Ok, please find partial screen shot of my CIMB Petronas card statement (pretty embarrassing since the usage is not that much)

If you look at the screen shot
The first 2 lines

Previous balance was RM96.35 hence 3% CB gave me RM2.89

However for this month there were 2 usages on Nov 29th and Dec 6th of RM34.85 and RM56.55 respectively.  So in total the usage was RM91.40.  So 3% CB for RM91.40 should be RM2.74, but based on the current CB calculated I just got RM1.83 equivalent to total usage of RM61.00 instead of RM91.40.

Can anyone assist? Has anyone experienced this before? I reported this to CIMB on 23rd Dec, until now no update. I guess they are figuring out the calculation themselves doh.gif

Statement balance amount, the one without cash rebate. Other banks allow you to deduct the cash back before payment but it seems CIMB doesn't allow and will impose penalty to cardholders. There were a few forummers shared abouf this earlier.

not sure got rebate or not. i got no other card to pay IWK anyways, no harm trying. else, i'd just ust M2U CASA to pay IWK.

CIMB cashback card is the lousiest card ever I have been using so far..
They call me up to sign up the credit PLUS shield, which I find it not bad since I have signed it with other credit card company as well..

But this CIMB is too cunning.. They purposely charged it on 28th of every month..

This is fine with me.. I clear my statement bill on every 27 to avoid the credit charges.. Thats fine.. But whenever I do transaction on 25, 26, 27 or even 28, it will suddenly squeeze in to fit into 28th and with extra credit charges which make me really find it a scam..

All other credit card I always pay fully on 1st to 5th of every month without any extra charges, only this cunning CIMB using such trick to make customer to pay extra charges.. What lar CIMB..

All this Credit plus shield thingy, I honestly find it crap.

If you are not happy with it, just cancel it? Not a big deal plus you don't have to cough up the few dollars.

I suppose the statement date is 28th of every month? Then, you are responsible to clear up your statement balance up till 28th within the 20 days interest free period.

highlighted blue: this is normal, they charge on statement date, which is 28th. similar to BT also, it get charged on statement date. what's wrong with that? since you already agreed to sign up that credit Plus shield, it's your right to understand the T&Cs of it, including when it get charged, etc etc, right?

highlighted red: what do you mean by "squeeze in to fit into 28th" for your transactions on 25, 26, 27, or 28? isnt that how it works on statement billing? since the statement cutoff is 28th, any transctions posted on last 29th until current 28th will all be "billed/charged" to your current 28th statement. there's nothing to squeeze. this is like a postpaid billing, "use first, pay later".

the problem i see is you're not used to CIMB's statement on 28th, whereas your other cards is on early of the month.

But I'm not okay that I once paid the full balance on 28.. and also made a transaction on 28 the same day..

It usually took more than 3 to 5 days for that to be posted.. But why it have to be always on the 28th..

I have been using CITI, HLB, Maybank none are doing so..

Maybe u are right, im not used with the 28th statement.. I dun even have plan to keep this card anyway.. Just merely to express my experience with CIMB credit card which as a customer I dun find it I have a good experience with them..

Thanks for the feedback though.. biggrin.gif

i always pay statement amount AFTER statement date, just so that i dont screw up the amount to be paid smile.gif

furthremore, i always utlize the 20days grace period (after statement date), so the amount i need to IBG/IBFT will never be wrong (unless i got weird fingers hitting extra/less digit laugh.gif )

cheers!

Yea.. I always do that for other credit card..

But what they charged are the credit plus shield lolx.. Im trying to avoid getting the charges though which occurs on 28th of every month, they do not have a buffer/grace period like given extra one day..

I signed up this credit shield for other card, but I nvr even once getting charged for that bcos I always remember to pay on 1st or 2nd of every month..

This is the reason why I am saying I have a very bad experience with the bank itself.. Hahaha.. But its purely my own opinion.. Others might are enjoying paying the credit shield charges happily.. I dunno..

Cheers biggrin.gif

I'm not sure about you guys but I'm pretty happy with CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard.

It has been my most active card after I cut my MBB2 AMEX and my MBB Ikhwan Mastercard is only active on Fridays and Saturdays. Of course in my wallet, I still got UOB ONE Classic and Citibank Cash Back Platinum.

1. 28th of each month is the cut-off date for CIMB CR Credit Card.
2. Generating the statement of account is time consuming (Usually 4 to 5 working days)

CIMB takes time to generate and send the PDF version of the statement/bill to your email address.

They're not as efficient as UOB. I have to give credit to UOB for this! thumbup.gif
