Just watched Sony CES, there was nothing new about Xperia (rarely mentioned). We shall see what will be announced during MWC. brows.gif

Bought normal phone shop in KB Mall, but all shops get the stock from the same Sony supplier. Shops only reduce the commission to attrack customers

I recently bought a brand new Xperia Z5. Been using it for a week now.

Upgraded from my old Samsung S3, so the performance is sooo much better.

However, there is one problem. It will sometimes auto reboot for no apparent reason.

Happens 2 - 3 times a day. it happens usually whenever I open or exit an app.

I am aware that the Z5 will either reboot or force close apps if it gets too hot, but I am barely multitasking and my phone isn't hot when it reboots.

I heard that it might be a problem with the SIM card. I cut it from Nano to Micro.

Can somebody recommend a solution?

Thanks!

Back from your thread. That's reset if your phone crashed or system unable to respond.
Soft reset must go to settings > back up and reset > reset > untick erase internal storage. Will take few minutes.

This is why I always try to get the phone itself at the lowest price 1st, without any free gifts. The price for free gift always quoted overpriced. That microsd card so expensive, I bought mine only RM93 for Sandisk Ultra 64Gb 48MB/s.

too many write operations?
I probably save up a bit to get a good 128GB lar (phone can swallow 200GB iirc), since I don't think i am pulling it out often, plus marshmallow can use the card to expand internal storage mar~ lol

Not much write operation because I use the Kingston microsd for backup purpose only in phone. My 16Gb Sandisk still OK until now, I use in dashcam for 3 years already, most of the time is writing only.

Sandisk 200Gb on sale last month at amazon, USD99 only, that time I didn't plan to buy Z5P yet. I check last night USD239 already. doh.gif

just for my experience my own and ppl i knew, kingstone products are not reliable.
Sandisk is still the best performance and reliable.

Maybe you're just one in a million that is unlucky? I use Kingston SD card since my first smartphone, just the normal class 4 one, all family also use. Plus I use Kingston SSD and the FuryX RAM too. Not a single problem smile.gif))

Sony Xperia Z5P is good as a camera video recorder.. Especially in 1080p with Steadyshot intelligent active mode.. everything looks stable and smooth.. Attached link is a short video preview uploaded directly from my Z5P.. many videos clip with different situation, daylight, night, low light, moving on car, all video output im very satisfy.. Except slow motion quality might not on par with my expectation but still not bad..

Indoor video test - http://youtu.be/hyygzQKbsD0

Slow motion - http://youtu.be/OIct6PVLFz4

In moving car - http://youtu.be/32I_ANZ6i64

Hmm.. If phone or finger in wet then always failed to unlock. But if you use and failed all the time then should be something there.. Try to wipe your finger and the scanner. Sometimes I failed, then wipe scanner or finger. Mostly worked.

Hi. brows.gif
Pros :
- Small
- Camera autofocus is speedy
- Video stabilization is the best at the moment
- White balance is extremely accurate
- 2 front facing speaker (nice surround)
- Enhancement from DSEE HX is noticeable
- Can be washed every now and then laugh.gif
- Screen is usable with some water on it
- Tamed the Snapdragon 810 well. The body is just warm.
- Camera doesn't overheat like older generations
- Extremely wide lens
- The frosted glass has baby skin feeling

Cons :
- Screen pixel is noticeable sometimes
- Screen has a reddish cast on stock setting, can be solved by adjusting the white balance
- Takes time to get used to the fingerprint sensor
- Camera doesn't have manual mode
- Tends to exposure on bright side (Highlight blows out sometimes)
- Weird camera logic that shouldn't exist :
---- Full Auto mode tends to choose high ISO, opening the brightness & colour menu will reduce the ISO by half mad.gif
---- Full Auto mode doesn't trigger Low Light mode (ISO3200 above) when 23/20MP is chosen mad.gif
---- Full Auto mode identifies the scene surprising accurate mad.gif
---- Manual Mode + 23/20MP mode has no access to ISO control mad.gif
---- Manual Mode + HDR has no access to ISO control mad.gif
---- Manual Mode + Scenes has no access to 23/20MP (stuck at 8MP) mad.gif
- Luckily the 8MP is decent enough. I'm using 20MP for Full Auto mode and 8MP (Handheld Twilight) in manual mode for low light shots

In my case, it is not because of dirt, the scanner surface is clean, when i hit 1 time to the scanner it vibrate several times(without my finger touch) and it shows error then i have to unlock with other method.
I've tried full reset and seems like not the software problem sad.gif
Looks like i send into service. cry.gif

try other fingers first. the problem with biometric scanners is, a simple cut on your finger can result in scanning failure after the skin regenerates.

Not. Night shot is okay. Attached is the sample of recent random shot.

Maybe your focus distance too close?

For 23MP/20MP, it would be helpful to have a fast memory card like Sandisk Extreme. Class 10 is insufficient to get instant saving. brows.gif

guy, im a xperia Z first gen user, since then how many Z series already came out, im thinking of upgrading to Z5, my issue with sony phone are camera and the sound quality, so how does this phone perform? how is the speaker and when using earphone? and most importantly, regarding the sd810 chip, does it really become very hot?

1) Camera is nice, but need to get used to it. Some tweaks here and there, not as simple as point and shoot.
2) Speaker quality... dual front facing speaker. The volume is low, but sufficient. The surround sound is good.
3) The DSEE HX does a very good job in earphone. brows.gif
4) Warm, not hot. Running antutu is just ~60C. Usual usage is around 43C only. smile.gif

Sony treated the processor like SD 808. The maximum simultaneous is just 4xA53 and 2xA57, but the one of the A57 will go offline very quickly, maybe active for 1 or 2 seconds only. wink.gif

So far never getting hot yet on my Z5P. My Z1 can become hot even just after taking a few snap.

1xA57 at 99% of time. You can download PerfMon from XDA. It has floating window stay on top on your application to show the real time status. brows.gif

downloaded CPU-z, yes indeed only one A57 is on at all times

to my surprise, in a separate tab in CPU-z, the screen resolution shows 1920*1080 on Z5P, the trick is to upscale from full HD to UHD, not even 2K experience .. no wonder i never feel the fonts is as sharp as a Note 4

GTA SA is vast man. But yeah, RM0.32 is a good buy.
I don't game on my phones anymore. Mobile gaming, normally I'd let my Vita to do the job.

my methodology is very simple.

Open camera, menu setting, enable Grid Line (you will see 9 blocks in preview).

I like to use 8MP or 20MP (16:9 ratio). lowlight/night/indoor scenario, i will use 8MP. Most of the time use Superior Auto. Objects must in center of Grid Line. focus point will be there.. Now superior auto can done most of the photos.. sometime you may adjust brightness or tone based on your preference.. Auto mode always will face white balance incorrect issue.

So in summary,
1. Use superior auto, Enable grid line, object must be in center. 20MP for easier cropping.. i got many and many photo samples.. see what kind of photos you like to see.. night scene, night portrait, food, macro, indoor, outdoor..

Testing zooming features of Xperia Z5 Premium.

In 20mp only can get 3.0x zoom for lossless quality. But also not that great. But output quite okay. 5x lossless only available in 8mp

Skin got from dbrand.com, costs 10$+3$ shipping. Case got from twdevilcase.com, costs 33$+13$ shipping. Quite expensive for this combo though...
I recommend just getting a nillkin frosted shield case. It's cheaper, faster and still slick!
SP i recommend getting the RM10 one on lelong. It's quite good actually. Don't get the nillkin one, the cutouts are slightly off centered.

Colour aspect you're right already. Z5 do have frosted back, which fingerprint wont notice significantly.

To complement Sony A7.. waa.. still is normal point and shoot digital camera.. but it might not the best smartphone camera out there.. but if you do use Sony smartphone before, then you should know it.. u need some manual tweak to get real good output.

Oh yeah, saw the website too. Kinda expensive since have to include shipping cost and lurking in the forum finding no seller selling the devilcase. Maybe will just order the normal one locally. Sobs

Btw. Any user here using ringke and orzly case?

Ive used a orzly flexislim. And its not great.
Pros: thin, spot on cutouts.
Cons: grey colour not black, accumulates dust like f****, no drop protection.

I using Orzly® Series Fusion Bumper Case for Xperia Z5 Premium. Love it. hard case at the back, not so soft but flexible on the side. Still fit nicely even use glass for front and back.

Features :-
- Polycarbonate and Toughened Polyurethane Hybrid Material
- Shockproof Absorption Air Cushion Design
- Quintessential Lift design of 1.0mm from Surface
- Lay On Table Lip Design
- 4 Points Ridged Rear Defenders

So far survive after a few times knock on the table.

Cons, only 1.. back easily get scratched.

Hi guys, how's the speaker volume for the z5 compact ? My z1 compact has a very very low volume compared to those phones that are not waterproof. Sometimes can't even hear the ringtone on busy streets. My old HTC has louder volume.

but the problem is that, it is very inconsistent. You wouldn't know whether the subject is well-lit enough to not return a grainy output (i have one but i can't post it cos it is my work notes on a whiteboard). I probably also suffer the left hand edge blur but it is not bad enough for me to go ask for an exchange (read this: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5...043401#U1043401 ). Yes, I knew about the problem before my purchase.

if you like photos captured by sony's sensor, you have a lot of choices these days, some mid-rangers are quite well-built and they come with sony's sensor

yeah, your photo a bit blur i guess due to shaky hand.. try to use Manual mode and choose scene Hand-Held Twilight.. it will try to keep ISO low, and combine few photos into 1. 1 of my previous example.. from my photo, you can see the car plate clearly.. One of the key thing you may apply in future shot, try use soft key in camera interface instead of camera shutter button. or else u set timer 0.5sec..

one thing that i like the Sony camera in Xperia is deliver the natural colour instead of boost saturation.. only Landscape do boost the saturation on RGB colour.. one things that Xperia Camera auto mode cant do well is white balance. in complicated light situation, white balance most is wrong.. but luckily right now got brightness and tone adjustments.. so it compensate the white balance thing.. once you get the good output, you may perform some editing for some photo sharing purpose or make photo looks more attractive in term of colour.. depend on personal preference..

other than the 4K screen and mirror back finish (for Chrome colour), only that part is much more superior than Z5.
not to point out, the fingerprint reader/power button on Z5P is much more tactile than Z5.

For most of the tempered glasses out there I saw, there's cut out for the flashlight. Even imos, one of the best glass protector out there has a flashlight cut out but very thin.

Nilkin have some local resellers on lelong if I remembered correctly.

Try pressing the icon at the right side of the volume bar. Where u will see the separate bar for ring volume, alarm volume and media volume. See whether there are separate bar for bluetooth volume or just adjust the media volume

It could be due to the game not optimized enough for Snapdragon 810. Download PerfMon app from XDA and monitor the CPU usage when you are playing the game. The A53 (cores 0-3) should spike up to high usage and 1 A57 core is on.

Finally after much consideration i bought Z5C yellow color, just because black no stock & white looks like a bar of chocolate. After close inspection kinda like the yellow, it's quite unique, like yellow-green in person, not so obvious Sony mark & looks like Lumia from afar tongue.gif

Paid 2199, it comes with 2 year warranty, tampered glass & nilkin back cover.
Bouht at Bintang Megamall Miri, still plenty of last season phones inch Z1C and Tablet Z3C for those looking to buy a new one.

Looks good. Yeah. One thing that I noticed, if u feel iso is high, you may adjust the brightness in SA mode, it will keep iso lower and longer the shutter speed a bit.

in your opinion, how high the ISO can be achived with Z5 while retaining acceptable quality?

when i was using RX100, I tend to use ISO 800 / 1600 when in indoor / night outdoor scene, the pic quality still very decent, of course it is a camera with 1" sensor, can't compare with phone

depend on situation.. in SA mode, software tend to pull ISO higher to get faster shutter speed, so in result u will feel picture looks grainy.. smartphone camera sensor was 1/2.3 inch, compare with 1" sensor in DSLR/camera, totally different case.. the light absorb in sensor was more than half difference.

so if smartphone can adjust shutter speed is the best.. but in our Sony software, try to use manual mode to get lower ISO and good shutter speed or there are 1 mode called ISO sensitivity, high ISO, but also can make shutter speed longer a bit.

I attached 1 photo sample with ISO sensitivity, ISO 3200, 1/8s, hold by my hand only, flash off. this photo is captured in night situation, but i want to test the camera of Z5p, so try to capture the things inside my bag with other phone like Note 4, Iphone 6.. only Sony able to capture the things inside clearly..

although Sony said our camera sensor can go up to 12800 ISO, only limited in Superior Auto, but im not sure when will trigger ISO 12800 photos, never get this before.. I do try got once ISO 6400 photo.. and quality is almost like attached.. we can see what we want to see, better than our eyes..

Had never flash anything before, could you give me the link to get the FTF and steps to do it?

Would have to do it now, as everything in the camera will not gyro when I rotate....so picture is upside down @.@

depend on situation.. in SA mode, software tend to pull ISO higher to get faster shutter speed, so in result u will feel picture looks grainy.. smartphone camera sensor was 1/2.3 inch, compare with 1" sensor in DSLR/camera, totally different case.. the light absorb in sensor was more than half difference.

so if smartphone can adjust shutter speed is the best.. but in our Sony software, try to use manual mode to get lower ISO and good shutter speed or there are 1 mode called ISO sensitivity, high ISO, but also can make shutter speed longer a bit.

I do try got once ISO 6400 photo.. and quality is almost like attached.. we can see what we want to see, better than our eyes..

first, download flashtool from flashtool.net and install it.
after done installing, open up xperiafirm and download the firmware files and bundle it to become a FTF file.
once the bundling process is done, click flash > flash via flash mode. you will prompted to select the files required for flashing. promptly select the one that matches your model number.
later on, you will be prompted a screen to turn off your phone and press and hold a button. in this case, after you turned off your phone, press and hold Vol down and plug in the USB cable.
wait for the process to done.

Thanks Raymond for the explanation, will have to start doing this in a short while as entering the codes provided by Sony Support to run the service test on the gyroscope works. So it definitely has something to do with the software part.

Does this process will void my existing warranty?

No worries on warranty part. It won't void unless you unlock the bootloader, which is not a necessary part of the process.

I'm still need to explore more on the camera.
I'm A6000 user, prefer to have real M mode to control directly on the S,A,ISO.
Now mostly on SA mode.

For most smartphone flagship are able to get excellent results in daylight. Lowlight and night is depend on skills and knowledge already. Too bad, manual scene mode only support 8mp. Daytime I will suggest use higher mp for future cropping purposes. Night time, 8mp will do and able to produce good outputs.

Looks a bit grainy.. But seem manual mode better than sa mode. Try further and try hold your breathe and use scene mode. Try use handheld twilight u will found some good photos in night time.

If z5 series do have professional mode or full manual control like iso, shutter speed, i believe it can KO most of the smartphone already.

Nope, you actually can't play PS4 games on phone. In other way round, Sony released an app called PS4 remote play, which streams your PS4 games to the phone. That of course, you must be within the range of the PS4.

Hello all xperia z5 user..

Thinking of getting a new z5 premium,

Because the pricing is significantly lower in the garage sales section rather than buying with sony centre. I am considering of buying one from our fellow forumers. Due to this, i would like to ask a few question.

1. How does sony warranty works? Is there any malaysia sony warranty ?

2. How to know wether a unit is a AP set or ORI set?

3. Other than screen size and 4k screen, is there any other diffent between z5 and z5 premium.

Thank you for your help in advance..

i do try with PS Dualshock 3. DS4 should be the same.. i also got 1 iPega controller.. all are serve the same functions.. but DS3 and DS4 supported more games.. while iPega is supported most famous games only.. no delay from my end.. i always playing GTA San Andreas or dead trigger.. but recently i like iPega cause it got phone holder.. but if u like to play KOF, SEGA transformers, use DS3 or DS4..

i would say depend on what kind of games u want to play then only choose which controller.. but if you do have PS3 or PS4 in previous, can direct pair with your phone.. if u are going to buy a controller purposely to play some games, i think iPega much more cheaper.. RM8x compare with RM200.. DS3 and DS4 u need further buy the phone holder.. i bought universal gameklip previously.. but now my DS3 had broken, so i use iPega all the time..

yes, iPega is good value for money!! I use it for emulator games for SNES, MAME all work well!!
i bought the ipega PG-9021 for mobile phone, and PG-9023 for the Z3 Tablet Compact!!
PG-9021 is good enough for most mobile phone, forget about those smaller size design with small handle.
And the best all these can support PC gaming!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

A6000 is the best value of money APSC mirrorless camera.
It consider as a semiPro camera which can handle most kind of shooting.
if u grab some of those Play Memory Camera Apps, u can do more pro shooting within the camera, without photoshop, eg. Smooth reflection, Light shaft, Multiple Exposure, Sky HDR (GND filter effect), Time-lapse, light painting, etc!

btw i am waiting for the replacement model for this a6000 which might come in March! brows.gif

Hi, how's z5 camera compare to z2?

Does it still suffer from overexposed shots? Or they improved the software.

I using Orzly® Series Fusion Bumper Case for Xperia Z5 Premium. Love it. hard case at the back, not so soft but flexible on the side. Still fit nicely even use glass for front and back.

Features :-
- Polycarbonate and Toughened Polyurethane Hybrid Material
- Shockproof Absorption Air Cushion Design
- Quintessential Lift design of 1.0mm from Surface
- Lay On Table Lip Design
- 4 Points Ridged Rear Defenders

So far survive after a few times knock on the table.

Cons, only 1..  back easily get scratched.

okay.. try not to use flip case.. back case is okay.. i do have 1 flip case, after use it and i will feel the flip case trap all the heats there.. dinner dash, not sure what is the games, but should be light game.. im using my Z5P play NFS, GTA SA, Dead trigger for hours also no problem.. so i dont think is phone issue la.. when your friend feel unusual performance, may try to perform reboot..

hopefully android 6.0 can arrive to Z5 series ASAP.. im waiting to disable some apps permissions already..

I'm using it. Daily use won't feel hot. Only when gaming can notice the heat. But once off screen and leave it few minutes, it will be normal already. Even it is hot but doesn't affect performance. So far I'm quite satisfy on it d.

I checked out Z5P, and planning to get it. So for those who owned it, how do you all deal with the finger print magnet on the back? And what kind of cover is the best, flip or just back? And is it better to put tempered glass on front and back? ty.

im using chrome colour.. front rear with tempered glassSP. with a nilkin tpu clear case.. better than a flip case, flip case that i got is trap the heat and not my flavour as well, difficult for me to take photos.. if use it naked, it will feel too slippy.

Z5 is frosted back. Better than z5p. Won't get fingerprint easily. But I will apply both to protect it from dust or sand just in case. I got 3 sets of z5p tempered glass sp and 16sets normal sp for backup in future.

My M5 is having camera issue (back camera doesnt focus properly for distance more than 1 meter) and I am thinking of replacing the phone with a Z5 since now I dah ada PS4 can make use of the remote play. So I'll send my M5 for repairs, while waiting get myself a Z5 and when the M5 dah repair I just gift it to my mum as birthday present.

However I heard rumors they are announcing Z6 soon.

Should I wait or should I just go for Z5 now?

Yes, you can wait for Z6 if you want but what happen when Z6 out, there is a rumor Z7 will come out because there always a new one coming out after that.

Just my 2 cents.

Few night scene photo samples for reference. All these are point and shoot with superior auto mode. SA mode recognized correct scene and use lowest iso as possible to get the good output. This had lot of improvements compare with older z series.

Hi everyone! Happy new year! I'm thinking of getting a Z5C as an upgrade from my Z1. No doubt it is an upgrade even though the screen is a bit smaller. I will finally be able to bring my phone along when I go jogging. Anyone here already rooted their Z5C?

Hi there everyone, Gong Xi Fa Cai biggrin.gif

I'm thinking to get a new phone for myself, currently I'm using Nokia Lumia 1020 because I need a real good camera phone. But the thing is Windows OS is pain in the ass as the applications development is not that good.

So, I'm jumping to Android and looking for a good camera phone. But it seems like currently Z5 has the best camera performance so far in the market for Android?

Deciding between Z5 Premium and LG V10, which is a better go?
Sorry, I'm good in PC but not in phones laugh.gif

Get the V10 if youre into quality shots and full manual control. And for me, that's the only thing that will make me get the V10 tbh. Hahaha

U need some skills to get good photos for both.. But software part, LG do have better manual control. But in video part. I guess z5 is the unbeatable beast right now.

Point and shoot , still prefer Note 5 or S6E+ and unless u the need the extra screen + better head/ear phone sound quality , LG G4 camera is as good as V10

Hey anyone had camera problem with their z5 dual ? I mean when you taking photo in low light there is always red tint in the photo.. Some say it because of the iso is auto turning to max.. I did some manual shoot on 200 iso and the tint is gone. But in low light superior mode the tint is always there.. Same does on video for low light.. Red tint everywhere. Its this hardware issue ? Or the sensory ? There people have same problem as me but not localy (some in forum i google). I been using for 2 weeks now. Has anyone got this problem ? Im doing research on this before i go to service center for myself.. I hope im not alone on this..

better you post 1 of the photo samples.. i guess it's something like what u said, for those very dark situation with minimum light source condition, Sony really may boost up ISO up to 12800 which might created the red tint like u said.. but need to post one sample for our reference.

next time you try again, reduce the brightness in Superior Auto mode and see any changes.

Not really significant from your samples. But iso 1250 during daylight seem too over.. Lol. Try and observe again.

camera quality is very not predictive, however, when it is working correctly it is delivering gorgeous shots (if you know what you're doing, that is). no raw format output, no much thing to do in manual mode tho.
heat problem... from what i read it is a common problem for smartphone sporting snapdragon 810, but sony definitely did some things to help the heating problem, very much usable most of the time without burning my hands (but then i am using a ringke case so....)

that also means the quality is not consistent and the sony algorithm hasn't matured yet

Practice more and you will find Xperia z5 series camera is quite good for point and shoot.. I found it much better than previous generations. Hopefully android 6.0 able to provide full manual control so I may extend Xperia photography to next level.

From the photos I only realised there is 1 fur on smoked duck sushi there. Gosh

LG, HTC and even perennial slowpoke Samsung are getting their updates within these couple of days.

? Due to discounted price or design purposes. As I know they make it much more suitable to mobile gaming unlike GTA SA which took time to complete the game.

The ISO is bumped up that high to achieve higher shutter speed to reduce motion blur / handshake. 1/25 is pretty close to the limit of that. Do you want to have a shaky picture? biggrin.gif

One of my favorite with Xperia camera, high megapixels. I take with 20mp, crops it and do some basic editing to highlight the focus.. And it's good for sharing into social media..

My special edition xiaomi MI band.

Seem like you are using low resolution for z5.. Without zoom, z5 contrast looks attractive. I do tested with my friend ip6s plus, sharpness, details, 6s plus win. Z5p win over contrast, colour production. Video stabilization is z5p for sure.. Both are overall good.. For auto mode, I would say ip6s plus produce more details most of time..

oo.. no wonder.. feel it was so blurry due to so called Clear Zoom, it's still a digital cropping & upscale to the resolution.. but no more details there.. i do use clear zoom in previously but the quality is not as bad as yours.. but definitely hard to see the details already.. i show some of my samples here.

Wedding activity is 3X zoom while birthday dinner is nearly 3X dinner too.. both are actually need to hold it well and good spot.

without pinch it will feel it looks okay, after pinch it in will feel no more details at all.. dont use it always but only use it for special case.

EXIF details:
Birhtday dinner - ISO 250, Exposure time 1/32s
Wedding - ISO 64,, Exposure time 1/32s

sorry for the portrait mode, i found if i use 16:9 portrait mode, photos will tend to be rotate view, but view from the phone is okay..

the major problem isn't really on the blurriness (remember my shaky hand?), but more on the color reproduction
the lighting on stage made the whole picture looks overly red, and flatten the facial details of the ppl on stage
i saw other phones in front of me taking pictures too, and theirs turned out a hell lot better

This is really tight lipped. No leaks at all until the final moment. Looks like Sony is really keeping the Z6 to later this year.

Yes. Sony still didnt allow people control manually. Hopefully Android 6 may bring something special but least chance.

colour production from Xperia always +1 contrast but depend on situation and timing. i will always recommend not to use camera zoom feature.

few tips that need to take note for all photography:
1. The rules of third (enable grid line in camera setting)
2. Lighting direction

in summary, not easy to learn but just have to keep practice.. u must get right timing, right position, right situation get the right photo. If you are care about quality, then need to start from beginning. Or just want a powerful point & shoot camera, i guess iPhone is the best at this moment.

similar to mine

happened twice already, in the middle of a call, suddenly the voice became like the sound when Windows is just about to throw BSOD, then black screen, then auto-reboot, suspect was due to overheating, because calling people while Waze was still active in the background, and bluetooth was connected to HU as well

I do faced auto reboot suddenly and I suspect due to sim card problem. I'm using cut off nano sim instead of proper nano sim. Not really fit but I force to fit it. I'm planning to go centre and change it. Don't think it's overheating issue.

yea, unless u need the phone up and running in a hurry, it is probably a better idea to get a proper sim instead of cutting it (but i had no problem with cut sim back then)

so you face the problem with proper nano sim? or u just changed proper nano sim after the problem?

I also not sure what happen on my Z5P. but it does reboot for few times from my experience.. As i know, when you sudden remove your sim, your phone will forced to reboot. that why i suspect my cut nano sim.

Nope, the nano sim I get it new from centre on the day I bought my phone coz my prevs is micro Sims, n since I've been using it for so long I decided to just get a new nano sim replacement. And the reboot occurred first time yesterday. That's why I don't think it's the sim causing it.

Not covered. One of the brands I know that provide such warranty (one time claim only) is Huawei, but that is limited to selected models.

Unlike certain counties, there's insurance for accidental cases, including cracked display.

That's the 'standard' of certain Malaysians (other countries also have) thinking that manufacturers are solely responsible for their user behavior. Even if you have an iPhone, Apple also won't repair it at their cost.

The battery life is above average I'd say.
The phone does heat up fast but doesn't overheat under normal use.

How much would the retail price today cost?

Currently I'm using an older Sony Xperia model called TX been using it for more than 2 years already, almost KO, overheating thus draining battery fast with battery life can only last for less than a day

I'm quite satisfied with the battery life, granted you don't go gaming for long hours la, with work n some gaming, it can last me whole day. Overheating is still acceptable I guess, it gets warm but not that hot of what you expect when gaming. Normal usage is fine.

It should be one of the causes since fb is always running in the background.

Hi guys I have a question regarding Z5/P.

May I know does the camera app shut down when phone is getting hot? How frequent is it? And how long the app will last before it's shutting down?

FYI I'm using Z3+ and is facing the dreaded overheating issue, especially the camera app, I can't keep the app for more than 20 second, otherwise it'll just shut down.

Also, my camera app will confirm shut down if I run it right after restarting the phone. Does this happen to Z5/P?

Thank you very much guys!

Ok.. I only faced once for the app close cause overheating message appear. But this is because I having flip case. I take around and around 15 minutes standby and shooting time. Under hot sun at 12pm time.

After I'm using naked or tpu back case, no more close down. But I do test 4k video 5 minutes and it's still going. I do record nearly 1 hour video for time lapse video it's fine during 5-6pm.. Right now I don't use any case.

Z5 Premium. Don't use flip case. It may trap the heat. I use it naked with both front and rear tempered glass on only. Enough to cover ady.. I can play GTA with max setting 1 hour no lag issue. Sometime I feel phone a bit warm then I take my phone go bath. Lol

Imos is the best one, but take note about the pricing though, RM17x per piece.
Material used is gorilla glass, treated with oleophobic coating that last long.

I heard that z5 series is the last model in Sony mobile z series. It is being replaced by the x series. This is quite sad to hear as I just bought the z5p and it is being outdated soon by the X.

Yes. It is confirmed by Sony that there won't be Z6.
You can assume that X Performance is the 2016 flagship.

no worries. z5p still has some advantage over the x series namely the bigger 5.5" 4k screen and the better designed speaker placement

also it seems that malaysia (and a few other western countries) will not get the x performance. if this is true then z5p will still remain as the flagship model from sony.

From this article, they state X-Performance is for Asia only. Quite confusing. Maybe Sony hasn't plan any release countries yet due to it coming out only around June.

Anyway, from the white paper of X-Performance there includes every possible LTE band out there. So, it is possible that it will be released in Malaysia.

Lol. Don't worry about catching up. When I bought a new Xperia, I effectively turn off my antenna from all new Sony phones until it starts to lag from Lollipop onwards...

My Z1 never had a back cover due to preference with dock to charge.

If I own a Z5 I will use cover for sure.

it's mostly the same with Xperia Z2/Z3 and older devices. expect some slight delays in action packing games, but fighting and RPG games did pretty well.
you need min 10mbps internet and LAN cable connected PS4 to run well.

experienced it with Z2 and Playstation Vita.

You definitely need to have Internet, and remote play requires a local area network, means you only can remote play at home.

After updated to Android marshmallow, I can feel the UI of Xperia and performance seem faster and smooth a lot. One of the good things is I am able to control app permission manually.

No major improvements. the only things that i felt is useful is app permission, call setting for dual sim (can set always use which SIM to call/sms). the rest changes are like Lifelog work better now, home screen app (customisable).. screenshot now in 8mp resolution

Anyone here ever use LDAC during music session?

I found that the SQ increase quite significantly. The sound stage is immerse and balance.

Wonder how this LDAC compare to APTX 2.0?

Good, software shutter button is faster. No burst mode. Every time need to focus again.. Quality hardly to compare without before after.. Will further explore.. No manual pro mode.

So far I can felt that battery is quite difficult to drop.. It's good news.

I like this function, cuz it was so accurate and no spike when i was using z3. Glad that they finally fixed it on z5
