Hi guys I have a question regarding Z5/P.

May I know does the camera app shut down when phone is getting hot? How frequent is it? And how long the app will last before it's shutting down?

FYI I'm using Z3+ and is facing the dreaded overheating issue, especially the camera app, I can't keep the app for more than 20 second, otherwise it'll just shut down.

Also, my camera app will confirm shut down if I run it right after restarting the phone. Does this happen to Z5/P?

Thank you very much guys!

Ok.. I only faced once for the app close cause overheating message appear. But this is because I having flip case. I take around and around 15 minutes standby and shooting time. Under hot sun at 12pm time.

After I'm using naked or tpu back case, no more close down. But I do test 4k video 5 minutes and it's still going. I do record nearly 1 hour video for time lapse video it's fine during 5-6pm.. Right now I don't use any case.

Thanks to SD810 wet touch algorithm. I did it once with Z3+ under the rain and find it pretty good. There's once I was browsing FB under the rain with my Z2 and was like, damn I should've get Z3+. tongue.gif

Don't get Z3+, I own Z3+ and it sucks like hell, the overheating issue is serious.

Any Z5 Premium Dual (E6883) user here? Do you receive any OTA notification or can you upgrade to Nougat with the Xperia Companion?

Another thing I don't like is deleting only certain call. Need to touch the call, touch call details, then only can delete. I prefer delete appear in long touch popup menu.
I think you didn't read previous post. There is no OTA yet. All using PC for Z5P.
*
I did, in fact I asked it few days ago and someone answered it, I appreciate that. However I ask again just to double confirm, coz OTA can come anytime.

I also asked about the Xperia Companion, did anyone received update through that software? For Z5P Dual, Coz I don't.

Yeap i will.. Will be installing if I have chance. The download is slowing down already probably loading on Sony servers.

Had been waiting for this long enough, just jumped to Z5P few days ago from OnePlus2 purely for Nougat, Sony functionaliies and the 4K screen.

EDIT2: 45minutes update time for 255 apps,  drained around 15% battery..

And its nougat!

Thanks for the update, I just reach home and now is updating, take very long time biggrin.gif

Guys, do you set your photos to be save in SD card or internal memory?

Currently I'm saving the pictures into internal memory but thinking of changing it to SD card, but worry this will degrade the performance, like camera startup lag or something.

Will saving pictures to DS card effect performance dramatically?

Did I miss something, or I did miss the option to select the sim to use when making a call. Z5P here. After update, no options to select sim when making a call. I had to go to settings to change which sim for calling.
*
There's an option under Setting > Dual SIM to choose default sim to use for call, message or ask everytime.

I replaced my Z1 batt myself. RM68 for the battery if not mistaken.

I also replaced my wife ZL batt.
Z1 is still good for many things.

Cool! My guess is that the water proof feature is gone after you open up the case?

BTW I just wonder, is it ok for u to run this test?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general...-water-t2897886

Basically these are the steps:

QUOTE
Here is a test which uses just the phone and it's service mode (or any barometer app).

1. dial *#*#7378423#*#*
2. go to "Service Tests"
3. go to "pressure sensor"
4. slightly compress the phone using your thumb and index finger by pressing on the display and back
I'm wondering how well the seal after we open up the phone.

Thank you so much! notworthy.gif

I can't do the test already on Z1, it's will failed, the charging flap already removed. My small son play with the flap and cannot closed properly, rubber detached. Never think to buy a replacement.

(test passed on Z5P)

You need to buy a new seal after opening the back cover. I bought 1 set for back together with the battery but still not use. Because 2 days after replaced the battery, I also bought a new back cover that already have seal.

Thank you so much for the reply! So they are selling the seal after all!

I'm using Z5P and I'm intended to use this phone for long, was worry about water proofing issue when opening up the phone to repair. Now that you confirm this I can sleep in peace already biggrin.gif
