Hi all, can't say I'm not disappointed with the recent announcement. I was so excited about the beautiful machine because it will be my first Apple laptop but the price is wayyyyyy above my budget.Initially I plan to buy the 15' and prepared rm 8k++ for it but the price is RM 9.5k(education store price).

So no choice, now I plan to get the 13inches without touch bar.
Main usage
1) web development (Java script, html, css)
2) app development using X code. Android Studio or Eclipse
3) YouTube and movies, web browsing.
4) light video editing

Want to bump it to 16gb ram so the price will be rm 7k in education store. Hopefully it will be sufficient for my purpose =)

im also aim for the 13inches model
i think 8gb ram is more than enough. dont have to push to 16gb

then save up the money to get adapter, magic mouse, cover and etc
cuz you're not gonna use it as your primary work station, am i right?

For now I wanna use the MacBook Pro to do coding and web development, then slowly make the transition to become primary workstation. I have a Lenovo Y580 , bought it four years ago now still kicking ass with SSD running so it will still be my main machine for the time being hehe.

For the ram, yeah I think 8gb is enough for now, but if I wana use it for the next 5years, might as well upgrade to 16gb?

shipping date is 6-8weeks later, guess I will just wait until December to grab it. Can't bear the long waiting time haha

Hi, I am also a mac user who does app development and some photo editing. 8GB is just nice for me as OS X has very good memory management.
But do keep note that you have to close the apps that you are not in use or else 8GB is not really sufficient.

Hey thanks for your input! Guess I will go for 16gb then.
