Accidents could always happen to any aircrafts & helicopters regardless who the makers are.

A brand new Airbus A400M for Turkey crashed while on a test flight killing all it's Airbus crew. That doesn't mean the Europeans are unreliable.

Even an PAK-FA caught fire that doesn't mean the Russian are unreliable.

In just one month 2 US Army Apache crashed killing 2 of it's crew that doesn't mean the Americans are unreliable.

The KAI & Lockheed T50 is in the competition for the USAF T-X program to replace the T-38 Talon.

Agree...US lost a lot of air assets this year...in November alone..an Apache in SoKor and a Blackhawk...followed with the more recent one in Fort Campbell

The biggest Russian lost this year was probably the upgraded Tu-95MS

Who will be the panel in the investigation? If I understand Indonesian, they can be quite narcissistic sometimes and will not admit their pilot mistake.

well i think it's completely from pilot error due to insufficient altitude to complete the maneuver.

Fast and Accurate: Best-Kept Secrets of Russia’s 'Sniper' Howitzer

user posted image

QUOTE
Even though information about the Koalitsiya’s exact rate of fire remains under wraps, Russian experts say that it is higher than that of any of its foreign analogues.

This includes Germany’s PsH 2000, which fires 10 rounds a minute, China’s PLZ-05 with its eight rounds per minute capability and, of course, Britain’s Brave Hart, which can fire maximum six times per minute, Zvezda TV reported on Sunday.
QUOTE
The Koalitsiya owes its record rate of fire largely to a unique barrel-cooling system developed by the Burevestnic research institute in Moscow.

Even though the Koalitsiya-SV resembles the older 2S19 Msta-S, it is a totally different system. It has an unmanned turret and is armed with a 152-mm gun. It also has a fully automated ammunition loading and handling system utilizing a modular charge mechanism.

QUOTE
This artillery system can fire a wide range of munitions, including standard and rocket-assisted HE-FRAG projectiles, cluster projectiles with anti-tank submunitions and jammer-carrying shells.

Some amateures video of the accident shows that while performing a loop maneuver at descending it seems the engine shuts down (no audible sounds of the engine) and plane went spiraling down. Seconds from impact there was a sounds of the engine starting up but it was too late. Looks like the pilots was trying hard to restart the engine while trying to avoid residential areas and saving the plane. Witnesses also confirmed of the lost of engine sounds while the plane performed a loop maneuver.

Will have to wait for the official investigation report.

With a new aircraft it could be anything. Past errors include pilot tertekan wrong switch, because in the new model its on the left side not the right side, pilot terlupa stall angle, terlupa climb rate, etc.

On the technical side, maintenance crews unfamiliar with the aircraft, terlupa buka dono what, maintain it improperly, left something open/shut, this thing jam that thing blocked.... with the new glass cockpits and fly by wire, electronic faults and system error or refresh or blue screen...

Apalagi during acrobatic manoeuvre. Really no point in pointing fingers in such a case.

T-90 tanks help propel Hezbollah and the Syrian Army in Southern Aleppo

user posted image

Over the last 2 months in the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah have attempted to capture the strategic town of Khan Touman from the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group).

On Sunday morning; this long battle for Khan Touman finally came to an end after the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – imposed full control over the town and its surrounding farms.

Prior to capturing the town of Khan Touman, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies seized the imperative village of Al-Qarassi following a series of intense firefights with the Islamist rebels of Faylaq Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Nusra, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki.

The capture of this aforementioned village paved the way for the pro-government forces to strike Khan Touman’s eastern perimeter and ultimately impose full control over it two hours later.

In addition to the capture of Al-Qarassi and Khan Touman, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies seized the small hilltop village of Tal Al-‘Amarrah, which is located directly west of Khan Touman.

The Syrian Arab Army’s use of the Russian manufactured T-90 tank played an integral role during this battle, as its protective armor and durability made it difficult for the enemy combatants to halt their advance.
