Hi, congratulations on your new job. I wanna ask whether you joined EY's audit associate as a fresh graduate (with no prior experience) or experienced hire. Could u also share what questions were asked during the interview process?

Thank you in advance. I am hesitant to apply for EY because I was recently rejected by other 2 Big 4 firms (one main reason is that I have no prior experience or internship as compared to other candidates, although I have completed my degree and ACCA papers)  cry.gif

Job search has been harsh, especially during this pandemic.. I'm even thinking to apply for internship first just to gain experience first.

Don't worry if you are rejected by other Big 4. I was rejected by some big 4 and those mid firms didn't even bother to reply me lol.

I join EY as a fresh grad. For interview questions, you can do some research from glassdoor. Phone interview is quite simple, they just ask you about your major, experience and co-curricular.

After that you will take online assessment. And finally will be written assessment and virtual interview. For virtual interview, just those normal interview questions like strength and weaknesses, why audit. No technical questions as you are a fresh grad.

Good luck!

THATS GREAT!! I accepted it too thinking it’s quite a fair period to decide whether audit is suitable for me or not. Hope to see you in EY biggrin.gif have you done your virtual interview?

Lets just say that - dont join audit for the sake of just getting a job. When people are saying that they work until 3am, that is not even exaggerating. It is just how the life in audit is. Make sure u're able to take it, and know what u're signing up for. This is no joke as i have seen alot of freshies coming in not knowing what they're getting themselves into, and having attitude problems.... a waste of everybody's time. The learning curve is very steep, and the long working hours - make sure u can handle this.

Yea, i’m very aware of the working hours also but would like to try out to see whether i’m fit for audit or not for these 6 months, which I think is quite a fair period (hope so) sad.gif For the 3am part, does it applies to peak period only or all the time?

Does pwc Industry Xplorer equals to external auditing? Because the jobscope stayed doesn’t seem to be like what external audit associate does

It can be for peak, it can be for non peak. Depends on ur luck what kind of clients or engagements u are assigned to. It's not unusual if u hah to constantly work late or eztra hours. It's just industry problem that nobody has a solution for.....

Hi i recently made this account to ask about PWC’s Industry Xplorer programme. I’m an ACCA fresh graduate from Sunway College and was wondering whether the salary in Industry Xplorer programme and normal audit associate position is the same or lower? Thank you in advance for the replies guys

Its the same.

The program is basically letting associates to experience diff industries before deciding on one.

Just an update.. I get a tax position in deloitte..meanwhile pwc call me for audit interview after I accept the offer from Deloitte. Deloitte tax interview focus a lot on technical question.. be prepared wif tax knowledge before u go interview ...
initially having a dilemma in choosing audit or tax .. since everyone said the same.. better u start in audit .. but I am not sure I can constantly keep my motivation in this field for the long working hour...had internship before in one of the big 4 and it’s true that u nid to work long long hour for audit..

Applied to all big 4, rejected by all, in a small audit firm now 😭😭. I think it's pretty normal for them to reject given that they have many applicants, and they are pretty much the at the top of the field. Good luck
