It can definitely handle streaming 1080p mkv on samba nicely with kodi on wireless connection.
I've only tested mkv files around 8gb - 18gb and they play smoothly.
Just be sure to have the router nearby or repeater

Set up my Shield TV with Netflix flawlessly......maybe need some network tweaking again as Netflix viewing experience is still rather blurry "SD" type of resolution. or i just me as myself being spoiled with HyppTV 1080p resolution viewing.

Any workaround to force HD streaming fro Shield TV? i subscribed to Netflix HD plan with 30Mbps Unifi Advance.

do you see the videos labeled as hd 5.1?

if there are, then all is good.

unifi is having intermittent speed drops.

it is possible hd becomes sd sometimes for a few seconds, maybe half a minute.

Router QOS? As usual, Ethernet connection preferred over wireless.. The Nvidia Shield TV is undoubtedly capable of delivering Netflix 4K content without breaking a sweat.. Pushing 1080p would be a piece of cake...

Usiing ethernet connection.....yup, QOS also done....now it works immaculately after my account setting>playbank to max@high..


Was searching this setting dropbox within shield tv UI....but no available. Instead, i only manage to change the netflix setting via Android phone(Note 4). Yup....it works now without a sweat!

Yeah... I prefer watching a movie in its original audio with English subtitles (preferably HI subs).. It just seems weird..?.. that such a movie was made with English audio as its original, especially since it's a sequel. Guess they had their reasons. It's all good..
