I am using Android box Himedia Q5 quad core. Installed Netflix via Google Playstore and subscribe to HD account.

I cannot find Dolby Digital cotent. Been watching Jessica Jones and Man of Steel. No surround sound. When click the speaker icon on the screen it only adjust the volume.

Secondary : 0.0.0.0

If so I'll subscribe back. Will test it out tonight.

Now it is my Wifi AP's permanent DNS address.

It's unwise to use "special" DNS servers as a permanent configuration directly on your main router.. Primarily cuz, it's a security risk (url hijacks & redirection) and the server could end up being overloaded by unnecessary requests, while its being used for normal browsing..

Noted. Will have to use static IP for my tablet then..

Yup, Netflix works best in fibre connection. Especially if you expect Full HD or UHD quality.

A bit trick about UHD though, I find if I use my android box (UHD capable), the Netflix apps seems to skip the UHD contents. But if I play diretcly from the tv apps, the UHD contents will be there.

I'm not sure is it because of the android apps or the fact that I use AV receiver for my android box.

For this, I play Netflix directly from my tv.

Anyone have similar issues?

Netflix HD/UHD on Android devices only available on Netflix certified android box. That include all your Smart TV there.

So if you get a Xiaomi TV it won't play HD Netflix too.

I didn't check Lelong. My bad. I only check Lowyat forum.

Should have buy from Lelong, cheaper.

Netflix on Firetv stick only support resolution up to 1080p, and make sure your local wifi connection in good performance or u'lk regret later.. while for 4k content, only the new generation FireTV box support it.

Full HD good enough for me as I only subscribe to 30Mbps package and don't have a 4K TV.

My main goal is to get the surround sound.

If it can play back Samba share I might also retire my HiMedia Q5 Quadcore.

Pretty straightforward.. Nothing that has not already been mentioned in this thread.. Bottom line is, premium DNS + a decent Samsung smart TV. Unsure if this matters, but it's running the older smart TV OS & not the newer Tizen OS. The TV from first boot up has always been pointed to USA servers.

Which premium DNS?

Receive the Fire TV Stick after two week from ordering from US. Should have order from Lelong and get it from Klang immediately instead.

Caveat: Don't buy this unless you know how to use Smart DNS. I use 7 days Unlocator trial.

Unpacked this little box and plug it in my TV and power it up. Set up my Amazon account and connect my router to Unlocator DNS. Try to install Netflix. "Not available". Shit..

So found out that my Amazon account has already had Malaysia address. Have to create a dummy account to use US address. So use a fake US address (while on Unlocator) and key in my credit card number (Malaysia one). Google some zipcode, key in some dummy US phone number and viola, now can install Netflix.

If you sideload any APK, it won't show up in the home screen. You can only run it via App Setup page.

Netflix HD with 5.1 was smooth. Much better than plain Android version as the seek function will jump to HD screen fairly quickly. Too mad my Unlocator trial expired so I don't have a chance to test out US content.

Will definitely keep my Netflix account until I finished Daredevil. Epic to watch Daredevil vs Punisher vs Elektra. Who's next?

That's just Amazon not playing nice with Netflix.. Amazon has their own video streaming service and would obviously prefer all users of the Fire TV to only stick with that. They made it difficult.. Since Netflix expanded into Malaysia, etc, they allowed the countries access to their app download using one's normal IP & DNS address. So DNS services are not required except for known reasons.

The Netflix on Fire TV is not from Google Play. It is Amazon's native version which is certified for HD and 5.1 contents. Amazon is just not selling the Fire TV outside US so you don't get to access any content restricted items. Even apps.

Have been using Getflix for Netflix/Hulu/NBC Sports with no problems since the "crackdown" on VPN/DNS by Netflix. There's a free 14 day trial so u can check it out first https://www.getflix.com.au/ to make sure it works for you.

There's also a great deal on lifetime subscription (30) years. If you sign up for their newletter here, you can also get a 10% discount for the first purchase. Enjoy!!

Drip some water to into the TV to short out some circuit board.

Then can justify to replace.
