Yes, however the first step (GSpot) is necessary to see if you have the proper codecs installed. Just use tmpgenc. Refer to the guide below: http://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

Well thanks there...I got TMPGEnc but dunno got such function! Well is it really they can convert any AVI format (eg DivX, XviD) to VCD format? (in .dat rite?). If my AVI file is ~700MB can it fit into a CD-R? or 2 CD-Rs? Well, is this software, avi2vcd good? Looks simple, quality wise? http://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=encoding12.html

Yes, and no. Yes, can convert almost any AVI format; no because an 80min CD can hold up to 80 minutes of VCD. So, if your source is longer than that, you have to cut it. VCD specifications linkAs for avi2vcd, I don't know. I don't use that program. Why don't you try it and compare with tmpgenc and other encoders?

DVD-rip that download from P2P. U can convert them to MPEG easily without any problem even it with VBR audio that TMPGenc hate about. The software I'm talking about is MainConcept MPEG Encoder. Beside another alternative is Boilsoft AVI to VCD SVCD DVD Converter This post has been edited by allenultra: Aug 7 2004, 11:00 PM

method 1: - use CDex or dBpowerAMP Converter - direct convert MP3 to WAV
method 2: - use Winamp - Option --> Preference --> Output plugins --> Nullsoft Disk Writer - Configure --> Convert to format: PCM 44.1kHz, 16-bit stereo - choose save location, open the MP3 file, covert process wil begin.
method 3: - use Sound Forge or Adobe Audition. - open MP3 file, save in PCM 44.1kHz, 16-bit stereo

| QUOTE (P.I.M.P @ Jun 13 2004, 04:46 PM) | hey ppl,
are .wma file smaller than .mp3 files?...coz when i encoded a .mp3 file to .wma file...the file size are almost the same...not much reduce...i heard fr my friend saying tat .wma fiel r smaller...so it enables me to copy my .wma music file to my PDA... |
I think there's no difference between wma and mp3 size.... wma smaller than mp3 is only hype.
It'll be smaller if you're using lower bitrate.
