Hi, currently I'm a Year 3 student, major in Accounting & Finance. I will finish my whole course in May and I would like to start my internship in June. My programme is ARU collaborating with Help College and I have exemptions for 9 ACCA papers. I'm planning to do ACCA papers after my internship. I have a few questions:
1. Is there a specific period/month/season that big 4 will open for internship? I saw EY's summer internship programme before but I can't find it on the EY Malaysia website. Btw, I wish to join any big 4 except KPMG due to location issue.
2. When is the deadline of big 4's internship application? Because I don't think I can get my academic transcript in May/June.
3. I'm not active in college's co-curricular activities and I'm only active in co-curricular activities during high school. Will this affect my application for internship/full-time position? Btw, I have working experience as an accounts assistant. Does this past experience help me in my application for internship?
4. My programme does not count CGPA actually as it is a UK Degree. We only count CGPA using the college's guidance when comes to application for tuition waivers. So I wanna ask, if some of the subjects I score quite bad (i.e. 48, 61, 70), will this affect my application for internship as well? I swear my other marks are above 80!
5. What kind of interview will big 4 have? Face-to-face interview or phone interview? Once, I applied for the KPMG scholarship and I received a phone interview suddenly and I failed the interview (I didn't get the scholarship). Oh yeah, will there be written assessment/online assessment to become an intern in big 4?
Sorry for asking so many dumb questions. Thanks for your patience and I hope somebody could answer my questions to give me clearer direction in my career pathway. Thanks again.

QUOTE(kejun @ Jan 25 2020, 06:21 AM) 1. For PwC, yes they have specific period. 2. There is no specific deadline for the application, they will stop recruitment when the vacancy for interns is full. 3. Sorry to say that it does. Eventhough you have working experience but it will not be helpful when you apply for internship. But for permanent, it may be helpful. 4. Better get your CGPA from your institution when applying Big4 as they are very particular about the acdemic pertormance of interns. 5. Phone interview then online assessment or vice versa, then they may give you a call or email for face-to-face interview (Written assessment will be conducted during that time as well) Thanks for answering. Your answers help me a lot. Thank you

Hi there,
1. For EY, is there a difference between graduate programme and internship?
2. Let say graduate programme and internship are the same thing, can I apply for both?
Currently I'm looking for internship but I'm interested in EY's graduate programme in audit. At the same time, I saw the internship position as well.
That's all I wanna ask. Thanks in advance.

Okay, I failed my online assessment and I don't know why. It is a situational test.

Hi everyone, currently I'm an audit intern in a mid firm. To be honest, I don't have much interest in audit. I choose audit because many people said that audit can learn more things.
Now the thing is, I will definitely switch to commercial in future. So now I am wondering my career pathway after my internship. I have two options and everyone can give me advice on the options:
1. After internship, work as audit associate for 2 years, then switch to commercial / MNC
2. After internship, straight away apply for MNC / commercial
Thanks in advance.

I have a problem here. I wish to apply for a permanent position in KPMG. But when I apply online using my email, the system detects an incomplete submission previously and forces me to continue the incomplete submission. Okay fine I just continue the previous application. But the problem is, I can't change the position applied for!!! The position applied for shows internship and I can't make changes to it.
So should I apply for the permanent position using another email or is there other way to settle this problem?
Don't really wanna use another email cause most of the time I don't log in to the other email.
Sorry if my problem sounds childish...

Has anyone tried PwC's online assessment? The email stated that the assessment will be an online game. Just curious about what will be tested and how to score

QUOTE(Bababaria @ Dec 18 2020, 08:45 PM) It really is just games. There are like approximately 5 different games. One that I can remember was a reaction test. Nothing much to worry about, quite easy. Just treat it like playing games. BTW, what role are you applying? Good luck I applied for the Junior Xplore programme. They said they stopped receiving applicants for the programme but ppl can still send in application for future opportunities. Then I just try and got an email from them. Tbh I never expect a reply from them haha. Thanks for your wish btw. Just wonder what's after the game assessment.

QUOTE(ziling60 @ Jan 10 2021, 01:51 AM) I have no idea what questions will be asked specifically by EY as I was not from EY. But I believe interview would be some behavioral/situational questions like how will you work in a team, ie with your seniors/managers, what will u do if xxx happens, this and that. How do you overcome challenges etc or even why do u wan to join audit Alright thanks. Then what kind of technical questions will be asked?

QUOTE(Cwrj @ Jan 24 2021, 01:54 AM) Hi, how did you apply for the position? Because currently now i did not see any vacancy for audit associate:( I applied through their website. And I've checked it out, there is EY Graduate Programme - Assurance (Audit Associate). I'm not sure you are a fresh graduate or experienced, perhaps this may help you. And here's the link https://eygbl.referrals.selectminds.com/stu...ssociate-182256Good luck

QUOTE(Cwrj @ Jan 26 2021, 07:04 PM) Apparently itโs a 6 mths employment contract, not sure whether to accept it or not, just got a call from them. Same goes to me. Although it's just a 6 mths contract, I think it's a good opportunity to work with one of the big 4. So I just accept the offer. Hope that you accept also, then we can become colleagues haha

QUOTE(jjaejjae @ Jan 28 2021, 12:10 AM) Hi, congratulations on your new job. I wanna ask whether you joined EY's audit associate as a fresh graduate (with no prior experience) or experienced hire. Could u also share what questions were asked during the interview process? Thank you in advance. I am hesitant to apply for EY because I was recently rejected by other 2 Big 4 firms (one main reason is that I have no prior experience or internship as compared to other candidates, although I have completed my degree and ACCA papers) Job search has been harsh, especially during this pandemic.. I'm even thinking to apply for internship first just to gain experience first. Don't worry if you are rejected by other Big 4. I was rejected by some big 4 and those mid firms didn't even bother to reply me lol. I join EY as a fresh grad. For interview questions, you can do some research from glassdoor. Phone interview is quite simple, they just ask you about your major, experience and co-curricular. After that you will take online assessment. And finally will be written assessment and virtual interview. For virtual interview, just those normal interview questions like strength and weaknesses, why audit. No technical questions as you are a fresh grad. Good luck!
