Very easy one. Get VCDGEAR and convert your dat to mpg. And then use dvdlab to import your mpgs. Then burn into dvd. dvdlabs support vcd or svcd streams to author as dvd files.

Hi, I've scrolled through the thread but couldn't see anything like what I wanted. Here's what I wanna do:

My DVD has 3 chapters (small ones). I want to rip and convert chapters 2 and 3 into VCD. How do I do it?

Many thanks.

PLEASE READ

For the sake of having an organized forum, please post any question regarding audio conversion here only. The reason being is I don't want to have 5485964 topics about video conversion in the software forum.

And before asking, try read the first post or browse around this thread first, your question might be answered without having to ask

For those who are willing to help, please also help in this thread (as I see a lot of un-answered questions in this thread and I'm not good in video conversion tongue.gif) Keep the rest of the forum clean by making this the only discussion about video/audio conversion

Your co-operation is much appreciated smile.gif

Extract the .VOB files with DVDDecrypter(use IFO mode) then choose which chapters you want. Then rip .VOB files with any converter save as avi then convert the avi files to mpg and burn as VCD...
Let me know if you done.

What mpg format exactly you are burning? VCD, SVCD, DVD, KVCD, KDVD etc..?
If your conversion in TMPEG is based on TMPEG standard template then you should have no problems else you need to make sure that the format is supported in your dvd/vcd player. As for burning, in Nero preference, just select option accept non-standard format when burning.

First of all your video got sound but in ac3. Download ac3filter and you should here sound. Gspot shows you have the codec. Try use avicodec instead.
What did you use to convert to vcd? With ac3 you need to have the right tools.
