This Mate 8 has the best battery life amongst all the Androids I had used. It is even better than Mate 7. On my usage , average 9-10 hours SOT is common.
My usage on mainly LTE, 80% internet based stuffs ( browse, facebook, mail, tweeter, newsfeed, whatsapp), youtubes, some audio and video files but with no gaming
Its battery capacity is only 23-33% bigger than my other Nexus 6P, V10 but its battery usage is close to double them. Best of all the phone remains cool even under continuous intensive usage up to 2+ hours

Yea true, after a few days of using the phone, its battery is really good . Note 5 battery is no where as good as Mate8.

I use Mate 8 more than my Note 5 yet the Note 5 battery goes down like nobodys business.

And yes, the phone doesnt become warm unlike the N5.

Samsung has never been good at battery life technology.
My previous S3 and current S6 suffers from terrible battery life. sad.gif
I think this year i will go for Xiaomi Mi5 or HTC M10

Placed and order for a Mate 8 + a Nilkin case on 11th March from Gemfive
Gemfive website stated that the product will be sent out by 14th March
Received Nilkin casing on 15th but no words about the arrival of the Mate 8
Make a phone call to Gemfive customer service (03-27141700) on the 15th and was told that will be informed once they receive any news from the merchant
No calls or emails from Gemfive thereafter
Call Gemfive customer service again this morning and was told the exact same thing again by the same guy with creepy sound (like he got some super nasty insomnia and never slept for 500 years)
sigh....

Anyone here using the Standard 32GB variant?

How much storage did you get out of the box, is it sufficient enough?

Get my phone yesterday. Need to change smaller sim card before fully utilizy it. Very impressed with screen quality and no regret. Smoothness, build, fingerprint are good.

Slightly uncomfortable with its interface but that might be fine. Key pad is weird and im figuring how to cancel off auto-suggest words.

Camera, good cos is big upgrade for me. But I wont notice tiny difference like pro did.

Charging is good, about 2 hour from 20% to 99%.

That means it will take like 2+ hours to charge from 0% to 100%? Kinda slow. hmm.gif

Are you using the fast charger?

My Mate 7 has only 16Gb and I have no problems at all with about 4Gb left.

As for Mate 8, I am using the 32Gb variant, which in my opinion is large enough if you use a SDHC for data & downloading videos & songs. So don't worry, go and buy the variant that suits your needs or budget.

ps: I don't play games and so 3Gb RAM is OK for me.
