So you will order non touchbar with 16gb ram?
*
Nop, with default spec 8GB ram. If you think you need the 16GB ram, then just upgrade it.

For those who bought mbp 16 with touchbar, how would they switch on the laptop if touchbar rosak or crack? Or once touchbar is dead, then big issue.

If I'm not mistaken, new MBP automatically turn on the device after you open the lid cover (saw it from video review).

There is USB-C to Lightning retailing at RM119 at Apple Store. sweat.gif
I think the best is to get multi port adapter which consist of HDMI, USB 3 and USB-C

i have been using the 2016 12-inch MacBook for more than 4 months to date. It is good actually. I do not find a problem using the keyboard. It is real fast for typing. smile.gif

The 2016 MacBook Pro has been using gen 2 of "新鸳鸯蝴蝶剑“ keyboard. I am sure that it is much better than the 12-inch now. biggrin.gif

I guess I'll just have to get used to it, hopefully it's ergonomic. Stores say the stocks will come in by next month but they have no idea when - looks like maybe I should just place my order online

yes, the av multi port usb-c adapter is the best adapter that I have been using all the time on my 12-inch 2016 Macbook.

Hi all, can't say I'm not disappointed with the recent announcement. I was so excited about the beautiful machine because it will be my first Apple laptop but the price is wayyyyyy above my budget.Initially I plan to buy the 15' and prepared rm 8k++ for it but the price is RM 9.5k(education store price).

So no choice, now I plan to get the 13inches without touch bar.
Main usage
1) web development (Java script, html, css)
2) app development using X code. Android Studio or Eclipse
3) YouTube and movies, web browsing.
4) light video editing

Want to bump it to 16gb ram so the price will be rm 7k in education store. Hopefully it will be sufficient for my purpose =)

I needed a machine like 2 months ago; I'm now getting used to the Windows 10 so if I don't get my hands on one soon I might just scrap the entire idea of parting with RM10k for this machine!

im also aim for the 13inches model
i think 8gb ram is more than enough. dont have to push to 16gb

then save up the money to get adapter, magic mouse, cover and etc
cuz you're not gonna use it as your primary work station, am i right?

I'll second that notion. 8Gb is sufficient. 2 years with my 13" and have yet to encounter any issues with normal usage.

Personally the new rmbp prices do suck big time. I was thinking of upgrading and looks like I am sticking with my current machine.

The usb c ports are a real pain since most of the accessories I do use wired are all usb. But I do appreciate the thinner profile and the option to get a gun metal shade.
