I did tried on both cable & 5Ghz WiFi while disconnect other devices, but sadly the result is identical.
I see, Im thinking to invest into Apple TV4k, but wonder would IT make any differences compared to TV native apps?
Btw my TV is Sony x900h.

I did restart my tv and modem, but the result is still the same.
Probably gonna try your method 1&2 before i spent further on external devices.

I cannot tell Apple TV 4K help you or not but I can guarantee is Apple device always had better pulling the internet strenght.
What resolution in Apple TV 4K cannot tell as it is not show, but it always look very clear to me.

My LG C9 also playback perfectly in Netflix and check status it is always in 2160p but my previous Panasonic EX600 will up and down within 1080p to 2160p.

I am using DiGi Infinite, thus no idea on how Unifi perform.

I also had Maxis in my phone and the speed test always better than DiGi but not means Maxis handling streaming better.
When using Maxis, sometimes they will drop to very bad 480p or lower quality. I think Maxis throttle it.

But this is not the case for DiGi.

Ethernet cable... Cable all the way for such matters.. Although, I also noticed you mentioned it’s the Sony x900h (Android TV OS). Personally and while I get the appeal, I’ve always shied away from TVs running some form of Android TV OS. This is because I keep reading about this issue la, that issue la.. Issues that stem from the fact that it is hard to “bend” the Android TV OS to perform as an all-rounder TV. Most of which you won’t find and or experience with similarly priced and feature equipped TVs BUT running proprietary OSes. TV brands like Samsung and LG. I’ve been using a 2014 Samsung TV and it still gets Netflix and YouTube app updates. Of course, no more actual firmware updates. Nevertheless, it’s always been smooth and stable max resolution playback. The initial/cold boot playback might take a few seconds to ramp up. But after that, FF, RW, or auto-loading the next episode or movie always starts at max resolution. My guess is that the app while playing end credits, is/has already smartly buffered the first few minutes of the next episode.

So I would recommend trying wired first. Most streaming or gaming connectivity issues are often resolved with a wired connection.

This year i decided 2 up from basic 2 premium after buying new 4k TV.

Is there more netflix 4k contents in 2021?

This is my experience. I have used 2 different VPN and same issues. I am on Surfshark at the moment. Sometimes it will connect USA Netflix and sometimes not.

With vpn on router. The router need to encrypt and decrypt so things will slow down. Which means the entire house's wifi will slow down. So I never like the option of vpn on router. I have the AC68U and sometimes speed will slow down by 10x on home unifi. But strangely for Business unifi, even with the free TM router, hardly any impact.

As for Ping. The further you are from the server, the longer the ping, naturally. So linking to a server in neighboring country has lower ping than a server half way around the world.

I have also tried Smart DNS on the LG. Could never work for me. So my solution is use an external device that can install VPN apps.

I may be wrong but I think Ping is merely saying your device has successfully got a reply or successfully connected to the server or something. Once connected, download speed not really affected by ping any more.

I have my TV connected using wire and mostly watch local Netflix. And the response speed at least 5 times faster compared to the speed on a device on Wifi with VPN. So switching programs is a breeze.

Apple TV cost too much. For my use, Fire Stick 4K is good enough but with 1 problem. TV's auto screensaver will not kick in with the Fire Stick. Fire Stick's screensaver will only kick in at 5 minutes, too long for my liking.

Yeah...Local Netflix with the TV app (wired always) .. Android box for anything else.. However, ExpressVPN is now the better option IMO..
