For those of you in IT. Whats the rough maximum bracket in IT software development? I'm around the RM10k, range. Wondering if I would have to branch up into the management/project management field to get into a higher bracket up to the RM15k range?

may i ask how old are you?

I think 10k is a decent figure...probably normal now. Saw many people posted a much higher figure here.  sweat.gif I'm guessing we have to branch into management field to get into a higher bracket. I wonder whats the pay range for those in IT management field. Those who are actually managing projects and etc.

All I've seen are those salary reports from Jobstreet and Kelly etc.

i had quite a number of friends who made the jump from technical to project management (business analyst / project manager), maybe you can consider taking that path too. not too sure about the pay range though but i am sure they do pay well.

Hi guys, i would like to ask opinions from all the sifus here. I am currently dilemma on choosing my next job.

Option 1: 3.7k SGD per month (Yes, have to reside at Singapore)
Option 2: 7k MYR per month (My hometown, Selangor)

I am 28 years old in IT industry. Currently reside in PJ, stayed at Singapore for 3 months last year and i dont feel happy working and staying there.

But MYR is unstable due to recent economic situation. Which 1 do you think i should take? Thank you.
*
if you have family in selangor, i will definitely take up the 7k job to spend more time with family and friends. you can actually do your own calculation, after deducting room rate and misc items, what is the gross pay for you in sg? i am sure it will be in the range of your 7k salary in malaysia.

Hi all,

Need you guys help here. My situation as below:

As I've been worked here for almost 3 years(in 3 months I'll be full 3 years) as a home appliance online store website incharge person and etc. The online store is my company inhouse website, not under marketplaces like Lazada or 11street and so on. I find that the salary is lesser than I've work compares to other job.

My job description as follow:
1. Customer Sales and Services through email/phone.
2. Handling of orders from online store(From checking online store order>Open Sales Order>Print Order>Look for Products>Handling of products to courier)
3. Adding and manage products into online store(At the moment there's already around 2500 of SKU)
4. Technical supports for office colleague (Such as troubleshoot, solve, setup and so on everything related to IT)
5. Online store orders filing
6. Online store artwork design (To be put on main page)
7. Improvement of online store (Such as to figure out anything that boost sales and customer conveniences.)

I've studied until Diploma only and have withdraw without the cert.
My salary currently is RM2350 from my basic of RM2000 2 years ago. Working from Mon- Fri. Bonus is only 1 month of my salary.
I'm currently senior of 2 colleagues, and they are partially under my in charge.

My decision now would be, leave this company at once I've been worked for 3 years full and then find another work.

Is leaving this company and my post a wise choice?

Please help.

Thank you all!

i think if you can find an employer that is willing to pay you such amount, then who are those people to judge you being overpaid. in my opinion they are just jealous.

if they are willing to pay such amount, that also means that they think that you are 'worth' the price that they are paying for. willing buyer willing seller.

Woah guys, seriously? You are all very rich! Current O&G scene also very bad. Especially local companies, now mostly take advantage oni.

5-7 years in O&G construction, as permanent, easily 8k previously. Now if you get 6.5k consider lucky af aredi. While contract workers who used to gain 12k+ now most cases with 1yr contract only get 8k at most.

For >10 yrs of O&G exp, there’s no consistency on payouts. Some ok some suam suam oni. Based on “who you know” shayt summore.

Haih GG la youngsters.

i think O&G will pick up real soon. look at the O&G counters at bursa recently they are showing signs of reviving

I am thinking of jumping ship to PM roles or managerial roles (not looking only in terms of salary), which seems to be quite hard for the time being. I guess need to endure for now and send our more resumes.
*
you can only go that far as an IT business analyst, next step should be PM role but usually it will be a junior PM role since you do not have any prior experience as a PM unless you are able to convince the interviewer the work that you did in the past is somehow related to PM work.
