If you want to go technical, the differences can be listed down a long list of paper. But in real-world and subjective hearing, the difference are much more down to preference and usability.
People would use front ported bookshelfs/towers/sats if they absolutely need to place it right up against the wall due to space issues (very common in SOHO or studio apartments). This prevents port flaring for one and bass can be increased due to the close proximity against a back wall (again in a small space, a sub may be difficult to place).
But if you were to place a pair of front ported and rear ported speakers at the usual optimal location (2-3ft off the back wall, 4-6ft off the side wall), the differences are usually down to preferences of the listener.
In fact it's difficult to even compare apples to apples because a rear ported bookshelf design cannot have the same properties as a front ported bookshelf even if they are from the same manufacturer, done by the same designer and integrated by the same engineer. I mean the front baffle itself would already need to be different in shape and size vs a rear ported box. Not to mention countless other things like the crossover, the phase, the size of the driver and so on. It's simple physics, you just can't bend it.
There's never "best". It's more of if you are satisfied or not. There are many people who are satisfied with TV audio and they don't think any bigger speakers will have an improvement. So there's that.

May I know what model of AVR u use? Actually I'm now doing some survey before i buy the receiver. However, what i found currently in Malaysia the AVR that came with Atmos and DTS X is still limited. I can say i found it most were ONKYO brand.
Another thing, what's the recommended AVR wattage for small home theater room? I'm planning from now to setup a 7.1 system and use a 5.1.2 atmos layout in that room.

Almost every brand has it. Onkyo, pioneer, denon, Yamaha, marantz. I am currently using the Yamaha A3050. Not sure what is your room size but for 5.1.2 entry level AVR will do fine.
I still have a plenty of time. Hope starting next year, when a more model in the market and hopefully the price will go down a bit. My budget can't be more than 4k. Within that budget, I'm willing to maximize the chanel wattage output as high as i can.
The rest i have to look to completing it with a speaker and a sub.
Marantz SR5010 is RM3.3k or less, pretty decent receiver with Atmos and DTSX.
Either that or wait for the Yamaha v681/v781 or A860.
Marrantz price as per you mention really attractive. Actually I'm at northern region and currently not so many shop I can visit. Maybe sometime I must try to look in Penang also.
