QUOTE(Tally33 @ Aug 23 2016, 01:49 PM) Hi, Im going to Tokyo and Hokkaido this end of November 25/11-3/12. My itinerary is fly to Obihiro airport > Furano > Biei > Asahikawa > Sounkyo > Daizetsusan > Asahikawa > Sapporo > Otaru > Niseko > Lake Toya > Sapporo > Back to Tokyo. I was wondering how is the snow condition will be like? is it advisable to drive around Hokkaido? Im considering either rent a car or buy JR hokkaido pass. Check @yaniee on the car rental. She's renting I think. This post has been edited by imran85: Aug 23 2016, 02:41 PM

QUOTE(yaniee @ Aug 19 2016, 10:46 AM) its free pocket wifi. both car and pocket wifi collect at airport. just free hokkaido express pass plan. if u want etc card u need to pay more we plan to use routes without tol. that is the cheapest rate i compared among all. straight away i booked. Lol, when was it ? My booking total charge not include ETC+HEP. Only basic charge + basic insurance. If want ETC+HEP, need to pay additional charge. No wifi pocket stated in the booking information as well. :-( i check through Nippon-rent-a-car, the quote almost the same as honda (ETC+HEP ), just toyota-rent-a-car additional 3000yen more than both company.

If no better dont. Better youtube how to put chain on tyre skill. You will needed it. November snow still not that scary but still very slippery. If newbie level can be very challenging also. Day light are very short. 4pm already sunset. Plus snow driving only allow 60km/h at highway and 40km/h at normal road. Need plan longer time put in travel journey.

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Aug 23 2016, 07:53 PM) which location is best for couple? Honestly ... it doesn't really matter that much. I stay in ikebukuro, minato (near tsukiji), misakicho (near tokyo dome) and shinjuku before, and in none of those locations did I ever think "oh man I wish I stayed somewhere else." Having said that ... I guess any of the major areas around the yamanote line will be good (ikebukuro, shinjuku, shibuya, ueno, etc) since you can hit a lot of the major attractions using this line.
