Hi everyone , currently I'm using cimb cash rebate master card, my credit limit is 6000

Cimb bank offer me a petronas platinum master card now, and the combined limit is 6000.
To get 7% cash rebate, I should spend with statement balance of rm3000 and above, FYI I am having 0% installment with telco company and my credit limit is less than 2k now.

My question is, should I activate this card or cancel the card? Since they offer me a card without giving me extra credit limit, and I can't enjoy the privileges and benefits of the card, what should I do? Because every year I got to pay the government tax rm50 for the new card right?

If I don't want the card, I need to call to bank and cancel? Or just ignore the card?

If you don't want, just call and cancel. No point keeping an unused card.

No more government service tax after GST kicked in last year.

did anyone got financial charge on their card because paying the amount after cash rebate deducted?

I normally clear my balance to Zero after cash rebate at month end but still getting charged every month.

Message from CIMB:
Good Day!

Thank you for your secure message.

Please be informed that we have waived the finance charges. The reversal will be posted on the next statement. We suggest that you do not deduct the cash rebate on your own before making payment. Kindly make the payment as per statement balance.

Thank you for banking with CIMB Bank.
