Generally all FD early withdrawals would just waive the latest month interest if full month unfulfilled unless T&C practises prorated interest |

Your bank is indeed very generous. Can share with us which bank is practising this type of policy ? |

Does this OCBC has maximum amount as well? My current OCBC 4.2% only allows max RM30k which sucks.

QUOTE(familyfirst @ Nov 5 2015, 03:03 PM) Has anyone done any research if the interest rates are better of at the beginning or end of the year for the past few years? Just curious. Assuming if you waited 15 days for a 4.7% 12 months FD in 2016, then you are actually getting 4.51% in effective terms. FDs maturing Dec dunno wanna wait till Jan or just place with 4.5% in Dec. If there is no such 4.7% rate in 2016 and rates remain at 4.5%, then you are getting 4.32% for losing 15 days interest. |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Nov 5 2015, 09:12 AM) OK, checked MBB online. The "profit" is in, shown as "Credit FD Int". I calculated the amt given, it is 4%, as declared for first 6 mths. Goat gorgor, will follow your lead and go for 4.5% MBB 12 months tomorrow. Will opt out of CIMB 3months because 6 Feb 2016 is weekend and then followed by CNY holidays . I know they will 'cheat' me of 1 day interest, I boh song Maybe others can check theirs later. Now looks like can put in more eggs there ! |
