Yes, the Samsung one long time ago can, but not anymore. It was the 850 model I believe.

Yup, precisely, that's the model.

I was probably refering to those LCDs that cost nearly as much as kuro.. but don't perform as well biggrin.gif

yes.. if you willing to fork out for 40" full HD such as X or W series.... better do some comparison first.

I guess a good thing to do is always compare within band lah.. top of line LCD vs top of line plasma and so on.

Otherwise, comparison is useless.

Having said that.. if I were to buy a 50"... I think comparison can get even harder.....

Yes, astro on 32A53 is suprisingly good. Almost makes me feel i'm watching on my SONY 29" CRT with DRC100. And i'm only using a split RF going over a long distance, maybe 20 foot cable or more. I think if i can use S-VIDEO it'll look nicer.

I heard that A53M is really good on Astro compare to the rest. But when on DVD & Blu-Ray, I discovered this model is really bad in terms of PQ and colour. Watching it side by side with others like Philip 9432, Sony D300 and Panny 700MK, these 3 models are great . My personal view is that the Sony model is the most well balanced when comes to PQ and colour. Some say it look cartoon, not sure what it means tho. Now contemplating whether to change since my initial thought was A53M. Will be using it mostly on DVD and console games. Any of you guys got any inputs or comparisons on these models?

I personally like D300 regardless of what other people think of it, whether cartoon like colours, blah, blah, blah but I guess we should buy based on our own preferences than to listen to other people's opinion. I wanted to buy D300 initially but heard that the next range of Bravia LCDs will be coming in Full HD sets including the 'V' series. Will be launching worldwide in Spring or might as well wait lor since now already January 2008, a few more months of waiting won't kill me at all. Of course, there's a drawback, not all the Full HD sets come with top specs, some are basic entry level models, they don't even feature wide color gamut, 10-bit panel or even 100Mhz motion floor. Of course, x.y. colour is also not included except for the top models, pricing is still undisclosed yet but I guess some might be as cheap as Philips' Full HD LCD offerings and some might be as expensive as a Pioneer Kuro, who knows, right?

finally got to compare both the sharp a63 and toshiba x3500 side by side...astro wise, sharp is very pixel-ish, and toshiba is better, although the sales man mention they are only using rgb connection with 1 astro spilt to all the tv in the showroom.

For playing BR movie, sharp screen is darker, like less contrast, and the black doesn't look like real black, while the toshiba is brighter, looks clearer and crisper, both tested with hdmi cable

Try going to SenQ and HSL, other electrical shops also able to match the price or maybe slightly cheaper but there's a possibility that SenQ offers extended warranty for the set.

Friend...for LCD or plasma ...the source is very important...if you input in crap...you get crap also...but since its a big screen...means bigger crap...
You know what?, I understand you cos', I also go to see big screen at care4 once...and they really dun care what they display...thats why most ppl. will get frighten after going there...
To view a Plasma and LCD as it should be, please go to mega electronic store like SenQ, Harvy etc...but sometimes Courts also play crap.
