QUOTE(ieian81 @ Apr 13 2016, 07:59 AM) Promotion that involves throwing prices is certainly not a good strategy. Understand, but last month they deduct rm5 per trip for 5 whole days for me. So it was rm3 last month, and rm1 dollar this month.I did try using GC for the first time during this RM1 promotion, but that's purely for the price, not going to use again after the promotion ends. Still prefer Uber. I mean who needs lrt to go to work? Anyway i live in maluri and work near klcc, so less than 5km away. Anyway thumbs up for both uber and grabcar for giving me alternative to taxis. Previously i used taxis for the past 5 year and only uses uber or gc for the past 5 months to work. And i dont think im going to use taxis anymore to work. Serves them right when they increase the fare last year. Now they want to bitch about gc and uber. Tell them go fly kite. |

QUOTE(iOnine @ Apr 13 2016, 09:01 AM) it is called Data mining Well telling everybody here, the promo is only for credit card users only. They want people who use gc to switch to credit card and not cash.for you its free ride. for them its precious as they have your data in their system plus, theyre trying to steal uber riders to convert to grab. tbh, most riders (using card) prefers uber than grab. as they say, uber partner mostly friendlier and professional rather than grab. And thats why the credit card users are heavily using gc currently because of the promo. Just for u uber drivers fyi. This post has been edited by BuyAmaya: Apr 13 2016, 03:10 PM |

QUOTE(iOnine @ Apr 13 2016, 03:52 PM) after promo. will u use gc or uber? I always compare uber and grabcar price when i want to travel. So u have to use gut feeling for uber though. Basically if you think uber is cheaper on that ride than take uber. id suggest: - short distance go uber - long distance go gc. but if ure the type that dont care bout the $$ then id say go for GC. as in 5km radius, typically ull have min 20 gc drivers waiting for rider as for uber, its less than 10 drivers. did u get cancellation (not during the promo period) upon you req for gc? most gc driver tends to take cash instead of grabpay. But in the end if no drivers for uber i have to take grabcar, and if i want to take grabcar but no grabcar takers then i just hailed uber. No matter what. And no taxis for me, unless no uber or grabcar. So no choice. Personally with all the promo from gc, gc is cheaper i believe for me, just for the 5km radius. However i know if u are lucky, uber can be much cheaper than gc. And another rule of mine, i wont take uber if there is a surge. Only did once 1.4x i believe. Coz i dont have the gc app yet last time. I have more cancellation on uber rather than gc. Gc hard to get cancellation because the driver knows in advance where i am going, so if they dont want to take me, they just dont take me. Depends on the cash thing. I have heard stories where people who pay cash, dunt have enuff money and the driver cannot do anything. So personally, if i am the driver, i prefer credit card. And as a customer, i prefer paying by credit card. And as a person uses this service everyday, i have heard a lot of horror stories from both uber and grabcar drivers. There was one story where a customer shit in the car coz cannot tahan. It was at night time. The customer ask for a plastic bag and shit in it. Crazy! I always like to interview the drivers on their experience...i mean maybe i want to be an uber or grabcar driver in d future. Who knows. |

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Apr 14 2016, 01:46 AM) In light of the recent harassment issue on a Grab driver & his riders; http://cdn2.thecoverage.my/news/malaysia-v...ers-gone-viral/ The article is feud between taxis and grab driver right? Nothing to do witn spad and i believe spad is leaving grabcar and uber alone right now. So did spad take any cars right now? Last time maybe, now i havent heard off any.Really, how on earth those thugs managed to catch the Grab driver? I always thought the common way is for SPAD to disguise as riders. Or if SPAD/police were conducting a roadblock, should be able to quickly shut down our phones & keep it when you noticed the road block. Anyone knows of any drivers who managed to get their car back from SPAD? |

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Apr 14 2016, 04:04 AM) Police was there too, yes SPAD isn't there but those thugs were calling SPAD (from the clip can hear them said need to take 3 videos as evidence for SPAD). That's why they're "detaining" the driver so that SPAD can take action on the driver. If the police wasn't there.....the driver will probably be KO-ed, but still disappointed that the police didn't stop those taxi drivers from going full retard. By right the Grab driver don't have any obligations to obey those thugs anyway. Scare tactic only. Dont think spad can do anything. I heard myself in buletin utama that spad says they wont do anything to uber or grabcar right now.If any taxi tried to bother the drivers when i am the passenger, the taxi driver will definitely get it from me. I am waiting for the day. Idiots. |

QUOTE(TAGreptiles @ Apr 14 2016, 11:14 AM) Hi guys, Agree that uber have better quality passengers. But the true story of a foreigner shit in the car is from an uber driver. So depends lah.I drive both for GC and Uber. Looking to do full time GC or Uber now. Any tips? Looked thru the past few pages of this thread, just want to share some experience with Uber and GC. Normally Uber passengers are of more quality. Mostly local professionals who are decent and polite. I never had a bad experience with Uber Passengers. (Over 120 trips) As for GC, GC makes more money, ie min. trip is Rm7 but the passenger quality is really bad sometimes. Don't mean to be racist here, but a lot of sakai foreigners. I had 3-4 bad experiences with GC passengers over about 50 trips. 2 really memorable ones. 1. A middle eastern passenger once lighted up a cigarette in my car. Windows was locked so he could not wind down the window. I was protesting, courteously i would add, unlocked the window and told him its a non smoking car. Passenger went batshit and starts racially insulting me. I ended up stopping the car and told him to remove himself. He burnt my seat and carpet with his cigarette bud. Had to call GC to make a complaint. Ride was from Bangsar to Kota Damansara. Didn't manage to get a single cent from him. GC ended up refunding my credits but no fare. 2. An African possible passenger called me. Told him i would only arrive in 15mins (according to waze) to his pickup in Sunway Mentari Court. He said ok, after 5mins kept calling my phone non stop. I did not pick up as i was driving(forgot my handsfree that day). Finally picked up when i was at a traffic light, passenger again started insulting me and screaming bat shit crazy. I cancelled the request, that guy ended up calling me non stop to harass me with sms text included (Screenshot too racist and vulgar to post here) made an official report to GC, GC ended up suspending that account because apparently it was not the first time. All in all I really think Uber has better passenger quality. Fingers crossed i don't meet any nutcases. And my theory why uber has more quality customer because the customer have to use credit card to pay. So people who own credit card have more concern of his reputation and people who own credit card are not like some bangla who works at plantation or something. |

QUOTE(propusers @ Apr 15 2016, 04:10 PM) Is that from penan, the fb?Anyway talking about penang, their taxi charge much worse. All not using meter and minimium payment was rm15 short distance. And this was before the last hike increase. Dun know how much is it now. Serves them right if they are now suffering. Imagine like 2km ride was rm15 each time. Me and my friends regretted didnt bring a car. Damn expensive to travel. |
