here are some 12cm fans roundups

been reading this thread (back 10 pages lol) and I notice if its 140mm fans Xigmatex seems to be top of the list.. So aesthetically does the fan looks nice? and is it quiet compared to.. lets say... the stock CM 140mm fan in the CM690II? currently looking at options to actually make my Rig looks nice wink.gif

Howabout the cheapo 140mm fans selling at LYP for Rm15 like that?? lol do they actually spin at all?

Well currently im using cm690, was using stock fans, 1200rpm, silent fan but im overclocker sweat.gif
second fan was Gelid silent 12cm PWM 1500rpm, also pushing a 58CFM amount of airflow.
now using 2 Thermalright TR-FDB 1900rpm fan as intake sweat.gif very noisy, CFM should be 72 or above.

Well if you install 2 F12 as front intake and running at full speed, it would make a total of 114CFM airflow if im correct.
it will certainly improve the casing airflow, and lowering the temp if 2 exhaust fans also installed.
