QUOTE(lowkl @ Aug 8 2016, 03:49 PM) Is this machine meant to be used by multiple people, or primarily by yourself? just for a small team of 3 Reason being I cannot imagine a manual espresso machine in a regular office environment, with a lot of people most of whom know very little about pulling a shot AND also have no interest whatsoever to learn. I got the go-ahead to look into a superautomatic for my office, but after doing some research, found that most end up in a state of disuse, for one reason or another. They seem to take a disproportionately large amount of maintenance, which for an office is a show-stopper. Unfortunately the only thing that seems to make practical sense are the pod/capsule type. Maybe the only "mod" to improve quality would be to have a grinder and fresh beans & use refillable capsules. actually my plan is i pass them my poemie and i buy new machine for my home .... any recommendation ? budget below 3k |

Maybe the only "mod" to improve quality would be to have a grinder and fresh beans & use refillable capsules. manual or automatic they both need some kind of maintenance. even for capsule type they need simple cleaning, if 90% of your ppl at work do not care about good coffee. capsule will do. capsule costly but machine cheap and maintenance easy, replacement also cheap. if U just want coffee not espresso, these coffee machine also needs to be maintain. my office has one that can choose between 3-4 beans type and makes coffee. it grinds and brew coffee. maybe solution is train a maid to be a barista and do all the work |

QUOTE(kuluuluk @ Aug 9 2016, 04:33 PM) i didn't time the last round when brew but to me it look normal on the brewing duration.yesterday machine pump sound weird and it is quiet loud like it is try to pump for water when the tank is empty (Last check the tank was full)...try to brew the coffee and check water brew from the brew head ... everything seem fine, so i try to measure the pressure fearing could cause by it. When i switch off the brew button after checking the pressure, there is a high release of pressure, when with a loud "pop". It even lifted up and push my dip tray out abit.... then when i tested again.... it when back to normal sound.... Weird.... |

What exactly is Ipoh White Coffee?
Is it the way it is prepared, or is it that the bean is white in color, or what? Went to a kopitiam, and in the list, there's this option of ordering Ipoh White Coffee O (without milk). So ordered, and I got black coffee. |

QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Aug 15 2016, 08:09 AM) By remove my parts and reassemble them again.... haha...that really scares me to take off the machine apart again....maybe next round....but for now i try to start a website about the mod.... Dude really a website? why not start it in a forum instead? like Home barista or coffee forums where you have inputs? but I'm impressed with what you did!! Welldone!! yes 'Airlock' can be the cause of stressed water pump, and sometime it can cause a pinch on silicon tubings too. thats why never run the machine without water. maybe next is to mod a water level device. without using any electronics. Coffee time!! |

Website like blogspot would be nice for a starter, i had been thinking of forum too but just the committee that really want to go through all the hassle is just too small later become cold forum ahaha (I had already got my review on blogspot). What i can see most ppl would prefer just buy a coffee machine, and make coffee and never having thought of going through all those tear down and mod and later regret why they tear down the machine and broke thing inside. hahahaCoffee time!! Speaking of water level devices mod.... hmm...don't we already have on in the machine ? i think it is quite redundant to have another. I planing to add pressure gauge on the groupe head but im out of budget so i had to wait till when i had to budget before i can add in another mod. For now, i just drink coffee only. First try was the India monsooned melabar, the taste and technique is so much different from my silvia. In silvia, i had to go very fine grind (Often i step my grinder all the way down to the end) to get my taste (sometimes inconsistent taste) but oscar with mod, i don have to step all the way down, just going up half of grind it taste much better (First tried was so much crazy bitter due to old silvia setting). |

Dang.... The sound of the infamous pump came back again last night when i run the pump. Again, i tried the same method, attach my pressure gauge and let it run through but this time there is no loud 'pop' and causing my dip tray to move. Just simple back flushing couple of times and it is back to normal again.
I wonder could it be something had to do with my solenoid getting stuck or something. |

QUOTE(Dan430 @ Aug 17 2016, 08:26 AM) It will be great if you have a price range and type of machine u preferred. with grinder or without? what type of coffee drinker you are? prices range below 2.5k just normal cappuccino or latter drinker. (one day 2-4 cup) don't need grinder, as i already have but some how prefer simple and easy type, me not those ppl willing to spend a lot of time here (or not this moment). Reason no more poemie, already have one at home, another one at kl office, now plan to move my home poemie to pg office, so i can upgrade home unit. thanks This post has been edited by SonnyCooL: Aug 17 2016, 12:33 PM |

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Aug 17 2016, 11:27 AM) prices range below 2.5k I'm a Breville user myself, around the 2.5K range, perhaps can try the Breville Due Temp Pro (~RM 2.3k). Some specs taken from seattle coffee gear:just normal cappuccino or latter drinker. (one day 2-4 cup) don't need grinder, as i already have but some how prefer simple and easy type, me not those ppl willing to spend a lot of time here (or not this moment). Reason no more poemie, already have one at home, another one at kl office, now plan to move my home poemie to pg office, so i can upgrade home unit. thanks Integrated PID: Breville’s integrated electronic assistances ensures temperature stability. Auto Purge: After steaming, the auto purge automatically adjust the temperature back to brewing. Extra Touches: Breville excels in providing convenient features for home brewers, such as the safe-guard finger-grab on the steam wand, the magnetic tamper and razor to trim off extra grounds. Made For Any Level: The Duo-Temp comes equipped with non-pressurized baskets for coffee lovers looking to hone their craft and pressurized baskets for beginners looking to perfect their espresso skills. Thermocoil Heating: The stainless steel coil provides accurate control over heating water. Traditional Style Steam Wand: The commercial-grade stainless steel wand swivels 360° to get at those hard-to-reach angles. Pre-Infusion: Low water pressure gently infusions all the grounds to extract the most flavor from the coffee. Spacious Water Tank: More water means less time spent on running to the faucet to replenish. Built-In Water Filter: The water filter keeps the water soft and impurities out. I've not used this model before, but my Breville Double Boiler has been working well |
