Ya, but they still advertise the same advert on Star, which still with the bag shown there. Also kind of misleading. I saw that in the last 2 days. biggrin.gif

Typical bank approach. Trying to get customers change their mind to look into other investment products. I have gone through this once and the staff already knew what I want is pure FD

seems like no 1 willing to go for maybank 4.5% instead of ocbc 4.5%  hmm.gif

Actually for Maybank GIA FD, if you choose to roll over your monthly interest into your principle, you will be getting close to 4.6% pa. Of course only risk is principle/capital not guaranteed. Interest rate subject to OPR changes, I dont expect OPR to drop in near future, but if increase and maybank increase the FD rate will be bonus!

I thought our principle is not guaranteed if only maybank failed? No?

not necessary. for principal, you may get back <100% even maybank has no issue. just investment lost on their part.

Your investment in Maybank can fail and risk capital loss but Maybank still can remain strong and steady.

Sadly yes. Maybank GIA-I, princiapal and returns not guaranteed. If it trouble you, just remove the money and dump into OCBC 4.5% (PIDM protected) thumbup.gif

Was planning to uplift my FD from OCBC but luckily I double check the cert. Turns out I just placed the FD last month for 13 months tenure but I forgot to change 2015 to 2016 in my record. Almost left my office already sweat.gif
