Wah! Betamax! I never seen before in my life!

VCD - the most failure format, it actually is a format that get throw.
LD - very short life time, I still remember that time in my home town happen a lot of LD home entertainment shop for you to watch movie inside.

8K possible happen but not so soon I believe, also old film in analog format seems scan size limited to 8K already, any above it wonder how will it looks like, 12bit possible happen 1st, maybe will start with new format of 4K media since they is already start in this project.

VCD not most failed lah. Most failed is LD. VCD was very popular here and in some Asian countries.

Last time Pasar Malam openly sell porn VCDs like sell vege...lol...right in front of police station somemore.

Try switch off main power for a while, then power on again. To clear memory and cache.

Try to "restart" your smart TV

*Unplug your TV from power for at least 1 minute.
*While your TV is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the TV for 5 seconds to discharge it.
*If you cannot access the power button or your TV does not have one, leave your TV unplugged for at least 3 minutes.
*Plug your TV back in.
*Turn your TV on.
*Try Netflix again.

If the above still doesn't work? You might have to reset the Smart Hub.. This will definitely clear out any buggy remnants.

Some interesting experiments by Netflix. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 seems to be in Atmos. Also newer Sony Pictures studio releases in Netflix seem to be in Ultra HD 4k. Hopefully, they combine both soon.

VCD didn't really fail in terms of popularity at that time. It was very popular for pasar malam movies 😁. When it was out the only available practical storage medium was CD. Quality of course wasn't good due to the low capacity of CD (650mb) . Must use 2 disc for one low quality movie.

However it did help pave the way for DVD which appeared later which was a big improvement because of the capacity 4.7gb single layer/ 8.5 gb double layer.

Then came Blu-ray of course 25gb single/50 gb double layer.

Yup...

DVD hit the sweetspot.

VCD quality too low
LD too inconvenient. It's super big, the player's super expensive.
BR didn't really fly due to higher internet speeds...

I'm new to betflix. Why movies like lord of the rings, hobbiton are not available? Most of my latest favourite movies are not available eventhough they're already available in dvd/bluray.... kinda sad ..

Becos those are not produced by them and they did not buy the rights.

Besides Netflix, there are others like HBO, Amazon, Hulu who may have bought the rights.

Hey all. I'm having problem casting Netflix from my iPad to my Smart TV (using Sony Bravia). It just opens up the default Netflix app on TV and stop at the profile selection screen. The thing is I don't wanna use the native TV app cause the wifi on TV is slow, I just wanna cast it from my iPad, and also it's easier to just browse movie from there. Is this affecting only Bravia TVs?

bolded... is very disappointing and strange.

sony's ATV cannot be that bad... if true... i m speechless... when sharp's ATV is working very well.

if u really can't use netflix 4k/hdr with yr TV app, u have 3 options:

1. get chromecast dongle (which is a shame since yr ATV should have built in chromecast already.

2. get an android box that can do netflix 4k HDR - this, be careful... some are "fake", may not last for long.

3. get new TV.

I googled more about it. Apparently it's all Bravia TV that's affected. Oh well, not getting a new TV because this one is already good enough. Will just connect with HDMI. haha.
