Hi, would like to know to clarify these question below:

1.What is the difference between Bagus WM and FAST? Is there different in calling and sms rates and feature such as active 10?
2.Will it affect my current plan if I opt for 4G sim card (without change to FAST plan)?
3.I have read up the 4G FAST internet pass , mention the pass will auto renew when the validity ends, does this means it will auto deduct my credit to renew the pass?
4.Am I able to disable data roaming but keep it only for call and sms as I most of the time will be overseas and do not wish to get data roam charge

Hi,
The answers for all your question as per below:

1. There is Activ10 for both plans and the rate for FAST you may refer via this link: http://www.hotlink.com.my/ms/plans/fast.html

2. No, there will be no any changes on your plan if you just change your SIM.

3. Yes, there will be auto deductionon your renewal date and you will receive notification SMS.

4. You can turn off your mobile data + data roaming from your device. We are unable to cancel the service from our end.

Thanks

Will the call and sms rate same for Bagus WM plan as I no longer able to know Bagus WM rates form your websites

3. Yes, there will be auto deductionon your renewal date and you will receive notification SMS.
Is there any way we can stop this if I do not wish for auto deduction?

4. You can turn off your mobile data + data roaming from your device. We are unable to cancel the service from our end.
I und that 4G will auto get an IP and might cause data roaming charge even the data and data roaming is off from our device side, is that true?

1- The rates for Activ10 will be the same as Hotlink FAST

2- There is no any other way as for Hotlink FAST the data will be auto renewed after the expiry date.

3- There is no such thing as per above. In order to avoid additional charges, kindly turn on your airplane mode during your WIFI session as if you didnt, the WIFI connection might drop and will hook to mobile data if the connection is not strong.

Thanks.

info about Hotlink Bagus WM

info received from Hotlink

"We do sorry as the plan has been an expired plan and we had already removed the page information from our website. However to answer to your question, you are enjoying 24sen/min & 5sen/SMS (to Hotlink/Maxis numbers) and 36sen/min & 10sen/SMS (to another network) with the current plan.

You also will be able to enjoy the lowest rates (as compared to baseline) of domestic calls (Voice & Video calls) when you maintain a credit balance of more than RM10. With that, you will enjoy 20sen/min & 5sen/SMS to Maxis/Hotlink numbers, and 30sen/min & 10sen/SMS to other network. All calls are in 30-second charging block. This plan gives you a 30-day active period upon activation with an additional 90-day deactive period."

Hi Hotlink, I saw you have implement the improvement plan called Hotlink FAST with revamp back the validity 365. rclxms.gif

However based on the FAQ at your hotlink website, I still have a doubt and questions as below:-

Q: How do I start using the internet? Will I be charged pay-per-use rates at 10sen/10kb?
A: In Hotlink FAST plan, you will not be charged pay-per-use rates. To start using the internet, buy a FAST Internet Pass.

From the above it states, is it meaning that I won't been deduct my balance pay-per-use rate if I accidentally turn on the mobile data and without subscribe any FAST Internet Pass? hmm.gif

Furthermore, is it means that my internet won't work at all (Totally no internet connection) even through I turn on my mobile data? Unless I subscribe the FAST Internet Pass, then my data plan will start to work. Is it means like that?

Hi JuneResources,

Yes you are correct, there will be no pay-per-use data charges on this plan to prevent accidental usages by customers. All internet will be hard-stopped if you do not have any active FAST Internet Pass. In other words, you cannot connect to internet at all without an active Fast Internet Pass even you have turned on your mobile data.

Based on this thread here's my understanding. I'm considering to change to hotlink fast from my current hotlink wm. If you could answer my below questions would be great.

1. Let's say i buy 1gb lte + 1gb non lte quota for rm30/mth. If my area has lte all the time and i have used up my 1gb lte quota and remainder 1gb non lte will the speed be lte speed or throttled to h+ only for the next 1gb.

2. Is the call n sms rates 100% the same for hotlink wm vs fast?

Thanks

Hi laytiong

Below is our anwsers for both of your questions:

1. The 1GB LTE allocation for the pass can only be use with LTE connection. For the normal 1GB allocation, user can use any type of network E, 3G or LTE to utilize the usage.
2. Enjoy flat rate of 12sen/30-sec & 12sen/SMS to all local networks. Video call rate is the same as voice call rate.

For more infor about Hotlink FAst, youa mye refer to this link: https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

Thank you

Dear Hotlink,

Please consider to have a sim pack combination of 365 days validity and tablet plan.

For example offer us 365 validity with 3GB data for RM100.00

Since there's a lot customer who don't use internet much is more then enough for us.

TQ

"In other words, you cannot connect to internet at all without an active Fast Internet Pass even you have turned on your mobile data. "

But in your FAQ, you have this:

Q: I have finished 100% of my 2GB quota from RM30 2GB pass. Can I still continue surfing? What are the charges incurred?

A: You may continue surfing at no charge at reduced internet speed until your pass renews. To unlock your speed, purchase a FAST Internet Add-on from Hotlink RED App or dial *100# > FAST Internet Add-ons.

Hotlink Fast FAQ
Does it mean I still use internet at reduced speed even though my Fast pass expired or quota finished?

The Q&A refers that you can continue to surf (but at reduced speed) although your quota is finished BUT your FAST pass has still not expired. Like when you've a 30-day internet pass, and you've used up your quota on Day 20.

This new Hotlink FAST plan works in such a way that you'll not be able to surf at all, if you don't subscribe to any internet pass. In other words, you'll not have the risk of being charged for PPU internet.

So to your question:
Quota finished but FAST pass not expired - Yes, still can use internet at reduced speed.
FAST pass expired, whether quota finished or not - No, cannot use internet at all.

Hope the above helps somewhat. smile.gif

Hi aku_dia,

With Hotlink FAST, you need to subscribe to a FAST Internet pass in order for you to be able to use the internet. You also eligible to enjoy a free Spotify subscription when you subscribe FAST data plan. Further info you may refer http://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

Hi nanan75,

You may migrate to Hotlink Fast or purchase a new SIM pack of Hotlink Fast to subscribe the validity 90/365 service.

For the mobile internet access, it will depends on your preference. If your main concern is to keep the mobile number active, you may choose not to purchase the mobile internet pass.

If you have purchase the pass, you may cancel its auto renewal via *100#.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply. If i take the rm48 4gb plan, minimum monthly "commitment" is rm48 + rm30 right? With the rm30 being minimum credit for voice, sms, etc valid for 30days.

this is very true. i got slapped with data roaming charges while transiting in hk, although both mobile data and data roaming were turned off on my iphone.

if you want to use voice and sms when overseas, it is safer to put the sim card in a 2g phone.

Hi ,may I know if this FAST plan working correctly on 3G h/p ?
i heard sb said that ,only 4G h/p can use this plan ?? is it true?

I only need the 3G and hotlink365 working correctly with this plan,is it possible? (i knew the 3G quota is tiny with FAST plan, but previous plan #hotlink ,is sxck with its validity . and actually i use wifi most of the time)

p/s: this is my first post. rclxms.gif

If your phone is not 4G-capable, I don't think you'll be able to get LTE speeds no matter what plan you subscribe. I doubt a 3G phone can get you 4G speeds.

I believe the main point of Hotlink FAST is to enable users to subscribe to extended validity 365 easily.

I do subscribes to 365 validity till 25 Mac 2016 and Promo 500MB for 30days till 12 Feb 2016.

Once I switch to the Hotlink Fast Plan, does the Promo 500MB for 30days will get auto renew at 12 Feb 2016 ?

Thanks !

Hi Michaelteo2000,

Please be informed, once your plan changed to Hotlink Fast, any data pass that is not available with Hotlink Fast will be active up until its renewal date only.

Hi scorpio75jb,

Hotlink Fast is where you can surf fast internet and the packages supports 4G with the option to purchase Validity 365 but no free basic internet. #Hotlink WM is where the plan has free basic internet but can't purchase Validity 365.

Hi scorpio75jb,

You are able to purchase any mobile internet pass or Hot Ticket if you have utilised the existing pass. After full utilisation, you are able to use at the throttled speed.

Hi,

If you're subscribed to a data pass, the quota will be used from your data pass first. Once the pass has expired it will revert back to your Free Social Chat.

Thank you.

Hi,

Kindly note our current Spotify Premium offer is dependent on your data plan subscribed. This applies both for postpaid and prepaid services. Hence, you may want to take note on our offer at the point you convert your plan.

Thank you.

Hi #Hotlink.

My line is currently on validity 365 until feb-2017. If I switch to hotlink FAST plan, will the validity remain until feb-2017 without having to renew validity 365 after the switch?

Thank you.

Hi #Hotlink.

I am currently using Celcom postpaid and I would like to port in to Hotlink FAST.

Is it possible?

How should I go about with the porting?

Also, does Hotlink FAST support Validity 365?

Hi Maxis, need to clarify with you certain information pertaining to the Hotlink Fast package.

- If I subscribe to 5GB @ RM48 plan, is the calculation based on 2.5GB (from 7am to 1159pm) & another 2.5GB (from 12am to 0659am)?

- How about the 365 days validity?

- Any Sportify premium available for this package?

- How about the promotion package of free 8GB for per month weekend usage for life?

Thank you.

Careful on this matter,

I called 123 and talk with 1 of their operator. She clearly say all validity will carried forward if i migrate to Hotlink Fast. But after i done migrate to Hotlink Fast with a fee of RM5.00 to my very surprise all ny validity gone left only 30 days.

I called them and they refuse to do anything with it. Now all i can do is report this to SKMM and if this cant settle this i'll try complain elsewhere.

Customer service operator giving out wrong informations and we have to bear the consenquences?

Hotlink Fast is where you can surf fast internet and the packages supports 4G with the option to purchase Validity 365 but no free basic internet. #Hotlink WM is where the plan has free basic internet but can't purchase Validity 365.

so if i change to Hotlink Fast,i would`t be receiving any free basic internet,is it?

Your information is very wrong. Hotlink FAST plan doesn't give you the option to purchase 365 validity and it does come with free basic internet capped at 500mb.

Thanks for the reply.  If i take the rm48 4gb plan, minimum monthly "commitment" is rm48 + rm30 right?  With the rm30 being minimum credit for voice, sms, etc valid for 30days.

Hi eugene447,

The free 8GB data for weekend only applicable with 4G network which mean that if you phone is only 3G capable device you cant enjoy this benefit.

#Hotlink Maxis yesterday i went to maxis outlet at wangsa walk to change a prepaid mini sim card to micro sim card, but they want to charge me RM10 for it. so i decided not to change it for now. based on your website info that outlet should be an exclusive partner. I thought changing sim at exclusive partner outlet supposed to be free?
Can u guys clarify this.thank you.

yea i already asked 2 outlet. 1 at wangsa walk and yesterday at alpha angle wangsa maju. both also want to charge me RM10 for it. so today me and my mum decided to go to maxis centre at klcc. the number actually belongs to my mum. i just helped her since she don't know anything about the process.
after they called our number i straight away go the counter and asked to change the sim card and to my surprise they also want to charge me RM10 for it. i lazy to argue anymore so just paid for it.

and here's another surprise. after paying for the charge they offered us a free new hotlink fast prepaid sim pack and said it's a promotion and they will register the new number under my mum's name. i was like wtf??? seriously? so is the RM10 charged was actually for the "free" prepaid sim pack but they disguised it as payment for changing sim card? this is like secretly pushing customer to register another number.

come on #Hotlink Maxis. is this actually normal practice for you guys? i seriously need explaination from you.

Hi there,

The standard fee for a SIM replacement is RM10, and it comes with a RM5 credit for your number. Kindly note the free SIM card replacement is only applicable if you are upgrading to an LTE SIM for the first time. However, allow us to check further by providing us your details with time and date of your visit via PM.

Thank you.

yes i am changing the mini sim card to micro LTE sim for the first time. before this my mum's still using her old mini sim that we bought years before and her old sim card is perfectly fine just that i wanted to upgrade it to LTE micro sim hence why i'm asking you the need to charge us the fee. i said the same thing at the counter that i want to change the mini sim card to micro sim card.

and no i don't think my mum got RM5 credited into her account since no messages received about it. anyway already pm-ed u the details.

i hope i will get a proper explaination about this.thanks.

Hi Hotlink team, according to your website : http://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

3G smartphone, High speed + Free Basic Internet
4G smartphone, High speed + Free 8GB

My questions are:
1. If I don't subscribe to any internet pass, can I use the free basic internet?

2. Is that mean that, no Free Basic Internet access if I am using 4G smartphone without subscribe any internet pass?

3. What if, I use 3G smartphone during weekday and 4G smartphone during weekend, do I get the free basic internet during weekday and free 2GB during weekend?

4. About the "Free 8GB" for a month during weekend, for the month have more than 8 days in weekend, eg. July 2016, there are 10 days for weekend, will the last weekend still granted with free 1Gb per day or not?

Thank you.

Hi Hotlink team,

Thanks for the reply.

One point still unclear. I need a 4G smartphone to enjoy both basic internet and weekend data. If I use 3G smartphone, can I enjoy weekend 4G data?

Another question:
1. will the weekend 4G data applicable on area without 4G coverage? For example, when I drive on the highway where certain area without 4G coverage and I do not have active internet pass, will I be connected to 3G network or I can only access internet via basic data?

2. For free basic data, I can see it allow us to use on Tweeter, Waze, Wechat, Line and Whatsapp. How about internet browser?

Thank you.

Hi al_madd,

You will need to ensure that your current prepaid plan is Hotlink FAST and also the coverage in your location is under 4G network. However, the SIM pack of Hotlink FAST is not available at Sabah/Sarawak states.

I found that if my credit expired, the monthly pass that I've bought is unusable. The monthly pass still far from expiry date. I need to topup first in order to continue using the pass. Is it normal?

It's been quite a while since Validity 365 stopped being available to Hotlink Fast plan. Removed already.

Hotlink RED is an app to manage our prepaid plans, it's not a prepaid plan itself and doesn't give you all those.

I think you're referring to Hotlink FAST plan.

Not a surprise that once they start giving free internet (8GB/month on weekends in the case of Hotlink Fast), they'll remove Validity 365.

Maybe try to appeal for change of plan to the older one (not available from shops anymore) that allows Validity 365 but no free internet.

That's from the #Hotlink plan? Is that the plan you have now, or are you planning to get a new SIM pack?

I'm not sure if #Hotlink plan is still available these days as I hardly see this at the shops.

Hi, I'm a user of Hotlink Fast plan. It seems that they offered 2gb free of 4g internet plan on weekend but I can't use them up even on weekend and it annoys me very much. I always buy the Rm48 package with 5gb of data plan. Help is greatly appreciated.

You CANNOT get Validity 365 with the Hotlink Fast plan.

Validity 365 is no longer available for Hotlink Fast.

Hi do_re_mi,

You can keep the same number if you want to convert as prepaid. Do refer http://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html for more details on the plan.

Yes you can still use HotlinkFAST in east Malaysia if you have purchased it somewhere else. Do note that the free weekend quota is only available in 4G-coverage area.

I am on Hotlink FAST. I have another SIM on the same plan but was subscribed to 365 validity.

Now that the 365 balance is low, I would like to transfer my credit into the 365 SIM.

Q1. How do I do that?

Q2. How long will the credit be valid? I mean, does it follow the 365 validity or it has its own validity?

I'm confused.

Was 2nd day after registering at maxis center. so i'd guess there was about 3.5d left still from the initial 5 days.

I topped up a first RM30 on 20th November, and validity bumped to 20th December.

(1) So this "extend" validity - isn't it supposed to add to existing validity?

(2) So if I top-up RM10 today, am I going to get 30+10 days of validity? Or am I to expect the system to prevail whichever is the longest between new top up and existing validity i.e. since existing is longer by ~29d, the system will keep that and ignores validity brought by RM10 top up.

Just a note on SIM activation and CRT DIY.

A day after activating 2x SIM packs, message came in about being auto-subscribed to CRT DIY, free for 2 months.

Immediately unsubscribed by terminating package via USSD menu.

Hotlink validity doesn't stack. You top up RM30 today, you get 30 days' validity from today and nothing more. If you already had more than 30 days' validity, then nothing changes.

You top up RM30, then RM10 today, you will still only get 30 days validity from today.

I am on Hotlink FAST but still too complicated to understand... I need to know the following before subscribe the auto renew.

1. Can I subscribe promo daily RM3 for 1GB when I am on monthly renewal? What is the different between the add-on RM12 for 1GB ?

2. When I subscribe to monthly, and I do a cancel during half there month, will I still have the remaining half month to go? Or will be cancel immediately?

3. Can I switch monthly plan before the plan ends? How will the date calculate?

Thanks.

Hi localbus,

1. 1GB for RM3 is a daily pass while 1GB for RM12 is monthly pass. The difference is the active period for you to utilise the pass.

2. The current weekly and monthly mobile internet passes are auto renew . To cancel the auto renewal, you need to dial *100# > Internet Passes > Internet Passes Status > Cancel Auto Renewal . Once you done that, your current pass can be used until its expiry date.

3. Kindly elaborate more on your query. Are you referring to the prepaid plan or the monthly mobile internet pass?

Thank you

Follow the steps given just before your post to cancel the auto-renewal of the RM10 600MB plan, before its expiry.

When that expires, you can subscribe and use the RM30 plan.

edit

u can still change to 3.0 with rm1 charges via red app smile.gif

Query regarding sos top up, recently after my validity expired (validity 10nov - 10dec). I tried and fail performing sos top up on red app on the 11dec (your request is unsuccessful, you are not allowed to use this service) message came up, Also failed on the *100# . Tried restarting the phone also but same result.

As I remember from my previous use of hotlink, using sos top up will deduct 50 cents from my balance and gave me 1 day validity, is it the same still?

PS
1)Is it because I still have rm16 credit that my sos top up is not activated although my validity is over?
2)Also is the sos topup function available during validity, I still can't use mine.

Have any speedtest proof? On same phone please.

P/S: I think it is normal that prepaid speed has been capped a little bit than postpaid.

I dont have speedtest result for both prepaid and postpaid on same phone..

Yeah, thats what i thought for..but since its cheap, capped speed is reasonable..

Hi, how do I check my free weekend 8GB balance in RED App? It doesn't appear in RED App when I select INTERNET BALANCE. The only internet balance I can see is the data plan that I purchased.

Hi GamaX320,

The difference is that customers who activated Hotlink Fast from 8th Dec2016 onwards are entitled for Free calls up to 5 Hotlink Friendz (Maxis/Hotlink numbers only). SMS rates to Hotlink Friendz will be at 1sen/SMS. To those who activated before 8th Dec 2016,there's weekend data & free social chat only.

TQ

You mean those who activate after 8 Dec 2016 do NOT have the free weekend data of 1 gb per sat and Sunday.

Thought the difference was only the free 5 calls and call charges are slightly higher.

Those who activate before 8 Dec can have 10 friends and family to enjoy lower call rates

Hi cfa28,

You are able to enjoy the weekend passes (1GB on Saturday and Sunday respectively). The difference would be the free calls to the 5 friends and lower SMS rate. You may refer to our Hotlink FAST 3.0

Thank you

Noticed that this plan is auto renewal. I did top up before the plan expired.

How do I subscribe to say a lower plan or stop it from auto renew.

Hi, you can cancel the auto renew by dialing *100# > Internet Passes > Cancel Auto Renewal. For other types of internet plan you can refer it here : https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

Hi Hotlink, I'm currently in HYC plan and the only plan that I can upgrade now is Hotlink Fast 3.0

I am not a fan of Friendz. Can I upgrade to Hotlink Fast 2.0 whereby I can use back active 10?

Also, is it share-a-top-up still available for Hotlink Fast?

Hi yao_mou_gao_cho,

The Hotlink Fast has been upgraded and no longer under Hotlink Fast 2.0.

Hi Chrono-Trigger

The Hotlink East Malaysia has it's own perks and is not transferable to other plans. You may purchase the SIM pack for Hotlink Fast other than your state if you wish to use Hotlink Fast, however the number will be a new number.

how come the RM1 for 1G only can last for one week?

if cannot change the validity date, it should be to option to add after the quota is almost finished and not purchase during monthly passes.

Hi, please help in answering some of my questions :

My sim is a Hotlink Super IDD. is there a way to change it to Fast?

Does super idd also have the free 1gb on weekends?

Previously when I top-up like 30+rm, I get a 1gb free data. Last topup I did not receive any, is this already expired?

Last, does the free 4gb youtube can only be refreshed monthly even if you already consumed it before the expiry date?

Thanks.

Hi leongsem,

For the latest RM1 for 1GB promo, it is only applicable if you subscribe for the weekly or monthly internet passes.

For example, instead of subscribe for the RM30 for 2GB pass, you will now have the option to choose for RM31 for 2GB with extra add on 1GB for only additional RM1. The extra 1GB pass is only valid for 1 week wheres the 2GB pass will be valid for a month.

In case if you finished your quota before the end of your monthly pass date, you may opt for quota upgrade 1GB for 3 days @ RM10 or purchase our daily promo pass 1GB/1day only @ RM3.

Last,  does the free 4gb youtube can only be refreshed monthly even if you already consumed it before the expiry date?
Thanks.

Hi Radec,

We are sorry, the #Hotlink Super IDD is an exclusive plan & it cant change to Hotlink Fast
The promo of Free 1GB weekend if you top up RM15 or above in a week is still ongoing.
You may only have 1 Free Youtube Pass at one time, do wait for the current pass expired first before you able to redeem the next one.

TQ

Hi, I've requesting to port in last night but till now, my current telco still active. Normally how long it takes to port in? I've called up my current telco this morning. They put blame on Hotlink on the delay.

Could you please help to speed up the process? Thanks.

Dear Support Team,

For MNP porting from a different telco - will there be a fee charged (new simcard purchase) by the dealer or it is absolutely free to request it on hotlink's website.

It is still 100 days for RM100

the subsequent RM50 and RM10 reload will not adding the validity period because validity period will start from the day you topped up

When you topped up RM50, you validity period is 50 days starting from 20Feb, the system will choose the longest validity period which is the one that end at 29 May.

If you topped up RM50 on 30 April for example, Your validity period now will be 30 April + 50 days. Since 30 April + 50 days has succeeded 29 May, your credit will be valid until 30 April + 50 days

if you want longer validity, yes it is.
People reload because they need'em (SMS/Call/Roaming/Internet) , not to get longer validity period.

If say at end of month, you find that hey 2 GB is enough, you will want to cancel the auto renew cos why pay so much when you don't need it.

What about the Friendz charging block? I know there is a fair usage policy (1000 minutes per month). But, how do I know how many minutes I left and when is the renewal date?

Dear #Hotlink,

I am existing Hotlink user, if I upgrade to Hotlink FAST plan, will my current validity be carry forward as mentioned in Hotlink page? If I have 365 validity in my current plan will it carry forward after I upgraded to Hotlink FAST plan?
For instance, I have 365 validity which expires on 28 Feb 2018, after I upgraded to Hotlink Fast plan, will my validity be the same?

All balance from existing subscription & validity will be carried over.

Hi, validity of your top up remains the same; eg RM30 top up done before change of rate plan will continue with 30 days validity after you change your plan.
However, validity extended via Validity 365 is not applicable.

Hi Bro, I expected a better answer from you honestly after the good work you and #Hotlink is doing here.

I know it's within the acceptable speed limit.

What I am trying to ask and highlight is why the deterioration in speed for past 2 months and how come in Tun Razak, within 3 km from KLCC, the speed is so much slower compared to even Kajang.

In my office, U Mobile is still getting 20 to 25 mbps.

Yes. why not? But the highest quota u can use for Hotlink Fast is 5GB. Else you have to wait weekends (1GB + 1 GB). After you finish the quota, you have to buy seperately.

Only of you are on 4G.

So technically it's 8Gb on weekends plus your standard monthly quota

Hence I love Hotlink fast cos in KV, almost everywhere is covered by 4G

If I topup RM30 will the free 1GB data promo still available?
How long is the expiry date for that 1GB and is there anyway to extend the free 1GB validity?

Wow, i personally find this free 1gb per hour per day from Hotlink is very useful! Even for me who watches youtube a lot, this makes more sense as i can always download the video i wanna watch in youtube utilising the free 1gb quota smile.gif

p/s i wish Hotlink would extend the period of validity from 7am to 9pm tongue.gif

Question 1:
If I check my Hotlink balance with message like this:
"Validity until 10th April 2017"
Does it mean that I have to top up before 12mn 10th April 2017 ie. 9th April 2017?

Question 2:
If I used RM50 to get 5GB+100min 2 days before validity expired on 10th April 2017 ie. 8th April 2017, will the 5GB+100min invalid after after 10th April 2017?

Thank you.

Hi,

Answer 1) Its advisable that you reload latest by 9th April.

Answer 2) Just make sure that you reload and keep your number in active status to utilize the pass you purchased. biggrin.gif

I think it does have but you need a compatible device. 4G+ isn't that necessary though, at least for me since I'm getting over 50Mbps sometimes just on band 7.

@Hotlink

Why can't I just auto connect to 4G immediately instead of getting connected to 3G first and then taking another while to connect to 4G, also I notice after making a call, it takes quite some time before it would reconnect to 4G, which is not really acceptable.

Hi... i'm using maxis prepaid, i think i missed the RM30 payment. Just now I tried making a payment and checked on my maxis number. Suddenly mobile network not available. i tried to make the payment (topup try maybank2u) but it didn't work. Feel so sad. I'm currently studying in the UK and it's hard when you have to make a transaction, and the tac number links to your number. Hope you can help me. Thank you.

for my phone it auto connect to 4G
only switch to 3G when 4G signal is very low or not in coverage

and yes, when you make a call it will auto switch to 2G, after end the call take a few second to switch back to 4G
unless your phone is support VOLTE, then no need to switch to 2G when make a call
but I not sure whether Maxis support VOLTE or not hmm.gif

Hi, I quote the following Q&A from the Hotlink website regarding the happy hour redemption method. I don't seem to see any "claim" button on the homepage of the Red App. Do I need to subscribe a new passes in order to see that function? Thanks.

How do I redeem my Free Happy Hour?

To redeem, log on to Hotlink Red App & click ‘claim’ button on the home page. Alternatively, dial *868. Redemption is open daily from 7am to 7pm

My point is, it does connect to 4G but it doesn't do that immediately, normally it would take at least 1 minute, unlike other telcos which get onto 4G immediately. And for the coverage part, I don't think it's a problem since I can get 50Mbps easily once I get connected to LTE. Lastly for the call part, it takes much more longer to connect back to 4G then other telco.

May I know where you usually use the data? My Hotlink straight away connect to 4g when data is switched on. I stay at Sg Long btw.

Probably the network at your area is not so good or your phone setting didn't set to LTE preferable.

When calling, the network will dropped to 3g for me. But, after about 5-10 sec will go back to 4g. There is no VoLTE from Maxis yet.

actually i find it ok.

if u are at home, u sure are connected to the home Internet, at work Internet, home Internet.

So you can choose to either activate the 1GB during the time u go to work or after work the particular 1 hour period. I find that it is good enough. tongue.gif

So if light user outside, I will only buy the rm30 (2GB) or the rm50 (5GB with 100 mins) bundled.

rm30 (2GB) i just need to pay for the pay per use calls, which i will judge based on my this month usage to tell if I make extra calls a lot or not. so my monthly usage is only rm30 + extra (?)

If yes, rm50 (5GB + 100 minutes) is actually all balance package which unlikely one will need to spend extra unless one will send SMS a lot which it is quite unlikely nowadays.

this is more than enough for me. tongue.gif

it is actually not bad. because i believe most ppl use mobile data outside is on the move, if at home or office there are fixed wifi.

if on the move, seriously one needs to use mobile data to watch youtube, no matter how much data one has also will be insufficient especially nowadays content are all minimally full HD, if watch on mobile devices that has the sim card on, cannot select quality on youtube app also.

to me, i find it no point, unless one really has extra data to spend.

but with the 1gb per hour every day, one can claim it before or after work for that 1 hour to enjoy a youtube video if needed.

Wah so many lines u have? Is it the rm80 unlimited DiGi postpaid plan?

I was on maxis one 98 plan with unlimited SMS and calls also. But I realised that I never even fully utilise them so I switch it to hotlink instead as maxis is still my no 1 Favourite telco.

I still have another legacy Celcom first basic rm38 with 3gn data that can be used also.

so moving forward my monthly usage will be:
Rm30++ for hotlink
Rm38 for Celcom first basic 38

that's only rm68++ which it is very good for me. Two different telcos for redundancy also.

Rm30++ for hotlink
Rm38 for Celcom first basic 38

that's only rm68++ which it is very good for me. Two different telcos for redundancy also.

Currently Maxis has the promotion of changing 3G Sim card to 4G Sim card. I want to know, if changing this sim card, will it change my plan?

Currently I'm using Maxis Hotlink Bagus WM, I just want to change Sim Card but don't want to change plan...

This one? The promo is still going on now.

Wah that's really a lot of variety of services u have.

for me, I started with DiGi prepaid, u mobile, Celcom and maxis.

I had bad experience with DiGi prepaid previously, which there is recurring unknown SMS content. That's why after that I switched to postpaid.

U mobile problem I encountered is the coverage and data speed.

After switch to Celcom and maxis. Overall are ok. Except that Celcom is very bad in their first gold 80, they added the rm38 international roaming thingy, which I Kena rm3xx of data roaming charge while I was in lion city. But I need to receive SMS/calls in overseas. That's why I switch to maxis so far ok.

But maxis is expensive at starting plan rm98. Bundled data are good. But underuse for me. Feel a bit wasted.

Now switched to hotlink. Feel very happy, can remain on maxis and again can enjoy low cost per mth as low as just merely rm30+. Plus no GST needed for prepaid also. tongue.gif

The SIM card is not 4G? then u are not enjoying 4G speed now? Kind of wasted rite?

Guess if change SIM card no need to switch plan. U should check with them and switch to 4g to take advantage of 4g.

digi so far ok for me, gam gam my factory area digi & celcom signal is good while weak for maxis.

but at home, celcom and maxis ( my wife line) is ok but not got digi.

umobile at home still can receive call, at home i will use wifi already so internet not a big issue for me. just if ppl call to my digi line i need to talk near the windows laugh.gif

internet speed, digi so far ok at my area, not the fastest it load but at least it will load. unlike celcom, recently whatsapp also cant even send out . facebook page will just refresh half way.

umobile .... dono why, mayb is the smallest among the top 4, and mayb also due to just monthly rm28.. i not put so high hope on it. mos of the time i use it for waze ( somestimes the refresh of direction not so fast althought i already turn ( not sure you have this issue or not at maxis). page overall still can load , just at night a bit slow if i am outside. so i will use digi when i outside.

yes, maxis should be the best among the 4 telco. as i hardly see my wife complaint signal issue. she also prefer to maintain at maxis since she willing to pay for the premium fees.

i see. thanks for sharing.

so my conclusion after my usage with all telcos are also similar.

to me,
Maxis>Celcom>DiGi>U Mobile

Maxis is still my favourite in any case. Celcom I am ok with it (not bad so far, except the rm38 data roaming charge incident).
I am glad that I can pay low with Maxis as my main line still and compliment with Celcom.

Did you encounter the rm38 charge before for data while you are in overseas roaming?
now they give half data roaming for only SMS/Voice for international roaming by default to customer that does not have data access which to me customer, it is a better thing.

Hi KidMeNot,

Change of SIM card does not affect anything. The only difference you will notice is the signal. The number & plan remains as it is.

no more free 4gb for you tube

No more extra 1gb for 7 days for additional rm1

No more bonus 1gb for 3 days for using Red App

But if Hotlink cut the free 1gb on Sat and Sun, I will then cancel my Hotlink and port to somewhere else..... Perhaps Digi or Celcom

I've done it already. The loss of the 4GB youtube promotion was the last straw for me. 2 hotlink lines, 1 postpaid line - moved to Redone postpaid.

It runs on Celcom's network. 4G Speed is somewhat slower than Maxis but it fits my needs and budget. The network coverage seems to be about the same - I have another company phone with 20GB Maxis One Plan so it's easy to compare. I'm located in Penang so the situation may be different in other places.

So far so good. RM8 for 1GB, RM28 for 5GB and RM48 for 10GB (+200mins).

that's a good news, it means exiting maxis customers can enjoy better speed with lesser subscribers. tongue.gif

or even better deal from maxis.

I am now using hotlink free 8gb 4g data for weekend. (No purchase of internet passes needed, just top up to keep active) and Celcom first basic 38 data for weekday.

so far so good. tongue.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

maxis is still my no 1 telco.

I like maxis too as they have good coverage and data speeds, but a few too many bad experiences have pushed me to try other telcos:

1. termination of the Spotify premium bundle
2. refusal to refund me for some stupid value added SMS bullsh1t
3. sudden replacement of the 4GB youtube quota (*868#) with the stupid happy hour crap

I still have a maxis line (company) but am happy to have a different telco line as personal backup.

1. I dun use sportify as I have all my favourites in MP3.
2. Lucky I have not kena any Third party SMS charge yet. Last time when I was on DiGi prepaid I kena also. Seems like prepaid is very easily kena the unknown SMS charge. So I will try to keep my credit balance in my account to the lowest possible to avoid such charge.
3. This one no impact to me because I do not think it is a good choice to watch YouTube on the move especially given maxis such superb 4G network. One bad thing is also for YouTube app it does not allow the selection of quality if it is on 4G. If I really need to do so, I will tether instead and watch it on my another device so I can choose quality. but I like the free 1gb/daily for 1hour. It is good for me to activate it when I leave my house for work and on the way back home. Each way is less than 1 hour time that requires data. Other time I can either use office or home Internet. So I can activate for either way when I am on the go. More than sufficient. At least this 1gb free data can be used for everything not only YouTube. Again I will not use mobile data for YouTube. Not worth it. Might as well watch it at home with unlimited unifi.

Yup good to have both the two best telcos maxis and Celcom. So no matter where one goes in bolehland, it is for sure covered 100%.

Given the 4G speed especially for maxis, no matter how much data also will not be enough because it is way too fast.

unless u subscribe to webe or DiGi unlimited data plan then only u can enjoy YouTube etc.

Facebook does not really take up so much data actually unless u watch those videos inside Facebook.

For Hotlink Fast, I just got to know that the 1GB/hour per day is not free. We need to purchase the internet pass to enjoy this "free" 1GB/hour per day thing. Got caught there.

What about this FREE 2GB for every weekend? Is it the same in that we need to buy the internet pass to enjoy this free service?

Yeah, thanks man. Just called Hotlink and was told the same thing. It's not only with the 2GB weekends (Saturday and Sunday) but also 1 GB (everyday Monday to Friday). It's NOT FREE as it's under Happy Hour, and we have to pay for weekly or monthly internet pass for the Happy Hour!!

Lain kata, we have to pay minimum RM10 for weekly or RM30 for monthly for the internet pass in order to claim for the free 2GB(weekend) or 1 GB (everyday). If we have to pay for the Happy Hour internet pass, then it is not free already. I thought it is free without having to pay for the internet pass.

One big reason why missus and I got fed up with Hotlink. We were happy with the Spotify premium bundle, then that got taken away. Happy after that with 4GB free youtube, then that got taken away too.

This daily happy hour stuff was just too much hassle for us.

In the end we decided to move to another Telco and signed up postpaid plans - RM48 for 10GB high speed data + 200 mins of local calls plus free calls within the same network.

this FREE 2GB every weekend is valid as long as your Hotlink FAST account is active, ie. you can make calls from this account.
BUT if your account is made active either thru share a top up or ask a top up, then you don't get this free 2GB.
put it simply, you want the free 2GB, keep the account active by spending own money n not get from another account.

btw, as long as your FAST line is active (by spending own money or thru share/ask a top up), you get the free calls to Maxis friendz registered in your account.

imo, this is a good deal just to enjoy the free 1000 minutes (16 hours) per month to Friendz.
i then share a top up to keep account active n still get the free calls. but no free 2GB.

I was on Maxis postpaid, then moved to Hotlink to reduce my monthly commitments since I have 4 lines

Then jumped to Xpax to test Celcom's network (it was good enough, coverage same same, 4G slower but acceptable) and finally settled with RedOne postpaid. icon_idea.gif

I thought only hotlink fast plan got 8gb weekend pass. Free 100 min still there for other hotlink 5gb and 8gb plan.

I'm still using Hotlink em/ec and the new hotlink fast em/ec is not that attractive for me.

Assuming not paying for any data plan

Hotlink em/ec: topup rm30 get
- 150gb/15 days late night data and 150gb/15 days fb data.

Hotlink fast em/ec: topup rm30 get
- 1gb reset each day late night data for 30 days = 30gb/mth
- 1gb reset each on sat and sun = 8gb/mth

Yup, only for hotlink em/ec aka hotlink in kelantan/terengganu/sabah/sarawak.

It's 150gb late night 1am to 7am for 15 days and
150gb facebook for 15 days.

This one is for rm10 topup. 50gb for 5 days.

Hi, I'm on hotlink fast 3.0 and has bought rm50 big plan which includes 100 minutes free calls to all telcos. Just now I tried calling maybank customer service 1-300-xxxxxx but I was being charged. Please clarify.

It has never been mentioned clearly on the hotlink website and also not stated in the terms and conditions. It's very bad for maxis to carry out such malicious practices. I demand hotlink to refund my credit.

Hi szaku89 ,

Please do be informed for Maxis One Plan users, calls to fixed lines, video calls, calls to numbers with special charges e.g. 1-300/1-700/600 & 121, TM100, 1MOCC, 02-prefix numbers for IDD calls to Singapore and 080-prefix numbers for border calls to Brunei) are chargeable, for prepaid service, 1300 is also chargeable.

Thank you for your prompt response. Please take note that I had go through the entire Terms n Conditions for Hotlink Fast 3.0 and what you mentioned at the above are not stated in the clause. It is very malicious for you to do such a thing. Is it equivalent to duping customers? Or can you state which line in the Terms n Conditions stated clearly those numbers will be charged? Hotlink has marketed heavily that with Rm50 big plan customers will get 100 free minutes. I demand an apology from Hotlink and also for you all to please make it clear on what is free and what is not!

Don't play a fool with me I would make it big on the social media.

There is no mention of it at all. Thank you for the reminder Maxis. Good job for your marketing team to not clearly stating what the 100 free minutes are for. This shows the kind of attitude you all have. Thank you.

Do I get to enjoy the weekend 2GB free data if my phone doesn't have 4G? I mean the phone is an old phone with 3G only but I'm in area with 4G coverage.

Please don't give copy and paste answer from the website as it doesn't answer my question

Hi Msnine,,

No, you will see the data allocated but you won't be able to use it if its under other signals.
Please ensure the signal is under 4G to enjoy the weekend pass.

Hi jamal75,

1. You will need to ensure that Android version or iOS version is up to date (without rooted) to sync & correlate with our latest version Red App.
2. Once you have upgrade to Hotlink FAST, you are not able to revert back to your origin plan.
3. You may check if your SIM card support 4G via *100# > MyAccount & Others > My Account Information > Is your SIM a 4G SIM?

Thank you

Yes. Can. If both parties are using iPhone and send iMessage.
iMessage can work on wifi.

If you have wifi, you can send messages via Whatsapp.

For new MNP port in, it will normally take 2-3 working days for the bank to reset their telco profile.
Alternatively, you may contact the bank & request for the telco profile update to expedite on this.

Want to ask Hotlink reps, If I open another Hotlink prepaid account and transfer my balance from old prepaid  account  to new prepaid account, do I need to finish using my balance in the new account within 7 days?

Hi Ngto,

Basically, you are having 1 existing prepaid number and in hope to transfer the amount to your new prepaid number, you can do it via share a topup

Thank you

Hi Hotlink,

I am currently on overseas roaming in Australia and wish to activate direct billing on google play. Can I do it while overseas or I have to be back in Malaysia to do it? Tq.

lol, I know how to use Share a Topup.

My question again :-

"Want to ask Hotlink reps, If I open another Hotlink prepaid account and transfer my balance from old prepaid account to new prepaid account, do I need to finish using my balance in the new account within 7 days?"

Because someone told me I need to finish using the amt within 7 days, which I don't think is right.

No need to finish the credit in 7 days.
I used to transfer RM100 to another Hotlink number and leave it there to use until it goes low.
That will take a few months.

Hi Maxis/Hotlink representatives,

I happen to stumble upon hotlink site and the prepaid plans are not as detailed as it seems. Monthly RM45 and RM35 calls are not unlimited? What about sms? Care to share the details?

Hi,

You can leave balance of RM1 to keep the service active and make sure your service is active throughout the process of port out which will take 48 hours. If you have excess credit, you can share the amount to other Hotlink users by dialing *100# > Top Up > Share A Top Up.

i have a question, if i do not subscribe to any internet plan/package.
if i forgot to turn on my wifi and i watch a video or surf net, will it consume my topup credit?

thanks
*
Hi,

It will be depending on the package you are currently subscribing. For certain packages, mobile internet usages will be charged as pay per use and certain packages will allow you to continue to use the data at throttled speed. If you wish us to check on your account, please DM us your full name, IC number, your rateplan and last payment/top up method.

Any idea on data roaming charges? i checked the hotlink website and saw there are few options
1) RM 10 for 1gb
2) RM 10/20 for unlimited social pass with 50mb/200mb data
3) RM 38 per day with 500mb data

so which is valid? and how to subscribe.

Bro, you got to top up RM60 in 1 go. Not Rm30 for 2 times. The Hotlink validity works like this:

-each top up amount will gives you its individual validity. And the validity of each top up is counted on the day of your top up.
-if the new top up validity > current validity, your new validity will be based on the new top up validity.
- if the new top up validity <= current validity, your validity won't change.

HI fkinmeng,

Please be inform that the validity period is non stackable.
If you wish to get 60 days active period, kindly top up RM60 in a single transaction once your number is inactive.

If you top up RM10 X 6 times on the same day for example, you will only get 10 days active period.

Hi,

For now, you will not be able to manage multiple Hotlink numbers under 1 HotlinkRed app.
You would need to insert the SIM card u want to check on, in the hp > log in to HotlinkRed app.

Rest assured, we are working towards a better experience on this.

Thank you

1. You can convert to MaxisOne plan, and the hotlink credits will offset the monthly fee.

2. You can sell the credits in garage sales forum. There would be buyers there.

3. Alternatively, you can subscribe to hotlink redpass RM60 - unlimited calls to all telcos and 8 gig data, this way the credit can finish fast.

4. Get a hotlink yourself, then transfer the credit from your parents number to your number, then you spend the credits.

5. If you have Steam account, spend the hotlink credits there too.

If I am not mistaken, maximum amount of prepaid credit is RM1000. (please ask Maxis to confirm yea).

In your case, RM400 will be debited into your MaxisOne postpaid bill.

It will be reflected as -RM400 in your bill. So for example your first bill from maxis is RM150 (stamp duty + first month + any prorated bill + GST), your final amount will be -RM250. So no need to pay anything until your credit finishes.

This is how it was done years ago la, you can ask Maxis to confirm whether it's still like this. That's why your Hotlink credit is never wasted, just accumulate it and convert to postpaid in future.

Maxis also wants hotlink customers to convert to higher postpaid plan, and this serves as an incentive smile.gif
