Just watched Sony CES, there was nothing new about Xperia (rarely mentioned). We shall see what will be announced during MWC.

Opposite here, Sandisk drives drive me nuts. Kingston works great.
But the performance crown still goes to Sandisk Extreme Pro.

Hi.
Pros :
- Small
- Camera autofocus is speedy
- Video stabilization is the best at the moment
- White balance is extremely accurate
- 2 front facing speaker (nice surround)
- Enhancement from DSEE HX is noticeable
- Can be washed every now and then
- Screen is usable with some water on it
- Tamed the Snapdragon 810 well. The body is just warm.
- Camera doesn't overheat like older generations
- Extremely wide lens
- The frosted glass has baby skin feeling

Cons :
- Screen pixel is noticeable sometimes
- Screen has a reddish cast on stock setting, can be solved by adjusting the white balance
- Takes time to get used to the fingerprint sensor
- Camera doesn't have manual mode
- Tends to exposure on bright side (Highlight blows out sometimes)
- Weird camera logic that shouldn't exist :
---- Full Auto mode tends to choose high ISO, opening the brightness & colour menu will reduce the ISO by half
---- Full Auto mode doesn't trigger Low Light mode (ISO3200 above) when 23/20MP is chosen
---- Full Auto mode identifies the scene surprising accurate
---- Manual Mode + 23/20MP mode has no access to ISO control
---- Manual Mode + HDR has no access to ISO control
---- Manual Mode + Scenes has no access to 23/20MP (stuck at 8MP)
- Luckily the 8MP is decent enough. I'm using 20MP for Full Auto mode and 8MP (Handheld Twilight) in manual mode for low light shots

For 23MP/20MP, it would be helpful to have a fast memory card like Sandisk Extreme. Class 10 is insufficient to get instant saving.

1) Camera is nice, but need to get used to it. Some tweaks here and there, not as simple as point and shoot.
2) Speaker quality... dual front facing speaker. The volume is low, but sufficient. The surround sound is good.
3) The DSEE HX does a very good job in earphone.
4) Warm, not hot. Running antutu is just ~60C. Usual usage is around 43C only.

Sony treated the processor like SD 808. The maximum simultaneous is just 4xA53 and 2xA57, but the one of the A57 will go offline very quickly, maybe active for 1 or 2 seconds only.

1xA57 at 99% of time. You can download PerfMon from XDA. It has floating window stay on top on your application to show the real time status.

It could be due to the game not optimized enough for Snapdragon 810. Download PerfMon app from XDA and monitor the CPU usage when you are playing the game. The A53 (cores 0-3) should spike up to high usage and 1 A57 core is on.

The ISO is bumped up that high to achieve higher shutter speed to reduce motion blur / handshake. 1/25 is pretty close to the limit of that. Do you want to have a shaky picture?

It is a tradition of Sony in improving the camera in later firmware. But.... where is the manual mode and RAW?

Both are alright. Are you missing anything?

Anyone noticed 8MP has better dynamic range by 1 stop or so?

Z5 Compact reporting in. Been using it for 2 months, no camera force close due to overheating.

Anyone noticed after using fingerprint, you still need to put in pin number?

It does reduce in Z5 Compact. Now it is not noticeable now, as opposed to warm in 5.1

Nope, I keep everything stock.

Bug 1 : Small app launch menu overlaps with on screen buttons, so it is pretty hard to press it without triggering the back button.

Ahh, got it! I used Greenify to hibernate + lock screen.

The small apps issue is gone after restarting to safe mode, use it then back to normal mode.

Did you notice the fingerprint is slightly slower now? But the accuracy is improved largely.

If you boot into safe mode, you will find it is fine.
