Recently accepted an offer for that pay. Previous salary was RM3600 + 200 allowance. Decided to jump ship with a I'm-not-sure-if-it's-lowball offer due to bad work environment, lack of learning opportunity, and stagnant career progression in previous company.

My current salary progression is 2500 -> 3000 -> 3600 -> 4100. What's my standing in the current job market? Overpaid? Underpaid? Market rate?

I was in a similar boat as you.

Except that my starting salary was 2.5k.

3k seems fair enough with 0 experience. It's not a lot, but it's not underpaid either.

LOL its quite obvious what firm you are referring to. Doesn't all their fresh graduates has a standard pay rate of ~RM3.6k ? I guess its different for their IT department
*
I was from that firm too. Only manage to hit 3.6k after a 20% salary adjustment AND 20% increment. sad.gif

I'm 28 this year and thinking of starting a family. But I feel my pay quite low to start one. Currently job hunting and asking for RM 5K. Is it ok or should I lower the expectation?

I've just completed my degree last year off-campus and thought is time to leave my current company.

6 years. Should be a reasonable expectation imo.

So demotivated right now.

Salary increment for this FY is only 5%.

2.5-3 years of working experience as programmer.

RM4.3k.

I'm at the bottom of the pecking order when compared to my graduate batch.
