Hi Guys, I just found out that there's an Android TV Box for Hypp TV via this thread. Any ideas on how to apply to change from the current box to android tv box?

Btw, I am on 30Mbps advance plan paying RM199 monthly (excl. GST) but then now they offering the same package for RM179. Can I appeal to TM to switch to the RM179 plan? Just wondering.

After market Android box for HyppTv are quite expensive, not that worth.

Guys, I'm facing a problem with my HyppTV. Actually haven't used it in years but decided to try it again. I'm on Adv30. My STB box is the old Huawei one that I got with VIP5.

When I watch HD channel like 622 Luxe HD and at the same time I download something which maxes my UniFi 30mbps, the HyppTV starts to jerk and pixelate. It's like there's not enough bandwidth coming to my house.

I'm using Homeplug to connect STB to router (Mikrotik RB2011UAS). I also tried using cable, same prob. My STB is Huawei EC2108E. My BTU is the old black Huawei one.

What do you think could be the problem?

Btw, this was today (Monday), I made a report to 100 at about 5pm. About 8pm, got a call from TM but I missed the call. Pretty good response huh? Then received an SMS where they reset my @iptv password. I re-login but of course, that didn't help.
*
You are not alone, mine also the same sheet. But only happens to other channels than 100-120. Buffering not enough as Unifi for HyppTv are only 8mbps.

What stock router falls short is signal. If your device is far from the router, then your device's network speed may degrade a lot. Since you're using Xiaomi mini router as your AP then that is not an issue.

For the 35mbps part, I guess your friend's area isn't that congested yet

Mine is very close to my router but it is not great once I go to kitchen or bathroom. laugh.gif So, I just added another AP. tongue.gif
Probably for my case, she is at level 19 but her speed is greater than mine. Mine highest download is around 33Mbps with 11Mbps upload whereas hers is 35Mbps but only 5Mbps upload. laugh.gif tongue.gif

I had just installed UniFi last month. Upload speed was upgraded to 10Mbps yesterday. Before this was 5Mbps.

If u changed better router still same speed, den its normal.. As in their policy, the speed is "speed effort" which is depend area, length from ur side to TM side.

If the speed is less than 30% of ur subscribed speed, den u can call to complain.

Need some advice/information. I will be installing unifi tomorrow! rclxm9.gif

1. Anything I need to know before the installer comes? I mean aside from the information on the front page of the thread.
2. Will there be any drilling if it is a hi-rise? From my understanding they will just need to open the door to communication room and do stuff. Is this correct?
3. Do I terminate streamyx now/ASAP or do I tell the installer about termination tomorrow?
4. Is it possible to keep my old landline number?

Thank you all notworthy.gif

bathroom = door, kitchen = a lot of interference(microwave etc etc). If you don't game or perform a lot of video upload, having 5mbps is okay though laugh.gif

Well, you can restart your router to see if you have it or not.
If after you restart, you have it then you have it, if not, then wait for next time. biggrin.gif

Don't worry, your time to get it will be here soon. biggrin.gif
I supposed 10Mbps will soon be a standard for 30Mbps package's upload speed. biggrin.gif

30mbps dl /10mbps ul (got upgraded from 5mbps which was a nice surprise, cause 5mbps wasn't cutting it for my for my obs streaming). I'm using an Asus RT-AC68U AC1900 class router loaded with RT-Merlin's third party firmware (NEVER USE THE DEFAULT UNIFI ROUTER!!! it's totaly POS rolleyes.gif )
user posted image

Also using a F95B usb fan, since we are in the tropics the router can get damn hot
user posted image

got temps tamed down from 80+ to a more reasonable 60c for 24/7 operation

local speed (hard to complain about this other than the price)
user posted image

singapore speed (i was expecting around 20ms... but guess this is okay, even for counter strike fps)

US speed (LA CA WebNext - US West. International speed is most important since most of the content is located here, outside that which is cache on akamai/google servers locally. so this result has to be good or you'll be relying overly much on local peers on torrent....)

germany speed ( frankfurt leaseweb)

PIA (private internet access VPN)
using one of the US servers i got around 10mbps download. which is basically a third of my dl subscribed speed. But considering we may have signed TPPA, this may be unavoidable sad.gif Maybe using paid proxy for torrent can achieve better speeds while achieving some anonymity.

anyway regarding speedtest, some server is slow (got like 10-15mbps dl), but considering this other server in US west can get this result, i'll accept it as the official result.

unifi has come a long way, even the latency has reduced from 200, to even lower. I'm using ipv6 maybe that helped?

just hope the pricing becomes more reasonable, now we got gst >_>;

PS: on side note, this router can max out on 30mbps internet speed over wifi 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I don't have 50mbps package so i obviously can't push the limit to test for that sad.gif

updated the post above. the speed considering the distance is pretty good. normally our european destination speed kinda sux, but it's much better than before.

even latency is now 200ms, which is what we use to get to the US previously. Before use to be somewhere around 300-500ms.

Did you tried to check on the interface through Winbox on how much of bandwidth are pushed through vlan600 when you max out vlan500?

Anyway, if it only happens when you stream HD channel through stb and at the same time downloading stuff that maxes your 30mbps but the stb is not able to get 6-8mbps of bandwidth to have a smooth streaming experience, then I think a suspect to be suspected of would be your BTU. Another suspect would be TM where they don't have that much of bandwidth.
*
TM called again this morning and I missed the call again. Called 100 and asked them to call me back.

Anyway. For channel 622, vlan600 runs steady at 8.6-8.9mbps. Problems start occurring when vlan500 reaches about 28mbps with some slight pixelation on HyppTV. At 30mbps the HyppTV is pretty bad. For non HD channels, of some which I've observed to run at 2mbps, it's fine.

200ms is fairly good down from 227ms (using streamyx, same server).... my online gaming would be better after i upgraded to unifi!

can't wait to get unifi installed at my house biggrin.gif
