I got to say, on my PC using my LED/LCD TV as monitor, comparing Iflix in SD and Netflix in SD , I actually prefer Iflix quality.

It looks closer to 720P although it's supposed to be SD, compared to Netflix SD which look inferior on my 3Mbps wireless connection.

I guess Netflix compromises the Video quality in a more prudent manner on slower connection compared to Iflix. Both are of the same smoothness though.

Yup.. Keyword.... Also, are you on Netflix's HD plan? Cuz there is an SD plan... Netflix recommended speeds. Netflix prides itself on best results, hence higher minimum requirements. However, if you are able to optimize your network better.. There have been reports of better netflix performance..

With my slow connection, of course I chose the SD plan. I was comparing SD for both Netflix and Iflix, and I prefer Iflix anytime.

To my eyes, both Iflix sd and netflix sd on PC come out about the same.

I have also tried both in sd on my 4K tv. Netflix comes out better.

Of course, in HD or uhd, Netflix is excellent, as good as any full 1080p video with dd5.1, better than the 1080i of hypptv.

No HD for iflix for now... maybe it will come after a year, when all free trials are over!

If you have to watch only one Korean action movie, I recommend "The Man from Nowhere". Available on US version. Very good! It is like TAKEN on steroids.

watched this one. not bad.

i browsed thru the list... noticed 2 korean movies that i watched before, quite good - war of the arrows, old boy.

will also recommend you if u have not watched - zaitoichi (japanese) and warrior (indonesian).

now watching sword of the assassin (vietnamese), which looks ok but comes across as another typical chinese wuxia film! biggrin.gif the hd video quality is superb.

Yours is 30 mbps line, both will likely look the same when testing in SD. Mine however is 3mbps (10 x slower) blush.gif

The point I was making was on slow connections, I feel Netflix decreases the quality more than Iflix.

Understood.. While that sucks, I see why it would appear that way. Netflix and rightly so, believes that SD streaming are for mobile devices only and by that, probably 4" - 7" screens max. Even those have to be like 720p screens.. Retina ipads or 2k screens... Nah. So they don't expect subscribers to blow it up on a bigger screen like laptops, monitors or TVs. So when subscribers eventually do such, they raise their arms in helplessness & hide behind their streaming speed requirements.. After all, T & C applies. As for iflix, they best get their house in order, which is even more crucial, now that the bigger fish has swum into their waters.

Yeah, popped up as a recommendation.. Usually, Netflix provides multiple audio & subtitle languages. I do prefer native audio with accurate English subs. Looking forward to the movie & hope it doesn't flop.

Yup, Netflix works best in fibre connection. Especially if you expect Full HD or UHD quality.

A bit trick about UHD though, I find if I use my android box (UHD capable), the Netflix apps seems to skip the UHD contents. But if I play diretcly from the tv apps, the UHD contents will be there.

I'm not sure is it because of the android apps or the fact that I use AV receiver for my android box.

For this, I play Netflix directly from my tv.

Anyone have similar issues?

Is your Android box a certified Netflix device? Also, what do you mean by UHD contents are skipped? Is it that 4K flicks like Daredevil, etc don't show up when searched on your Android box but show up on the Smart TV app? Contents are available or missing depending on regions.. Not due to resolution, and so, non-4K devices have access to the exact same library as a 4K device, provided both are running from the same region.. Example, Malaysia.

Since Netflix is already available locally in Malaysia of course you don't need VPN to watch the local version of Netflix.

However the local version has much less content compared to U.S version, that's where using VPN for U.S comes in.

Currently Netflix is good in Malaysia with alot of content but its unfair to pay the same rate as the US which is getting 100x more content.

Hope they increase the content or reduce the rates.

Netflix HD/UHD on Android devices only available on Netflix certified android box. That include all your Smart TV there.

So if you get a Xiaomi TV it won't play HD Netflix too.
