In light of the recent harassment issue on a Grab driver & his riders; http://cdn2.thecoverage.my/news/malaysia-v...ers-gone-viral/

Really, how on earth those thugs managed to catch the Grab driver? I always thought the common way is for SPAD to disguise as riders. Or if SPAD/police were conducting a roadblock, should be able to quickly shut down our phones & keep it when you noticed the road block.

Anyone knows of any drivers who managed to get their car back from SPAD?

The article is feud between taxis and grab driver right? Nothing to do witn spad and i believe spad is leaving grabcar and uber alone right now. So did spad take any cars right now? Last time maybe, now i havent heard off any.

Police was there too, yes SPAD isn't there but those thugs were calling SPAD (from the clip can hear them said need to take 3 videos as evidence for SPAD). That's why they're "detaining" the driver so that SPAD can take action on the driver. If the police wasn't there.....the driver will probably be KO-ed, but still disappointed that the police didn't stop those taxi drivers from going full retard. By right the Grab driver don't have any obligations to obey those thugs anyway.

most likely due to the passengers at the back seat and they say the apps running on the phone mount on the dashboard?

Scare tactic only. Dont think spad can do anything. I heard myself in buletin utama that spad says they wont do anything to uber or grabcar right now.

If any taxi tried to bother the drivers when i am the passenger, the taxi driver will definitely get it from me. I am waiting for the day. Idiots.

Hi guys,

I drive both for GC and Uber. Looking to do full time GC or Uber now. Any tips?

Looked thru the past few pages of this thread, just want to share some experience with Uber and GC.

Normally Uber passengers are of more quality. Mostly local professionals who are decent and polite. I never had a bad experience with Uber Passengers. (Over 120 trips)

As for GC, GC makes more money, ie min. trip is Rm7 but the passenger quality is really bad sometimes. Don't mean to be racist here, but a lot of sakai foreigners. I had 3-4 bad experiences with GC passengers over about 50 trips. 2 really memorable ones.

1. A middle eastern passenger once lighted up a cigarette in my car. Windows was locked so he could not wind down the window. I was protesting, courteously i would add, unlocked the window and told him its a non smoking car. Passenger went batshit and starts racially insulting me. I ended up stopping the car and told him to remove himself. He burnt my seat and carpet with his cigarette bud. Had to call GC to make a complaint. Ride was from Bangsar to Kota Damansara. Didn't manage to get a single cent from him. GC ended up refunding my credits but no fare.

2. An African possible passenger called me. Told him i would only arrive in 15mins (according to waze) to his pickup in Sunway Mentari Court. He said ok, after 5mins kept calling my phone non stop. I did not pick up as i was driving(forgot my handsfree that day). Finally picked up when i was at a traffic light, passenger again started insulting me and screaming bat shit crazy. I cancelled the request, that guy ended up calling me non stop to harass me with sms text included (Screenshot too racist and vulgar to post here) made an official report to GC, GC ended up suspending that account because apparently it was not the first time.

All in all I really think Uber has better passenger quality. Fingers crossed i don't meet any nutcases. icon_rolleyes.gif

This is the exact reason why I only drive for Uber even though GC has been bombarding me with SMS to join them, and so called incentive and pay better, etc. It's just not worth the trouble.

Hi ieian81,

1. Is 10am to 11am, 2pm to 4pm, 8pm to 9pm on weekdays consider 1 block?
2. Is 10am to 9pm on Sunday consider 1 block?
3. If I pick up a rider in core area but the destination is non-core area, due to bad traffic jam in non-core area, I fail to achieve 70% of the time during the PHG block. So I will not get the PHG incentive?
4. I am not pro in all KL route, if I don't know the way, the Uber Partner App can guide us the route? like Waze?
5. Can rider request cross state (KL to Ipoh) thru the Uber App? Is this allow in Uber Rider App?

Thank you.
*
1) Weekdays 6am to 10am is considered one block. 11am to 2pm is one block. 4pm to 8pm is one block. This is from memory, I am unsure if there are changes, didn't read the latest email.

2) Looking at the picture you posted, yes

3) I think the percentage has been adjusted lately, but yes you won't get the PHG if you are out of the core area more than the allowed percentage.

4) The Uber Partner app can open Waze or Google Map depending on your preference.

5) I am unsure if they can request or if there's such a silly rider, but no you can't travel interstate. You can just end the trip and make a report to Uber.
