yes,2 screens with HD,and yes you can access malaysia netflix with canadian account.

1.first you need VPN(for example tunnelbear)to switch your region from MY to CA.

2.then signup your netflix account by accessing to netflix canada website.

3.their standard package is CAD9.99 which around MYR31+

4.then your netflix account will be under canada region.

5.if you want to watch other region netflix, you'll need smart DNS or VPN.

6.if you want to watch malaysia netflix only, then you don't need any smart DNS or VPN,and you still pay under CAD .which cheaper than paying RM42.

So guys, with Netflix now in Msia, im thinking of getting a sub for my parents so they can watch it.

But our tv is a normal HDTV, not smart TV. Whats the best/cheapest way to be able to get Netflix/Iflix on this tv?

Chromecast? Means using phone as a remote, right? Will it drain Phone Battery? Sorry new tech for me. Any input or links go read up more is appreciated.

What if use laptop? Will it cast in 1080p then? with Chromecast?

*Using a pc.. Download the native Netflix app for Windows, send media to Chromecast. Use IE/Edge browser, select title to play, send to Chromecast..
*Using a phone or tablet.. Open Netflix app on phone scroll or search for title to play.. Send to Chromecast. You'll get full HD as Google's Chromecast is Netflix certified.

Do not simply buy any android box & expect full 1080p with surround sound. You'll not get it unless the box is CERTIFIED by Netflix. Read around here, it's been mentioned several times.. If you don't want to use phones or pc to cast etc, get a Roku or Nvidia Shield TV or Amazon fire TV box or Fire stick. These 3 are fully supported & have their own clean UI.. Check YouTube for videos.. There are tons there.. Don't waste your money.

well i use both ps4 and android phone to test it out, yesterday was pretty pixelated, ps4 showing the quality as 288p, occasionally will up to 388p

before that both can achieve 720p on a 4mbps streamyx line

it's about netflix's 4k uhd certification:

yep, from what i understand, only certain smart tv's (1080p, not 4k) direct netflix app get hd (not ultra hd).

that's why i will not continue. just cancelled, free trial still allowed until expiry.

I was using the trial ' unblock-us' before, but it expired a week ago. I then switched to a free VPN , and so far I can still watch U.S shows till now.

Yeah, sticking to the current plan.. I've actually not really taken advantage of iflix, especially since they offered Unifi subscribers free access for a year. It's been awhile and I've still not had enough free time to watch "Black Sails" on iflix. As per the rest... No comment.. 

I will say, I developed a new found liking for Korean action movies on Netflix.. Also, Kublai Khan & Hundred Eyes... 

Ordered the Amazon Fre TV Stick from eBay. Will report once I received it.

Full HD good enough for me as I only subscribe to 30Mbps package and don't have a 4K TV.

My main goal is to get the surround sound.

If it can play back Samba share I might also retire my HiMedia Q5 Quadcore.
