So tempted to get one after I tried the demo in Huawei KLCC. I'm not tried much, how's the battery life? And is it burning up when you play a game or browsing a lot on 3G/4G?

QUOTE(Gouki @ Mar 16 2016, 07:16 PM) uncle benny, is ur mate8 rooted after unlocked? i just wanna know if the OTA still works after rooted? If your phone is rooted most probably you had TWRP installedPhone can detect OTA but unable to install You need to replace TWRP with stock recovery first From the update.app use the free software HuaweiUpdateExtractor to get the stock recovery.img Than boot phone into fastboot mode and issue : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img Restart phone and download the OTA |

Batt 100% from 8am, now 53% heavy usage on whatsapp, moderate calls, browsing & Facebook . If note 5, I may need to charge the fone now.As for camera , may be am not particular but still is not bad as what others complained. The finger print feature is fast but I wish it comes with tap to wake. |

QUOTE(nobody#2 @ Mar 16 2016, 08:25 PM) from Note 3 to Mate 8 That's great though. I wonder why Nexus 6P can't be this great. Maybe no battery saver from Huawei itself?- i'm heavy on data connection, wifi, lots of whatapp/wechat/email and video - noticeable faster system respond based on same add on apps (no game, all is for my working purposes) - same time unplug charger(around 7am), note 3 till 4pm or less, mate 8 till 8pm Thank you for the info QUOTE(bearbearhong @ Mar 16 2016, 08:35 PM) From note 5, in terms of device temp, I have not feel it on mate 8 after usage of one full day. Tap to wake like Nexus 6P eh? I thought they implement to their latest phone. As for camera , may be am not particular but still is not bad as what others complained. The finger print feature is fast but I wish it comes with tap to wake. Overall is a wow factor for what I can see to this device. Before I test the demo I thought it is the same as Huawei P8, even the demo is overheating. Boy I was wrong. Unlucky for me I missed the chance for the first 88 to get the free Talkband |

Because Nexus 6P is using Snapdragon 810, it's not as power efficient as the Kirin 950 on the Mate 8.Thank you for the info The Mate 8 would've been a godphone if it had Mali T880 MP12 GPU instead of the weaker MP4 GPU. |

How does it compare between Kirin and Exynos? |
