Ok just made the upgrade from B5 to C5 with topup. Can still do 2+3 Product Care 👍👍👍
*
can share how much is needed to top up?
with this warranty claim HN replace with B5, but you top up $ to get a C5
the C5 is considered a new purchase with fresh warranty?

Sure. I needed to add RM900 (current instant 1k rebate) for the C5 and around RM1.3k for the extended 3 years warranty (2+3)

Warranty allowed for a B5 only based on value or what I purchased the CX in 2021. I asked if I can upgrade and they allowed me to.

The C5 is a new purchase. The warranty is valid until a claim is made. Once a claim has been processed, the warranty agreement is considered void.

My LG 48" C1 bought in 2022 already kaput after almost 3 years. Horizontal white lines coming up permanently. A bit disappointed with the longevity of these panels compared to my 14 y.o. Panasonic plasma.

No doubt the picture quality of OLED is undeniable but maybe not suitable for my use case as my TVs are on practically 20 hours daily.

Now trying TCL mini-LED which you need to sit directly in front to see good picture and colour quality.

Yeah, dont think they can last more than 5 years. My C7 got burn-in after 2 years, and the CX died after 4 years

First two years won't void eh cause that's under LG factory warranty
the +3 onward only activated after factory warranty ended and once claimed under HN then consider void.

I see, that makes sense actually, and now for this promo period there’s an additional one year so up to 3 years.

Oh ... not sure about this. Last year I checked got 5900+ hours. I guess > 12,000 hours since my TV is on consistently on a daily basis (2 years 6 months)

No. I naively thought LG panels would last the same as my Panasonic Plasma. So, just LG original warranty of 2 years.

I asked LG for a quotation and after sending them photos of the screen problem, they said need to replace panel which will cost me RM3,900++. So, I said forget it.

Yeah I can vouch for LG OLED tvs after 3 different models. I think the only thing I don't like about LG is WebOS. Its a bit sluggish. And I thought its because my CX was 4 years old. C5 is also sluggish LOL.

bem69, did u ever press red key at magic remote control , to turn tv to standby mode (to run
compensation cycle) ?
By right run compensation cycle every 2 or 3 days should reduce the chance of burn-in problem...
