I doubt so as the switch is just a typical cheapskate ON OFF switch.

By removing the switch, it will be like permanently OFF.

But anyway, we'll see how it goes... tongue.gif

i want to know how long did you crank start before stop by releasing the key?
fyi,you can crank start for about 5 minutes non stop. no, it will not spoil your car actually.
*
oh really? I thought it would spoil if I crank too long. That's why I only did it for about a minute or so?
even though I managed to start the engine it would be dead when I revved it

the first time it happen to me, i troubleshoot the possibilities myself, tukar spark plug, check fuel pump connection. den it stop for sometime. but then it started the nonsense back. so maybe now u change spark plug u feel no problem, but just remember, it could always happen again unfortunately.

QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Dec 15 2015, 11:54 AM)
Dont be surpise if it happen again. Even the SC have no clue on what cause the problem.

This reminds me, I haven been wuekekeke for a month now after I changed the fuel pump. Usually my Gaga will have this problem at least once a week.

hopefully it wouldn't occur again, can't afford to waste time and money just to fix issues that pops out once in a while. pray that it doesn't occurs again if not it would seriously be my last proton.
but funny how a car that I've purchased in Feb (about 10 months old) the spark plug can fail sad.gif

I think at SC the mechanic tried to start my car by keep turning the ignition and when it suddenly starts the whole bengkel all filled with white smoke.

One thing that's common in all fuel injected cars these days is ensuring a fair level of fuel is kept in the tank at all times. Fuel is used to cool the pump in the tank and running too often at a low level reduces the service life of the pump.
The belief I heard years ago was 30 seconds cranking the starter (which is a pretty long time and you were probably within that) shouldn't be exceeded or the motor may get too hot and die. I also think starter motors like most bits of any car are better than they used to be too.

Fuel pump claimed under warranty. However, i need to observe longer to make a conclusion saying the fuel pump is my root cause. Different Gaga might have different root cause. If it was really the fuel pump problem, then the fuel pump might no be supplying enough fuel pressure before you start your car.

i find it funny you bought proton and expect miracles.
just be aware in the future : tyre problem, suspension problem, alignment problem, rocker cover gasket problem, aircond problem, power windows problem, battery problem, fuel pump problem, to name a few. don't expect owning a car will not having problems later.

there are others that having problems more than you have right now.

once a forummer here had replaced new battery. can crank but cannot start the engine. the mechanic crank start the engine non stop for about 5 minutes, then only the engine can start. he said the mechanic say saga if total flat battery after change battery need to crank start continuously until can start the engine.

previous david's post regarding bad spakplak.
QUOTE(davidke20 @ Jan 5 2015, 03:56 PM)
Won't be literally BREAKDOWN due to worn off plugs. The worst case scenario for bad plugs will be harder to crank start, especially early in the morning engine will stall. Drive that time will jerk abit even with same speed cruising. Higher petrol consumption due to incomplete burning. By that time, your mileage probably clocked 100k liao nod.gif

But the thing is, i already started wuekekeke since my 1000km service, that time still new, and fuel pump working properly, so cant conclude that its the fuel pump causing the problem.
