QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Oct 28 2005, 09:54 PM) try converting it into a higher bitrate mp3.... mp3s with bitrate lower than 128 sounds terrible, esp 96 and 64, they usually have clicking, ticking, or some background noises Bad idea dude If you convert a mp3 file for example from a 128kbps to 160kbps it is no use as the quality didn't even improve a single bit. You only add more chunks of data which increases the overall filesize only. It is best to rip from cd and specify the bitrate than transcoding an already available compressed file. The only thing he can do is to use filters to make it sound better than the original. Conclusion being said, the best thing to do is, don't transcode anything, just leave it as it is This post has been edited by shinjite: Oct 30 2005, 04:31 AM

I have a problem. I use WinAVI to convert rmvb to MPEG1, the size is around 670MB after converted. Then I use Nero to encode & burn it into VCD but after finish encoding, the file size has exceeded more than 800MB. How come the size suddenly increase? How can I burn it into a 700MB CD-RW? I really dont get it. This rmvb to vcd thing is really driving me nuts!

QUOTE(huruhara @ Nov 2 2005, 12:05 AM) i 've convert avi to mpeg using TMPgenc..but the problem is where's the sound/audio.? dissapear..b4 convert ok..can hear the sound plz help me.. Check your source avi audio codec. Do the avicodec on the source. Usually if your source is MP3 or AC3 VBR, then you cannot use TMPEG to encode the audio. If this is the case, then you need to use Vdub to extract the audio from the avi to wav format and then use Besweet to encode it to MP2 format. If this sounds complicated, then get DIKO and your problem solves.

Ah, ignore my question. I found the solution already.
I am now using winavi. I converted .rm files to divx, then used virtualdub to export to .bmp files. Next, I used PIXresizer to mass convert bmp files to gif. Lastly I used gimp to make the animation. UnFREEze works well too.
The result is my newly created animated avatar and signature
