QUOTE(techmania @ Jan 13 2016, 11:36 PM) I was told bank charged them 2%-3% for using the cc terminal, if the item they sell very minimal margin and don't charge the 2% back to customer they'll lose money. I don't know it's true or not. some merchant more ridiculous .. they charge customer like 6% telling them it's GST .. damn la this kind of shop

I am sure you'll get an answer from BNM. Heck, even customs would be interested to hear about it. This post has been edited by chiahau: Jan 14 2016, 08:20 AM

If the price already includes GST, another 6% would means that they are double collecting? My case was they charged the extra 2% into the CC, but the tax invoice's different.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 13 2016, 11:03 PM) Now only I know if transactions below RM 250 do not require PIN, not sure if it's applicable to all cards or just CIMB. Hopefully can activate PIN for all amounts. it's contactless transactions below RM250 seems like a new standard - Wifi will be introduce to replace visa paywave, mastercard paypass or whatever they call it

QUOTE(chiahau @ Jan 14 2016, 07:48 AM) Depends on terminal rental agreement. And honestly, most shop's margin is roughly 10~20% if not they won't be selling Don't care whether they lose money or not, I don't see this practice being done in countries like HK, US and UK. What you see is what you pay. No such BS as need to cough up extra. So how's the respond from the authorities?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 15 2016, 04:15 PM) Anymore interesting cards from OCBC these days that worth FD pledge? Well, for GE policyholder, the OCBC GE card is quite good especially when you combine it with the OCBC 360 Account.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 1 2016, 02:27 AM) Why don't you try to send via email? http://www.icbc.com.cn/ICBC/%e5%b9%bf%e5%9...6%92%ad_690_300I just noticed it is giving free 2 years AF + RM 50 gift voucher if apply before 31st Jan, I think I can apply one as well. Edit: I just submitted mine through its online banking since I already have an existing account. Easy peasy. Too bad I don't have 100k p.a. yet, so cannot apply for its Plat to enjoy PPL. I applied for ICBC UnionPay Dual Currency Credit Card Gold Card. Let's see if my application will be approved. My first Union Pay credit card. Ms. Fruitie gotten your PayUnion card already? How was it? Was it widely accepted in Malaysia?

QUOTE(cCyyCc @ Jan 16 2016, 06:26 PM) Ms. Fruitie gotten your PayUnion card already? How was it? Was it widely accepted in Malaysia? It's UnionPay. Not yet, still in processing. Hmm, I only plan to use it in China because I can pay in RMB using my ICBC savings account as it has RM and RMB. Most of the malls in Malaysia accept but I still prefer to use other non UnionPay cards.
