Nope, manual tranny. Funny, the car can crank like it's choking but just cannot start..then I keep holding the crank and it finally started, rev until 3k the engine died again

anyway, contacted the proton i care line and they towed my car to the nearest SC. sad.gif

Mine once in awhile. No idea why. Start rev sikit then die again. Not often, very random. Happened to me today.

light blinking 5 times means 1 of the doors/hood/boot is not closed properly. so just open and close back properly. u can also close all the door and see at ur meter there, if the door not closed logo lights up. sometimes the door switch can gila a bit, so get some wd40 and spray a little at all the door switch. please lift up rubber first yea. spray on the protective rubber no use.

yeap, that's to reset the car's alarm module. they way i learned was to insert key into ignition and turn to on, push the button with the little dot and start the engine. smile.gif

mine too lol. happen few times already. when it happens, i just lock car. bang head on wall 5 minutes, think back why my car dont love me another 10 minutes. den go back to car and start, and it will start. then sit in car 5 minutes and think back maybe my car purposely want test my patience jeee. whistling.gif whistling.gif

it could be fuel pump/fuel filter/ fuel line related? cause it seems like petrol flow is not enuff, thats why crank but choking and cannot start.
maybe i'll go sc and ask, and try to get them to change for me. claim warranty biggrin.gif

the iafm valve is the circular shape part near the alternator there right?
will try and get it done soon.
on another viewpoint, saga flx iafm and preve iafm is it 100% identical?

did u pam diesel inside? whistling.gif anyway, think throttle position sensor misaligned nia. small matter. Otherwise, could be crank sensor, that 1 more major.

It is very random. You would hear the starter cranking but mati2 wont start. Safety feature ke? But very troublesome.

The red "door open" indicator on your meter light up or not when you open the other 3 doors? Try press the switches on those doors to see any response or not. Most probably is the switches faulty like mine last time.  biggrin.gif

BTW, just some update regarding my Saga's warranty claim.

What I had claimed and changed during warranty period:
-Both rear drumbrakes
-Driver door centre lock actuator
-Rear left wheel bearing
-Both front headlights
-Fuel pump
-Mysterious engine cant start after rest, SC have no clue

Made a visit to SC today and going to change the following part tomorrow afternoon under warranty:
-Rear right wheel bearing
-Rear right drum brake slight jam
-A bearing in the engine making obvious knocking sound under low speed

Thanks for the help. Seems like the switches are faulty. Never paid attention coz seldom drive passengers at night until recently then I realized the problem. Btw, where to check the warranty period for each parts?

Not sure where but I always keep servicing my car at SC (skipped one time) to maintain the warranty. So far all of the items I complained on my list are able to claim under warranty except rocker cover gasket. smile.gif

why not try crank and start and warmup engine until 30 seconds the only jalan / rev.
the old method.
remind you that your car is flx cvt, not blm fl 4at, like mine can rev kaw kaw after start whistling.gif

iinm, looks like ur fuel pump is dying like someone's case before.

edit : or maybe should check on your spark plug like Technog's case . logically like you said before, ur mechanic kata ok no need to change laugh.gif

Sent the car to SC already, problem is with the spark plug. Only 8k km on the odo and need change already sad.gif rm 56 somemore haih

3rd service onwards already send bawah pokok... tongue.gif

you should already be prepared from the time you collected your car . some owners have more big problems than yours.

Just want to share about CVT.

Earlier this month I was telling about the SAT button is the culprit which is causing issues to the CVT.

Now I even have stronger reason to believe that the SAT button is memang the one causing the CVT light to light up and go off as many encounter before or still having the issues.

I have tried to drive with the SAT button ON for quite some time now, and the CVT light has not light up since.

I have also tried to vacuum the SAT button using a quite powerful vacuum and been driving with the SAT button off since and the CVT light has not light up as well.

This shows that with the SAT button ON, the button is always in the ON position (is clicked down) so it does not cause any issues.

But when the button is OFF, the button is sitting there like a weak didi that will vibrate whenever the car goes over a pothole / bump. Over time I believe it somehow like touches (the contact point) the ON button BUT it's not really ON as it's not clicked downwards hard enough.

Another reason is, when the button is OFF, dirt tends to get underneath the button and eventually causing the same issue. I guess this is what happen to my button as I can see that the area around my button got quite a lot of fine dust/particles as previously I only wipe like a bit and never really wipe clean clean nor vacuum it.

The conclusion I can make is the SAT button memang bodoh stupiakk shit. I think the SAT button is the one causing the CVT light to light up 90% of the time in all FLX CVT. 10% might be the CVT light light up because the CVT memang ada problem like overheat or belt sensor or etc.

So to those who are having similar issue can either go to SC and ask them to change the SAT button or try to vacuum the button first and see if it works.
