I have seen a few of my friends jump start their flx CVT as well and so far none have had any issues like this.

This is the first time I see issue like this.

Better stop. lol. Buy RM300 battery better than RM3000 TCU. haha

what about i use my saga flx to jumpstart other car which is flat battery?

Hmm, I've so far jumpstarted a GenTut, Trooper and Altis.... so far OK. I guess if we use our car to jumpstart other cars, it is OK but if our FLX battery kaput... we better don't use other car to jumpstart our car.

QUOTE(JamesBotak @ Dec 3 2015, 10:22 AM)
What?! But do you think it's true ?

I personally think even if it's true, it won't damage the whole CVT  unit. The worst should be the TCU and TCU won't really cost a bomb right ?

It's only the electronic circuit that's damaged.

I have two jumper cable in my boot. If this is seriously true, then I should take it out before I forget about this and use it.
*
It is just the TCU. And the TCU is RM3k.

The CVT unit itself is RM12k. wink.gif

Ouchh! I thought 3K was for the whole CVT unit. rclxub.gif

Any idea how much would it cost to change to Manual? hmm.gif

Bumped into one of the Proton service center technician today during mamak-ing. SO I go ask about this issue. Apparently, according to him, Proton cars with Punch CVT CANNOT be jump started in the event of a flat battery. So regardless of right pole, wrong pole, north pole, south pole, sausage pole, once jumpstart, byee bye. TCU goreng.

This is why Proton removed the jumper cable from the Saga accessories list in 2012. (2011 batch cars will notice their car comes together with jumper cable but 2012 onwards the cables were missing).

SO pretty much explains the fried TCU.

whutttt, first time heard about this. lets say if car batery flat, and cannot jumpstart; any other way to get the car started up? remove battery and send shop to recharge first?
or can take another working battery and switch, start car, and switch back to kong-ed battery to drive to shop?

switching battery while engine ON also can fried your ECU TCU whatsoever lol.
your option might be : call andrew call him to fetch you go to battery shop and buy new battery. or switch battery with andrew's lol.

hi all,

so regarding the battery jump starting issue, whats the best way to do if lets say our saga flx battery kong? since its not advisable to jumpstart aiks.

call someone to replace the battery is the best option?

ECU manual FLX 32bit RM1k+
Harness 1.2k
Manual gebox mounting RM600
Upah setting immobilizer RM290(not Plotong ori, outside diehardsu van kunci guy)

Gebox getrust FLX ori new 6k
New klac slave pam RM700
New Klac assembly 1.2k
New Pedal RM58
New manual berak servo + haidrolik klac cylinder RM500
Shift linkage RM200
Gear shitstick and mounting assembly RM500

Gebox getrusted FLX ori used 2k(if you can find 1)
Gebox mitshi Wajunk Kampro/Gentut/Personga/taxi BLM used 2k
Used klac slave pam RM100(if you can find 1 in good kondisen)
Klac assembly/pedal/berak servo all not available YET for sekonhen. Not kompatibulu with Gentut/Personga/Wajunk unless u do not wish to use slut bar
Shift linkage + shitstick & mounting assembly RM100(if you can find 1)

Basically, brand new gebox mod will cost you about 10~12k. Used gebox mod will be around 3~5k(provided everything u obtained from kedai potong is functioning ploperly). Labor very much depending on the shop and I can't be certain how much they gonna charge. Usually from out the old gebox all the way to in the new gebox + setting will cost around 2k.
