Do you think ppl earning RM1k to 2.5k and have to slug their life off to earn the money will be free to post in this thread? Do you think every single msians log into lowyat and post? Also have u take into consideration of industry, places and etc? Just FYI, there is another thread where ppl are complaining the low paying job and bad employers. This post has been edited by party: Dec 11 2017, 01:38 AM |

QUOTE(casalim @ Dec 11 2017, 06:43 PM) that seems to be over the top though.one needs to have a starting salary of at least 4.1k, and have an average annual increment of no less than 20% to achieve 10k in 5 years. most fresh grads don't even make that starting salary back 5 years ago. EDIT: and yeah, i'm one of those that got lowball gao gao that's why i'm gonna say bye bye to Malaysia for the moment. Companies here are too stingy. Push me to work past midnight but still don't want to pay me what i'm worth. This post has been edited by NowLat.yet: Dec 11 2017, 08:40 PM |

QUOTE(casalim @ Dec 11 2017, 08:52 PM) You were lucky that they didn't offer based on your last drawn salary.i've never once interviewed for a company that doesn't base their offer on my last drawn salary. Which is why i'm doomed with low pay unless i can find that unicorn company that offer based on merit rather than based what my previous employer think i'm worth. and when i try to blank out my salary details, or refuse to budge in to their request, they will dismiss me under the guise of "attitude problem". Hence, i'm now contributing to the brain drain problem, gonna leave this country for greener pastures. |

QUOTE(casalim @ Dec 11 2017, 07:04 PM) Well, I have a lot of interesting skill in programming world QUOTE(casalim @ Dec 11 2017, 07:04 PM) .NET C# Moderate company (100+- staff)To both, I have to say one thing about my job, I have to choose to be the bad guy within the team to do things right. In the IT world, practically in employment world, there will always be "Do the right things" and "Do things right". My team doesn't like me, but my end user / product owner loves me. So everyday I'm in work is a struggle because everyone in the team will sabo you. This post has been edited by hades4eve: Dec 13 2017, 12:08 PM |

Cruzer Is this normal salary for IB? Usually in a bank, how many people hold this position? Lets say Maybank or CIMB. On average, approximately how much money did you make for your employer in 1 year? I'm just trying to find the anchor for the market. |

QUOTE(petirbuas @ Dec 15 2017, 05:40 PM) winger7 I don’t have statistics , I just know for the couple of people who im close to which is not a reprensentation of the overall industry. I’m in middle management , base just below winger. For wholesale banking including ib n markets, 2-3 yr bonus are still possible although has become increasingly rare these days as compared to earlier years and only the outperformers gets them. As for revenue, over the few years im in the industry, I feel that compensation is quite loosely tied to revenue generation. compared to the past .if anything it will get comparatively lower over time . either that or my boss has taken most of the bonus pie lol. But if u need some numbers , 100mio for a very lean team n ull probably get rewarded decently. Although this varies based on ur job mandate n sector.Cruzer Is this normal salary for IB? Actually its already disclosed in annual report on overall compensation of material risk takers . I am sure you will be able to do the math on how many people and average compensation of these guys. Then you can guesstimate a middle management is making in these units . Cheers

Hi guys, wish to get some advise from members here..
Working experience, 3.5 years Company, 4th company. Job related, accounting, process enhancement (VBA, RPA) Salary range, 4.5k I got new offer from previous company ex manager which he and most higher level director went to setup and manage a new shared services.. he offered me 6k pay to move over. Problem is I have changed my job quite frequent in my 3.5 years.. longest service months is 1.5 years.. should I move? Previous move reasons basically is not challenging, no appreciation and 50%increments offers.. same goes to now again, within half year+, I got additional 1 offer from 4.5k to 6k+about 35%increments again..
